Found lot of good stuff for kids school projects, they have amazing good collection of books also, very specific to school projects, I would suggest to look at their website before going and call them if you are looking for specific item to avoid trip.

Just stopped by yesterday after discovering their location for supplies for a middle school science fair project. Basic supplies seem to be fairly diverse. Lots of kits for experimentation. Did not have some basic materials in small quantities(eg. Sodium hydroxide, hydrochloric acid) for science experiments. Prices are not the lowest, reflecting the convenience of a quick purchase vs. waiting for an on-line delivery for specialty products. I ended up returning some of my purchased items when we found that we had a friend with the same supplies. They gracefully accepted the return. All in all, a good place to go for your science oriented child or the child in you…

Pretty good store for your home science projects, especially for some reagents that you don’t necessarily want large quantities of. Equipment, such as graduated cylinders, pipets, etc., are on the expensive side when you consider the what you’re getting. Still, if you’re in need of a few items for a kid’s science fair project, this is a very convenient place to come for just about anything.

My son and I have been coming here for science lab equipment and(some) chemicals since we started homeschooling in 2008. It’s always a pleasure to come here and see what we can get to support our science labs, and the proprietor has always been more than helpful in letting us know where we can get the chemicals we need for an experiment — i.e. at a drug store, or a nursery, etc. As a result, we’ve rarely been short of getting what we need for a science lab, whether physics, chemistry, or biology. If you need anything for a science project, call beforehand. If it’s not here, he can probably tell you where to go to get it, and some chemicals(especially those identified as hazardous) have to be ordered in advance, and have an extra hazardous handling fee. it also helps to know your stuff(i.e. have an experiment in hand), since there a few ready-made science kits, but rather more equipment for the high school/early college level of science.

No business sense nor customer services skill. One star is more than they should get.

Great service when I went in looking for some test tubes for Halloween projects. Prices were a little high, but hey, I’m not paying shipping. Had what I wanted(although I would have preferred them to have no white baked on writing label… probably great if you are using them for what they are designed for, I’ll just cover it with a fake spooky label). I also picked up another pair of safety goggles. HUGE selection of cork if you need some… great prices on that compared to the craft store. Nice folks. I had no idea they existed in San Jose. Thank goodness for the web!

Went in for a few items. After 10 minutes of waiting… I had to ask for help since the ladies working there didn’t offer to assist me. The items were WAY over priced. I was in shock but went ahead and bought the items I needed since I was already there. I was happy that they were local but won’t be going back since the cost is too painful.

Nice guy behind the counter. Knew his stuff. Lots of cool science toys and learning tools as well as tons of basic lab equipment. I bought a Van de Graaff generator which works just fine. I’ll be back.

I wouldn’t say they have everything you need. We were looking for some filter paper but they only have one type — I thought with all the glassware and glass funnels they have, they might carry at least a few different filter papers, but no. And no way to special order it, either. However, like I said they do have some nice odds and ends — I recommend going to the website or calling to make sure they do have what you need beforehand. The site is nicely laid out. The funnest thing is checkout — they must have the most complicated system because checking out always seems like the person is entering tons of information even when you pay with cash LOL.
