Ordered food over the phone from my hotel room went to pick up order and it wasnt correct. Informed the lady behind the bay and she was EXTREMELY rude about it! I will not be staying back at this hotel anytime soon stick to the 4star plus hotels when in Silicon Valley. I would give it a 0 If u could

Had a great experience in the bar. Ordered a beer and wings. The wings were really small, the sauce was separate(and tasted bad), but the beer was good. I told the bar tender in passing. They took the wings off immediately and told the kitchen. Then delivered the final bill. Surprise. Great job turning around a negative review and standing behind the quality of the food you serve from the kitchen!

The place is in the Biltmore hotel. Yolanda, the bartender, was pleasant and chatty. Very courteous lady and the long island was made correctly. I hardly can find a bar where they make it right nowadays. The setting of the bar is slow and pretty chill. Not too wild so you want to be in a bar with chaos then this bar isn’t for you. The food is sooo good too. The pot stickers were delicious.

Adel the bartender, is SO rude! And SO judgmental! My family and I were SO willing to spend more time here but he made us feel AKWARD! So we left…

This is a terrible restaurant and bar. The food is really bad and the service is worse. Plus it’s over priced! I’m staying at the hotel. As a traveling salesmen take a drive .5 miles away for better food and drinks.

Shoneys food at Ruth’s Chris prices. The service is slow and the wait staff inattentive, but there are plenty of tvs and you don’t have to worry about anyone talking to you. I got a burger and fries mainly because of the bad reviews and it was about what I expected. I finished my first beer before I was able to order food and stared at an empty glass for every time I ordered a drink. I’d avoid it if possible.

Wow. The food — horrible. How can one mess up a burger? A burger for christ’s sake! It was cooked until it was cardboard dry. After two bites, I could not finish. We also ordered the pot stickers — frozen and not fried long enough. Cold meat pot stickers are no bueno. This restaurant failed miserably. If I stay at the Biltmore again, I will NOT becoming here — would rather brave the nasty 101 traffic to find anyplace else.

The good thing about Hops is that it’s the only bar around the immediate area and since we are staying at the Hotel it’s connected to, we didn’t have to walk far. We had already eaten elsewhere so we stopped in just for a drink before bed. The bartender, Armando, and the hostess were the only two people inside. Wow, really quiet and dead. A lively bar was what I had my fingers crossed for but it’s Sunday night in Santa Clara. Not hoppin’. Armando made a terrific chocolate martini but it was in a tiny martini glass. For$ 10(!!!) this was surprising. Get a standard size glass to serve your overpriced drinks. Expecting to pay a little extra, husband’s vodka tonic wasn’t a surprise at $ 6.50 for the tiny glass. Also well-made, also not a great value for well vodka. Disappointing experience, but to no fault of the staff. Friendly, engaging, smiling service.

My department at work met here for our Christmas dinner recently, and spent a generally nice evening there. The venue for our dinner was nicely decorated for the holidays, and classy in every sense of the word; the service was swift and attentive, but not overbearing; the adult beverages were tasty; and the food was mostly good(and even when it wasn’t, it was never horrible). Bar: I only had one martini from the bar, and it’s really hard to judge the quality of the bar based on one drink alone. And there isn’t much to a classic martini, really — just some Bombay gin and some ice shaken together nicely, then topped with a single olive. A bartender screwing this one up ought to be fired on the spot, so the bartender at Hops at least made it past that test. Appetizers: Hops provided us with the usuals(an enormous cracker and cheese plate, as well as an enormous veggie plate with ranch dip), some samosas made with phyllo pastry, and some lamb brochette skewers. The samosas were especially good, having become light and airy because of their use of phyllo pastry, rather than the heavy chapati dough that is traditionally used in samosas. Even better were the lamb brochettes, which were tender and flavored with cumin and other Indian-style spices. The spices on the brochettes were applied just right — not so light that I couldn’t detect them, but not so overbearing that I could not taste of the lamb underneath. Delicious! Main Course — Side Dishes: These varied from just OK to nicely executed. We had a nice — but very typical — salad consisting of mesclun, tomatoes, olives, etc., with the usual dressings(ranch and balsamic vinaigrette), a wild rice pilaf that was seasoned nicely but otherwise just OK, and store-bought French rolls with butter. The best of the side dishes was the mushroom ravioli, which consisted of perfectly cooked, al dente pasta stuffed with a simple — but very flavorful — minced button mushroom stuffing. The ravioli was accompanied by a rich cheese sauce that was neither stringy nor grainy; the sauce was infused with truffle oil to give it an especially decadent flavor. Main Course — Meat Dishes: We had three meat dishes to sample from: — Salmon Braised in Hoisin Sauce, The salmon was perfectly cooked, so that it was flaky but not dry. However, I could not really taste either the hoisin sauce or the salmon. Instead, what I tasted was a muddy, almost smoky, in-between flavor that seemed to more like the flavor of a lab experiment than that of a Christmas dinner. I didn’t exactly hate this flavor, but I didn’t enjoy it much either. — Chicken Baked in a Barley Crust: I’m not sure what happened to this dish, as well. Its barley-and-flour crust was mostly tasteless, with a texture best described as limp. Underneath, the chicken was somewhat moist, but had less flavor to it than I had been expecting. Although this wasn’t a bad dish, per se, it was also not one of the better dishes of the evening. — Roasted Lamb: Now this dish was an absolute delight! It was cooked perfectly, tender, succulent, with enough Indian-style spices to enhance the flavor o the meat, but not so much as to mask the flavor of the meat completely. This was by far the best dish of the meal. Desserts: Consisted of a plate of petit fours(which were most likely bought, rather than made by the staff here), as well as a massive serving dish of bread pudding. The petit fours were light, airy, and nice enough, but the bread pudding was off. They had put entirely too much egg mixture into it, making it more of a custard than a real bread pudding. For me, the perfect bread pudding is custardy only at the center, with a nice, rich crust at the top and the bottom for contrast. Overall Rating: I would give the food here 3.5÷5 stars, as they did not serve enough dishes in the«wow» category for the food to obtain a higher score from me. However, the ambience and the fast, friendly, efficient service here moves the overall rating for Hops Bar and Grill to 4⁄5 stars(although just barely). They’ll need to up the quality and flavor of the food they serve a bit if they are ever to get a higher score from me.

Although, the Biltmore hotel was just A-Okay, the Bar and Grill experience was great. The bartender was more than pleasant and really personable. The drinks were great although a little more pricy than what I would normally pay for at a bar connected to a hotel — more like club prices.

Fantastic Buffalo Wings. Light breading similar to «naked» wings at Hooters, only this meat is moist and tender. The sauce is served on the side, perfect for sharing between someone who likes it spicy while the other prefers mild. The blue cheese dressing is thick and has actual chunks or shall I say cubes of blue cheese. A yummy snack. The bar is pretty big. It has two flat screens and it’s 360 degrees. Dining tables line one side with a partition in between. Fast service as far as food goes. It was relatively slow when we came in at 7:30 on a Monday. The staff was clearly bored. But they were polite and accommodating, nonetheless. A good find. We just so happened to stumble upon it while walking around.

This bar is part of the Biltmore Hotel. We came here ‘cos one of our party was staying at the hotel and got two free drink vouchers for this fine establishment — and it allowed us to continue chatting and catching up after we finished dinner. Obviously geared towards business travelers staying at the hotel, it closes around 11pm. Clientele was your typical business crowd, lots of guys, with the occasional woman looking uncomfortable having to hang out with her male coworkers. The bar had some flat screen TV’s showing sports, for those business travelers traveling solo. A decent, though far from great, beer selection gets this place up to a three star review, though do remember, it’s a hotel bar geared at business travelers looking for a beer before retiring for the night. As such, it’s an A-OK experience. As a bar for a good night out for the locals, it’d score way less than three stars.
