They were located in another location with a bigger layout and a bigger parking lot but I guess they moved because of financial issues possibly. I can proudly say that they care about their customers more than most eggroll shops or restaurants. I remember the day when I went and found out that they were moving so I was going to leave but right when I was about to, the owner tapped on my car window and I bought around 10 eggrolls with a cheap price too! Ever since, regardless of how it looks like, this has been my favorite eggroll shop and I would not mind paying a little more than other restaurants just to get the right satisfaction and have me feel like family. The owner remembers my dad and I and the waiting time does not bother me because they always treat me with respect and the food is always good. Totally recommend it to anybody wondering how this place is. You will be surprised with how everything is in there. Only problem I would honestly say about it is the parking but other than that, 10⁄10 for me.

Quite possibly one of the worst places I’ve eaten. The pineapple shrimp were still in it’s shell, not cleaned, full of poop and tasted very dry. The spicy chicken was bland, no spicy, and tasted like it had been sitting out for weeks. The fried rice had some shells from other dishes in it and no flavor. The egg rolls themselves were ok, but you can get just«ok» egg rolls from Jack in the Box. Was beyond bummed this hole in the wall is really not worth the time.

Was a good quick fix to my random craving for Chinese food. Definitely got a lot of food for what we paid for.

Great eggrolls, parking is horrid but there are cute ass cats in the back lot so it’s okay. Be careful when driving there because it’s awkward to drive in to.

Came here because I read some reviews about little chef stating that house of egg roll is better but unfortunately I’m gonna have to say little chef is better by far. The«Fried rice» is just normal white rice so steamed rice with eggs and vegetables. The chowmein was okay and the egg rolls are pretty good but not as good as the reviews say. I gave it a 3 stars because the customer service. The lady was very nice.

Called ahead to order a tray of two dozens egg rolls for potluck. 5 minutes later I realized I was supposed to get veggie not regular ones. Called again to change and they said no problem. Got there 20 minutes after and the egg rolls were ready and still hot from fryer. I added few extra regular egg rolls to try as well. Now compared to King Egg Rolls in SJ(not the one in Milpitas), they are not as good but very close. The skin is thin and crispy, the filling is tasty with decent amount of ground pork. I do prefer higher veggie ratio. The egg rolls were popular and gone within minutes. I would definitely get them again since King egg roll is a bit too far.

I have been wanting to try this place out for a while, just to try the Eggrolls. Finally had a chance a few days ago. It is what I would describe as a «hole-in-a-wall» place. They do have a couple to tables for dine-in customers. But this is primarily a to-go joint. Most of the food are ready-made placed in warmers. I ordered about 10 Eggrolls to-go and a bowl of Wonton Soup to eat there. When I received the soup, I noticed that the soup spoon that came with it was filthy! Did my best to clean it with a napkin. The soup was just OK, nothing special. It was hot at least. When I got home, I tried the Eggrolls. They hardly had any meat inside. I wasn’t too crazy about the flavor either. For a place that specializes in Eggrolls, they did not pass the test! I will not be returning nor can I recommend to anyone to give this place a try. There are so many Asian restaurants in the area that give significantly better food.

It’s a hole in the wall eggrolls with roaches and with a mean old man who hates to give up sweet and sour containers and gives you a dirty look if you ask for one more. I was there when I ordered 15 eggrolls and I watched him interact with the clients. He seems like grumpy frumpy old guy who needs to stay at home if he hates people using the restroom or asking for napkins. He yelled at this kid who went to the back looking for the restroom. The eggrolls themselves have gone downhill. It’s full of veggies and no meat and the old man will snap at you if you ask for sweet and sour sauce. The chow mein and rice tastes like nasty as like you want to spend a good five hours on the toilet. Pepto bismo to the max. Ugh.

Just go here for the eggrolls, staff is kind of rude, and everything else on their menu is ok

We had broccoli beef, orange chicken, egg rolls and fried rice. The chicken was made up majority of fatty pieces of chicken, so if that’s your taste, great, but for us, not so great when every bite is fat. The fried rice tasted like it was steamed fried rice and was very bland, even when we added soy sauce. The broccoli beef was also bland, but on a good note, wasn’t so oily and greasy. Egg rolls were the only thing worth biying if you’re next door or close in proximity. They were fresh snd tasty. The majority of menu options looked like they had been sitting there a long while so the food didn’t look so fresh, but when you hungry, you tend to get whatever is conveniently located. Another good thing, the food was really inexpensive so as the saying goes, you pay for what you get.

Egg rolls review only! I’ve never tried any of the other items offered here, but from a glance they don’t seem too appealing, so I stick to the egg rolls here. They are not as greasy as other places and have a good proportion of meat to veggies. They’re pretty much comparable to King Eggroll except a little more peppery. The thing I liked most about this place was how they were like 65 cents per egg roll… waay back. Now they’re 90 cents each. The biggest downside to this place is location, the parking lot is tiny to almost nonexistent considering the few spots are usually always taken and is hard to get in and out of because it’s on a busy street.

This review is for egg rolls only. I was tired of always going to King Eggroll because the closest location is a bit of a drive away. This location is close to the freeway and better yet, close to the local university. I catered 35 egg rolls for a social event, and man, after that day, I was very well respected. The egg rolls here are super crispy and amazingly addicting. They use celery(which is a little weird in my opinion) and usually celery is not something I choose to devour), but I cannot put the egg roll down! All the egg rolls come with sweet and sour sauce, which is a great pairing if you have never tried it, BUT there are better options. For example, have you ever tried guacamole and egg rolls? DOIT. The pairing is literally so satisfying that my friends and I have started a new trend and choosing to snack on guac & egg rolls every so often. Minus 1 star because the service was sooooo whack the first time I was here. I literally called in to place an order. Since the place is cash only, I decided to ask him how much the total order was, so I could bring enough. I was not being impatient or anything, but the guy literally yells at me saying that I should just do the calculation myself(aka 80 cents per egg roll x 35 egg rolls = __?) But was tax included? I was really thrown off by this, but then proceeded to yell back at him, saying that I would not bring cash only if he did not tell me the price. After that, I went to go pick up my egg rolls at the time we agreed upon, only to discover that they were not even fried yet. Service here could definitely use some upping — I do not expect quality service, but I would enjoy not being yelled at. Overall, good egg rolls and it seems like the food items here are pretty cheap! Pro-Tip: Guac and egg rolls. Trust me.

This is steam table Chinese food at it’s finest, which makes this place just mediocre for almost everything. I came in to get take-out on a weekday night and they seemed to be out of half of all the food, and the rest looked like typical Americanized Chinese Food(ACF) — fried rice consisting mostly of rice, and beef with broccoli with that signature cornstarch-thickened soy sauce. But realize that for the price of a Chipotle burrito you’re getting almost twice the amount of food. The eggrolls are another story. Typical ACF eggrolls are wrapped in a thick wrapper that gets pimpled when fried and greasy when fried at the wrong temperature. These eggrolls are like a supersized version of my mother’s eggrolls. They’re wrapped in a thinner wrapper that crisps when deep-fried. They have the temp right so they’re hardly greasy at all. The insides are stuffed with moist pork and vegetable filling with a generous amount of meat. I think next time I’m going to load up on the eggrolls and get less of that steam-table food.

We always didn’t care for the looks of this place when we walked by, however after a few drinks with friends we walked here out of desperation and hunger. The drinks didn’t help mask the tasteless flavor and gross texture of the food. The restaurant itself didn’t appear up to health code but I had to use the bathroom which was much filthier. I definitely did not finish my food.

Chow mein tasted like cardboard and not fresh. Egg rolls were to crispy but had a good flavor. Sweet and sour pork was OK but not spectacular. The man behind the counter seemed like a real grump and did not seem happy at all to see me and serve me dinner. I guess it must be the end of their shift and they want to go home.

This review is for the eggrolls only. My boyfriend was craving eggrolls and we ended up taking a one hour detour to try this place out… and let me tell you, it was worth it. Most eggrolls skimp out on the meat but this place does not! There was a good amount of meat to vegetable ratio and what makes this even better is that the meat itself was well seasoned ! The eggrolls were premade and left out on a warmer but it was still hot when we got them. In addition the sweet and sour sauce was on point. I highly recommend this place!

Growing up on the East Coast, my forays into Chinese cuisine were of the Cantonese and New York Style Cantonese variety. I mean we had a chain called Canton, though Kon Chau gave us more authentic options and dim sum. Now I’m on the West Coast and we have Szechuan, Taiwanese, Ma’s is Chinese Muslim. There are a lot of varieties and price ranges. But sometimes you just want greasy, cheap, hole-in-the-wall goodness. Having had a two day hangover [insert Murtaugh here], I wanted something as described above. Sure I work near Jade Cathay, and not too far from Hunan Taste, Wing’s, and China Inn. But I decided to look the other way and glad I did. If you are looking for a nice place, to enjoy a reputable meal with friends or family — this ain’t it. If you are looking for a hole in the wall, dropping less than $ 8 on lo mein, pork, 2 eggrolls and 2 chicken wings, this is the place. The eggrolls were crispy and pretty damn good. Hey, sometimes we have a bad day or week and our inner cave person wants something greasy and tasty, and chewing the fat. You know, edible Prozac. This was edible Prozac. And it left me open to the couch monster and finally sleeping like a baby.

This review is based strictly on egg rolls. I was tipped off by my family that House of Egg Roll has egg rolls essentially identical to those of King Egg Roll, but without the mess and crowds that usually ensue on holidays. Take into account that it’s also not far from where I live, and that was enough to sell me. I called in an order of egg rolls for pick up. The egg rolls were ready for me when I came to pick them up, and as promised, at least from my perspective they are more or less indistinguishable from King Egg Roll. Price-wise I believe they are also basically the same. And no crowds or lines or anything! The only minor gripe is the parking situation. There are only a few(literally, a few) parking spots right in front and they are shared with at least one or two other businesses on the corner. You may have to park in the residential area behind them as I did. As long as I’m living nearby, if I need a tray of egg rolls I’m going to be getting them from House of Egg Roll.

YUMYUMYUM! I love this place. I have been here a few times, both for party orders, and they do NOT disappoint! You can even call in the order, let them know the time you will arrive, and everything will be fresh and ready for you! The eggrolls were hot, fresh, and delicious. Seriously, I got enough so that people could have 5 each and people did the Hoover maneuver and they were gone in a flash! I also have purchased the pot stickers from here. Same thing, they were a total hit. I will definitely be coming back to try out some of their other food. But if you have a hankering for a delicious, crispy, flavorful eggroll, THIS, my friends, is the place for you! *** CASHONLYSOBEPREPARED! *** Parking on Lafayette is a bit dicey(especially if you are trying to back out of the parking lot during rush hour)… if you come here during start/end work day times, park on the side street!

is this place really closed??? It had a great assortment of egg rolls and the fried chicken wings were awesome as well. Must have closed due to how inexpensive it was! I gotta drive by and see if the last review is correct about the closure. If not, I absolutely recommend if you are in this area.
