We began working with Right at Home at the beginning of April and had a great care giver for my mother-in-law. The care-giver came a couple times a week to take my mother-in-law on walks and to run errands, make lunch, and engage her in conversation as she can no longer drive by herself, has trouble getting around on her own, and has some speech troubles. As we began a 2-month remodel, we took a break from services. I called a couple weeks ago to restart care, and the past caregiver was no longer with the service. I gave our information to Caitlin again, and waited to hear back. After several days, I called again. They asked me all the same questions, and I had to re-give all our information, as if I had never called initially. We scheduled a caregiver to come out for three hours. When she arrived, the first thing she said(before introducing herself) was«Sorry, I might smell. I just biked here.» There was definitely a break in communication, as this person could not take my mother-in-law to run errands on her bicycle, and didn’t even have a driver’s license to drive one of our cars. I immediately called Right at Home, and told the caregiver she could leave. I have not received a call back since this happened, almost a week ago. Luckily we’ve found another local service that has been very responsive and listens to our needs.
