Perfect place to buy Pakistani grocery. Best prices in the town. Meat and chicken are so fresh. Really satisfied with them.

Been here more than 20 times. But slowly avoiding it. Poor Maintenance. Unhealthy. They cut chicken, Beef, Lamp. everything on the same table same gloves. Lot of tray’s with meat, one among them would be smelling some times. Long queues(Not because of many orders, because of slow service). To buy a couple lbs of meat I had to wait for atleast 1hr in meat and pay counter queues any time of the day/any day of the week.

It’s a good Store for Pakistani grocery but their butchers are really arrogant sometimes they even don’t understand & cut meats wrong which ruin your dish. I think they need to change them or need to teach them some manners or customer service. 3 star is they have almost all stuff but their customer service is really bad except few ppl.

BEWARE of this place! We got chicken from this store and opened the bag only to see«worms» in the meat. So we called the store to convey this and the owner didn’t even bother to apologize.

I stopped purchasing meat here over a year ago because of the unsanitary practices I’ve witnessed and the poor quality. The other day I came by to pick up halal chicken breast for a work event as it is the closest shop to our office, and within 36 hours the chicken went bad. The smell of the chicken was so bad after just opening the bag in the morning to cook it myself and a friend both almost gagged. Never again will I shop here. There are so many other quality halal meat shops in the South Bay, don’t risk your family’s health here.

One of the few places for fresh goat meat in the Peninsula so I am stuck with this place. Unresponsive, almost sullen customer service. Travel from San Francisco to pick up my order so I try to call ahead — nobody picks up most of the time(even though they claim to have call ahead service). Sometimes, someone does picks up, takes my order and when I arrive there, they claim to have«misplaced» it, so I have to stand in line again. Happened to me more than once. Avoid this place if you can.

WORSTMANAGEMENT. They kept expired dairy product in refrigerator and if i question an aged man who is at main counter, his response was like hell… he is telling«what should we do for that, we did’t notice that. «so Cooley he is telling. what if customer consumed it. that old man has no humanity. Try to check expiry date before purchasing it… my request for that old person not to behave like that.

I have been a regular customer at taj mahal for meat and never faced any issue so far with the staff, but yesterday i went to buy chicken ordered whole chicken cut in to small pieces. I saw a green layer between skin and flesh and asked them if it is possible to change the whole chicken the person who weighs the chicken accepted it and he was almost to change, here comes this guy MOHAMMEDALI who started arguing with me saying he cannot change, i tried to explain him but he didnt listen and started using some filthy language which i couldnt understand. Finally manager need to come in between to sort the issue. My only argument is when i didnt like it why the hell he is trying to force me to take it and if he has any problem he should speak in common language. IMP: i am not against the staff or any other person in tajmahal they are very nice but only issue is with this A** H**** mohammed ali.

I come here to buy meats and some middle eastern groceries. The price is good but so crowded on the weekends. They need to improve long line to the cashier and meat section!

Bay areas Meat Supplier specially Goat, Chicken. It is so popular, Meat counter is busy always till they close the store. You can expect long and long queue to buy meat. They also sold fresh vegetable — very good quality. If you are looking for special curry powder fro South Asia — this is best place.

Poor maintenance. These guys mess up with the order. No proper response when you make a complaint and worst suggestion for your complaint. Looking for a better alternate shop.

I really like coming to this place. Bought goat meat and frozen hilsa from here last weekend. You also get long beans and bitter gourd here(the Indian version) I wish they had chiku too.

New to the area and have been shopping for a good halal meat shop so we visited Taj last weekend. Possibly the best source for a wide variety of halal meats and meat products(halal beef sausage and salami? Why yes!) in Silicon Valley. The products we were shopping for were very competitively priced with other Indian/ethnic grocery shops in the area. The spice variety was impressive, cheap and well organized. Space is tight but I found it relatively easy to find products, and most importantly, the store staff were exceptionally helpful at locating items.

Great choice of hallal meat, but the quality is very questionable. I was recently sold very bad chicken that clearly was no good for consumption. Found this out once at home. It was stinky so you have to wonder how they could sell this. Very dispointed. Will never go back …

its laughable, the line for the slaughtered animal. its a great feeling to pass it by and shop for all the other non-animal exotic items this store carries. manuka honey! awesome bulk dried goods including dark chocolate covered almonds! an amazing tea selection. ajvar! such an ethnic mix of european and south asian ingredients its all about trying something new and putting it to use. the produce selection is remarkable, a vast amount to choose from and at the peak of freshness. clearly this store buyer shops carefully and consistently for whats fresh and best. crowded sure. but the store also occupies two other stores within the same shopping mall. one is simply packed with every type of bread item you could imagine, from every continent it seems. and all those meat eaters in line? pass them by for sure, but realize that soon they will be in line to pay. so they are going to get in your way after all.

Check out Taj Mahal 2.0. Spacious place by the same owner as the one on El Camino Real. Awesome meat!

My husband knows both the owners through his job and he says they are very nice, honest and very hard working. They take pride in their produce being the freshest and locally grown. The meat hear is also top notch. I’ve seen the butchers do there work and they are professionals.

Tips for the customers: — For fabulously priced produce, halal meat and ethnic groceries Taj Mahal is the best place in the South Bay. — Parking and congestion can be a problem. This can easily be solved by not bringing the entire clan to go shopping.(I’d suggest having fewer children and putting more time and resources into raising them, but it might not go over too well.) — Expect to wait in line for meat and checkout, but the lines move quite fast. — Consider not having the meat people«clean up» the meat. Large pieces of meat were being cut up and thrown in the garbage which is quite unfortunate given a living being gave up its life to be part of the food chain. Let’s not make it part of the garbage chain. — Interesting items to try: Hajmolla for good digestive health. This contains some interesting herbs such as ajwain. Baklava for a yummy dessert. Leban yogurt drink diluted in half with water for a thirst quenching pro-biotic drink. Mangos. Who doesn’t love mangos. Spice mixes used at ¼ of the quantity suggested. Halal beef samosas. Yummy! Garlic ginger paste to save your hands from the smell of chopped garlic for days. Tips for the store owner/management: — Please, please train the butcher people not to throw away so much meat. This is a living being that was killed to be part of the food chain. Although I enjoy the taste of meat, eating a plant based diet is more sustainable for the planet and our bodies. When we do consume meat, let’s do it in the least wasteful and most humane way possible. There is very little of the animal that cannot be consumed. –It’s wonderful when three registers are open at a time. It helps the traffic flow. –Could the store be expanded? Wider aisles and more room would be nice, although the current situation provides a nice incentive to be thin.
