Im mostly interested in the food. Some of he eatery stalls, and the grocery. Certainly Jang Su Jang is a marquee draw though the Galleria market is good for randoms and such. Parking and driving in this plaza is somewhat aggravating though.

Dropped in on a whim. Was jonesing for some kim chee; picked up some tofu sheets with chili and pickles kim style. I also picked up a four pak of pickled veggies: bean sprout, spinach, spicy shredded radish, etc. Makes for great sides if you have left over meat. Very fresh tasting kim chee’s. Tip: if you are pressed for time, there is a small deli in the front of the store, by the cash registers. Ton’s of products.

NEXT! More overpriced Korean food that is just average. Oh wait, you get a ton of choices of par to sub-par restaurants. Somehow that is supposed to make it better.

I love this place! If you want to eat a lot of food for under $ 10, this is the place to be. Many choices and many great combo’s to choose from should satisfy any Asian(Mostly Korean) food craving.

I recently discovered this plaza when I was home for Thanksgiving… and boy was I excited!!! This plaza is probably the best one I’ve been to in the San Jose area. Reasons? It’s super clean, has tons of tables, the food choices are good and the price is as good as it gets! There are about 4 «mini stores» to choose from, serving Japanese and Korean foods. I had Korean soft tofu soup with appetizers for less than $ 8! There is also a really good Japanese dessert place that serves shaved ice with fruit… the shaved ice is of a texture I have not had before… it didn’t even really taste like ice and was soft and creamy. I think the highlight of the plaza has to be the Korean bakery though… you have to get the pastry with the red or green bean in it!!! They also have tons of samples to try :)

If you’re familiar with korean/japanese market restaurants like hannam chains or Mitsuwa in Socal, this will feel like home. Living in the bay area, you miss the good fast food korean joints that other korean-saturated areas produce. This plaza, along with other mini stores which I didn’t check out, has your staple korean dishes like stews, sushi, soon-do-boo, bbq, yogurt, fried rice, etc. The prices are cheap(~$ 7 – 13) and the food I would say is decent, but not amazing. I came on a Sunday for lunch, and there was this middle-aged karaōke-esqe band singing a variety of old school jams, which was mildly entertaining. I wish there was something like this near Berkeley. It’s a great quick-stop food plaza that caters to a wide palate range. The even have a dope well-known bakery in the korean community right next door along with a korean market for your produce needs.

I always find Asian plaza’s like this get rated terribly because some people come in and are appalled by the condition of the upkeep and maintenance of some of the stores(especially stores serving /selling food) and other people find nifty niche items that they would not otherwise find anywhere else in the area. This plaza is definitely no different as there is such a huge variety of things here from groceries and food to real estate brokers and salons. You name it, it’s probably here somewhere(in Galleria Markets as well!) I really enjoy the little bit of culture that you get at places like this simply because you see how people would normally act in their most comfortable environment in their native languages and situations that are the norm to them(even if they might be strange and weird to you). You also find little surprises like sweet potato stands run by the kindest old man which brings you back to the old times(if you’re like me whose lived in a foreign country for a good portion of my life) where the street vendors sell things you could just grab for a few dollars while walking along your favorite market street bustling with transactional activity left and right. Give this shabby little plaza a chance and you might find something that catches your eye.
