My burger for $ 16 was very good and priced nicely for hotel food. My salad was first class and so was the service. This place is the best place to eat when attending the Santa Clara Convention for trade shows.

********************* 1514 ********************** A lobby bar at the Hyatt hotel by Santa Clara Convention Center, I come here during the DevCon conference. I enjoyed the spacious bar, good happy hour for this area, and well priced drink. Service is always good here too. Especially Miguel, he’s awesome.

The quality of food was wonderful but the drinks were over priced, and the service was awful! I went almost an hour without a refill and finally got up and got my own water from the water jug!!! Still waiting on sushi I ordered 45 minutes ago. I think the hotel understaffed, but with a large event like the one I attended today you’d think they’d staff according to how many rooms were booked and it being a Saturday night! Disappointed.

Came here after a concert at Levi’s Stadium, absolutely slammed. Jerome was our waiter and he was a fantastic bartender. Great martini even in the middle of a crush, very impressed!

I can not speak to the food or drink here because we never were able to order. Just left the place after speaking to the Hotels front desk manager. Worry not I told him to look at Unilocal later today so he could read my review. I do have to say he seemed genuinely concerned with our complaint, So that is good and the only reason I am giving a 2 star rating. OK here is the scene. This was the weekend of the big Pinball/video game convention. And I think there was some other convention going on as well. I heard it was Jehovah’s Witnesses, but I saw no clock towers so I can’t say for sure. Anyway, yes it was busy there but not any busier then any other time I have been at a convention here. The Bar was buzzing for sure but seemed to be well staffed, as it should be. They are attached to the convention center so this isn’t their first rodeo. We came in and sat at a communal table next to the bar. We sat for 10 minutes watching servers running all over the place. The first thing I noticed was that not one server was scanning the room or their tables. Every one of them was just focused on what ever they were doing at that moment. As if they were in the weeds but like I said it looked competently staffed for the crowd. I would wave and try to catch their attention but not one noticed the 300Lb 6’4″ dude with the blue mohawk trying to get their attention. That seems like a failure in training to me. So now 15 minutes into our wait a waitress came to other side of the table but took orders from the two people that just sat down. That’s when our friend got up when to the bar to ask if maybe they could send someone over. 5 minutes later that same woman finally came to us in a huff is if we interrupted her doing her job. I said«thanks for taking 20 minutes to finally try to serve us, and for serving those people over there that just sat down. Thank you but we have decided to not order anything from you» WIth no apologies given we moved to another section. We were still hungry and thirsty after all. We grabbed an un-bussed table in hopes that they might at least clear it and ask if we wanted something. 10 to 15 later after sitting there trying to wave down wait staff, and looking at someone’s dirty plate and empty drink we stood up and went to the front desk to tell our tail to the manager. Like I said before he seemed to care and when we were walking out of the hotel I did see the manger talking to someone from the bar staff. So I guess he did care?

The bartenders were very friendly, but that wasn’t enough to make up for the odd, sour, eccentric home cocktails that were on the menu for $ 12-$ 15. I honestly haven’t paid that much for such an awful drink ever. Would not recommend their cocktails, even their patron margaritas were sour to the point where I asked if they could add more mix. Would not recommend for drinks. Didn’t try the food.

It’s not the lowest cost burger, but I definitely found it to be a tasty burger! Paying $ 28.90 for a burger and hard cider is not something I do everyday, but when i do I want to feel like I have gotten some value for the bill. I am happy to say the TusCA Burger is good enough to justify eating in if your time is limited, or you just want to refrain from travelling off site. The ingredients: + 100% grass fed Strauss beef, + Pesto Aioli, + Mozzarella, + Onion Jam, + Tomato, + Arugula, + Brioche Bun, + Parmesan Truffle Fries Everything comes together to make a really tasty burger and fries. All the ingredients are quality. The quantity is also excellent as well For both individual items such as the huge Mozzarella slice, and for the overall plate. I opted to drop some bacon on my order. But in the end I thought the bacon was just«gilding the lily» so to speak. That is saying a lot for a burger when it does not benefit all that much from adding in bacon. The bacon itself was two and large and thick slices of quality maple smoked bacon I have rarely seen pop up at a good deli or meat market, much less at a hotel. So if you opt in for bacon you won’t be disappointed. Parmesan Truffle Fries are every bit as good as you might be imagining. Make sure you get them. But if you want plain fries or a side salad then those options also come with the burger. The hard cider on tap made a perfect compliment to the burger itself. Refreshing and just sweet enough to give you the taste of sweet to go along with the salt and spices of the burger. Just enough alcohol to clear out your mouth for the next bite. Even the water is a little better with lemon for every glass. I would expect this kind of thing at Evolution but it’s nice to know you don’t have to think about it. It jost comes and compliments the meal. As mentioned the quantity is excellent. I would say two average people could split the plate of burger and fries and still be ready for an afternoon out full of activities. So in the end the value is actually quite good for a hotel burger. Service was friendly and quick. I really enjoyed the bartenders and waiters at the Hyatt’s Evolution Bar & Café. The staff has it together on all fronts for offering just the right amount of queries without being intrusive. Great timing too. Overall it’s a win!

Being a bar in the middle of the lobby they’re also the hub for any of their other restaurants. Want Italian, Sushi or a Burger? You can get all of them at the same time here. Being out of the country for a while a burger was exactly what I wanted. they got the temperature, onion jam, mozz cheese and greens. Hit the spot and our server was solid. Pretty good for a hotel bar.

Hard to attach a name to this place, cuz it’s basically the lobby bar/lounge in the Hyatt Regency. So 98% of the clientele are either hotel guest or conventioneers from the adjacent convention center. I like to meet peeps here who work in the area, it is casual and loungey enough and everybody knows where it is at. I like to lounge in one of their sofa/coffee table set-ups and drink, munch and possibly catch scores on games. The service and food is basically corporate hotel but that just usually implies solid consistency but a heftier price tag(bring yo corporate card). This is not a cheap outing but it is clean and somewhat stylish. Appetizers are pretty good, fried calamari, cheese platter are all standards. I’ve even ordered entrées from the neighboring sit down restaurant«Tusca» to be served to me in my lounge area, balla like that! After dinner drinks and desserts are super conducive here. My last visit I tried a «Hit & Run» Cocktail from the bar menu and was so impressed. Though it was $ 14, it was a memory burning experience. Boutique bourbon, vermouth and garnished with brandied cherries. A new school manhattan if you will. It was smooth, more juicy than sweet, and those brandied cherries, OMG just set it off. They were tart, sweet and none of that artificial«maraschino» flavor/texture. I ordered extra cherries on my second and final drink. Straight money! ps. This place is gonna be poppin’ when the new Niners stadium opens up. Just sayin’.

Understaffed on the night of an event… Standing at the bar 15mins prior to last call and then we are told that they won’t serve us because last call was already made…(Which we heard and waited for)… Though the bartender never even so much as GLANCED our way. We were more than patient and understanding in wait knowing that they had only staffed one bartender… But waiting 30mins to then be turned away without notice is poor customer service. We also asked for a manager and waited another 10mins to still never see him/her.

I like this bar… But mostly cuz I have to. I live and work in the area and there are simply NO decent places to get a happy hour beer after work in this part of town except maybe for Faultline. So I come here occasionally with the boys. It is not that expensive and the atmosphere doesnt really feel like a hotel bar. Its nice and big and the bartenders are pretty good.

This is a great hotel bar. It’s expensive, as are all hotel bars, but the staff is great. The food is also well above hotel fair. Calamari and shrimp tacos are highly recommend. Also, there is a sushi bar here. Had many of the maki rolls. Everything was delicious. I would. specifically recommend the dungeons crab roll. Handy note: you can sit in the bar, and order from the(highly rated… but I didn’t try it) Italian restaurant or the(awesome) sushi bar.

This place is the place to be when staying at the Hyatt or when attending a conference at the convention center. It is located in the lobby of the hotel. The lobby space is pretty open and has high ceilings. The Evolution Bar and Café is steps away from check-in desk, so you can literally check-in and eat/drink. I was here during a convention and the place was pretty crowded every single day and night. Everyone is here until the late hours of the night/early hour of the next morning. With plenty of bar stools and tables it is completely acceptable to come here alone or in groups. They also provide service outside by the pool which is gorgeous and the outside does have heat lamps in case you get cold. The only appetizer I tried was their sliders which were pretty good. Definitely a happening place for Silicon Valley business travelers.

So a few weeks since being here during a corporate training, and I completely blanked on where the heck I was when just looking at the name«Evolution Bar & Café»! Probablty a good sign that you should just call it the Hyatt Bar. But to get down to business… NEVER, NEVER, NEVER shake a Manhattan! Like EVER!!!

It was a nice little bar located inside of the Hyatt Regency Santa Clara. I was here both nights having drinks and I tried out some of the food/appetizers too. The drinks were made strong as far as prices go I believe the beer on tap was around $ 5 and well drinks were $ 8 – 10. Calamari: Honestly calamari is hard to mess up, but it’s hard to make good calamari. The calamari here was pretty flavorful and I really like how they grilled the lemon. The seasoning for the calamari batter was very good as well. The only thing that I had an issue with is that they did not give enough marinara sauce! $ 12 Chicken Caesar salad wrap: For a quick bite to eat it was pretty decent. It needed a little more Caesar salad dressing, but they give plenty of chicken. Also for the wrap and a little side of grapes it was only $ 5 even. So was it worth it? I guess it was.

We came here after the Ski and Snowboard Festival for a drink with friends. We picked it because there was a big sign outside the hotel advertising their DAILY happy hour. When we sat down we were told that this was not the case– happy hour was only m-th. Prices were really high and for 4 watered down drinks, the bill was almost $ 50. Drinks were weak and we were disappointed already due to the false advertising about happy hour. Will not be back.
