Yummy Yummy Yummy make my tummy very happy! The burritos here are delicious and if you get them«wet» they’re even better(beef gets you red sauce and chicken gets you green, just a lil’ FYI). One of the best authentic taquerias on this side of San Jose! Service is better than average and PLEASE bring cash, no credit cards yet.

Looks like Ixtapa ironed out their issues, the food is excellent, consistent, authentic. I do miss the al pastor with pineapple, but I still really dig the hole-in-the-wall atmosphere. Their pozole is wonderful, too. Just don’t cool it down or you’ll realize how deliciously fatty it is(whole soup turns to jelly!) YUM.

It opened and it was so good. Now, not so good. Needs some MAJOR improvement for me to return.

I had high hopes for this place from reading the reviews, but was really disappointed. Had the fish taco, and it tasted like fish sticks, it was disgusting. Also had an al pastor taco, and that was mediocre at best. Seriously, Taco Bell serves better food than this place. Went on a friday evening, and it was empty, which should have been a sign to run. With all the great taqueria’s in the san jose area, you should avoid this one at all costs.

My best fish taco ever! I think it’s even better than the pacific catch in SF. The price is really cheap compared to the quality you get! Definitely on top of my list now! If you go, definitely try their fish taco! The beef taco and beef tongue taco are very tasty, too. I am OK with their pork carnitas. It’s a hole in the wall, very original mexican small place. Highly recommend! :)

I was walking out of the liquor store and noticed this taqueria across the street and decided to try it out. It’s a little hole in the wall with a few tables and bar type seating along the window. They also have a few tables outside but it’s flaming for that. The gentleman that helped me was pleasant and I saw another lady which was the cook. Yes this place is tiny. I looked at the specials and to my surprise they have California Burrito’s and Carne Asada Fries. Some folks on Unilocal jock these so I decided to give them another try. I had them in San Diego and I was not impressed and once again I was not impressed here either. The portions are huge but the food lacks flavor. One of many things that I like about Mexican food is that it does not lack flavor or spices. This place most likely caters to those that have a taste for bland flavors or can’t handle the heat. but that’s not me. I may return to try other items but this first time around I wasn’t happy. They also have the Mexican Coke bottles everytone raves about but to me they taste flat. Sorry but I like lots of fizz in my Coke. Again the hunt continues for decent Mexican food in Santa Clara. TBC

Looking for a fresh taqueria, quaint, small… not mass produced? Finally. A taqueria found by my place… fresh, not greasy… tastey. The shrimp taco was awesome. Different textures, unique layers of flavors. Pollo Regular Burrito — good, fresh, slightly dry(but hey, the Regular Burrito is meat, beans, and rice only). So, you may want to go one level up from Regular. Carne Asada was in good sized chunks. Great customer service.

Just got back from this surprise thanks to 2 great reviews from Unilocal! Both the wife and I enjoyed the food and the food crew. As Chris K and Kerry K(no relation, I assume) said, the service is really above average for a taqueria. My wife had a veggie burrito and was going to be a «we’ll be back» staple. I had the Camerones Al Mojo(Garlic Shrimp) plate — very flavorful. The ingredients seem fresh. They also have Mexican coke in the fridge in glass bottles(definitely tastes unique). On a hot day like today, this small taqueria has a homey, villagey quality. Nothing fancy, but somehow like home(if I were Mexican). The credit card signs are up, but they aren’t taking payment yet.

I moved to Santa Clara 2 months ago and have been looking for my new local neighborhood taqueria ever since. For a while I thought my search was hopeless, but then I came accross this place on Unilocal and decided to try it. I am so glad I did! I ordered the super burritto and was able to have enough for dinner & lunch! Not only was the burritto huge, but is was very inexpensive, and extremely tasty. I plan to visit this place often.

This is a new local taqueria which is really worth a visit! It’s located in a place that’s not highly visible but it’s right off El Camino Real and Jackson. Their huevos rancheros are worth coming back for again and again! I’d like to see these guys succeed cause the food is great and the prices are very reasonable. I haven’t tried everything on the menu yet but the enchiladas are great too! Sort of Tex Mexy.
