Super Hungry after wearing off my buzz with a nap. 8PM on a Sunday night… who would want to really leave their hotel under those circumstances? Not me. I came in here to order food, their greeting customer service was really weak but because I was wearing my Bengals gear I had A.J. McCarron’s dad come and greet me and talk football so they ain’t losing points for that. The menu is comprised of bar food. I almost steak sandwiched it but the nachos sounded better. I got it to go. came back 20 minutes and they had it ready… This time service was on point. they gave me all the necessary sauces and utensils to enjoy my meal, paying was a breeze. I won’t lie, if I was a bit more rested and cheery I would have ate inside, the tv’s and bar set up is inviting. Food… Nachos: They did a good job of just boxing them with the cheese, beans and chicken(they don’t come with chicken, added it).and then dixie cuping the avocado, sour cream and pico de gallo.thanks.the portions were super big too and all matched each other. I mean I was not expecting these to be stellar and taste like a Mexican restaurant’s nacho offering but they were clean and fresh. Really filling as well! Made to share. 3.5÷5 Onion Rings: Good stuff. Right up there with the good chains as far as matching up to what you would want from a bar appetizer. Crispy and enough to feel somewhat indifferent about the prices. 4⁄5 You can say this place is expensive, but what do you expect, it’s inside a hotel and with no decent options within walking distance it doesn’t hurt to cough up the extra 25% mark up on food. It isn’t bad and its accommodating. If you’re going to be cheap you might as well of stayed at the Days Inn across the street.

Characters just completely revamped their menu and executed it to perfection! I had the Greek chicken sandwich and can honestly say it was the best sandwich I’ve had in my entire life. Everything was fresh and each component was cooked, cut, portioned exactly how you would want it. Fantastic and welcoming service. I feel terrible for doubting this place just because it’s a hotel sports bar!

I came in for dinner after arriving in Santa Clara for work. It has a good ambience for a sports bar and definitely fits the part with a lot of tv’s pretty visible from everywhere. I had the fish & chips(one of my standby dishes pretty much everywhere). It wasn’t anything to write home about, but it wasn’t the worst I’d had either. It was decent enough to be pleased with, so I was fine with the food. However, my service was EXTREMELY lacking. The only reason I didn’t give a 1-star review was that it was game 1 of the World Series and the place was packed, so I’m willing to give them a bit of a pass. Regardless though, my server took my order, never came back to check on me except for one time to refill my drink, which is when I asked for my check, if that gives any sort of indication. Some may say«Well maybe he was busy», which was true, but he walked by my table multiple times throughout the night and never once asked«How is everything?», «Do you need anything?», or even«Doing OK here?» At one point I overheard another server ask him if another table was his and when he said yes, she mentioned«Ok, because they’re waiting to order» so it wasn’t even just me. Service is a big deal for me which is why I rated them so low, even though the food was ok. In all honesty, I’ll probably eat here again if I’m in town for business and staying at the Marriott, but otherwise it’s not worth going out of my way for.

If a loud sports bar is what you’re looking for, this place is fine. Odd as a hotel dining spot. The burgers were good — a bit greasy. Priced far too high.

$ 10 for chips. $ 8 for a domestic beer. No thanks. Bennigans is across the street. Atmosphere is nice but TVs are awkwardly placed. Sitting at the bar, you only have access to 132 inch Tv. Who thought about the TV placement here. Definitely bypass. Paid my $ 8 beer tab and left.

$ 15.95 for the most sub-par nachos made with cheese-wiz and $ 4.50 for an iced tea. Who the hell do these people think they are? Service was fine. Menu extremely over-priced. Will not return, even though it’s right in the hotel I am staying at. I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but this was out of control. Wah! I’m such a complainer.

I ordered their Angus cheeseburger and it was pretty ordinary. Very similar to the burgers of chain restaurants such as tgif or Applebee’s

Whoever priced this place as a 2 dollar restaurant needs to get smacked. It is not a 2 dollar place. Sports bar selling a burger $ 17.95 crazy. Great environment but prices are insane.

Nice sports bar. Prices are kind of high. Food was good. Lots of TVs and sports memorabilia. Crespin cider on tap was good. Food arrived in a reasonable amount of time.

Totally NOT up to Marriott standards. waiting 30 + minutes for a bowl of Chili, that came without the requested add in of beef, and totally luke warm. I ordered before a large party of 14 had even sat down, and they got both their apps and entrees, before my chili arrived. Not to mention the absurdly high prices would be a shame

Characters is a nice little sports bar located within the Santa Clara Marriott. It is open really late and has pretty much a full bar/menu. This is definitely a good spot to grab a drink or two prior to a 49ers game. The cucumber refresher and their beer menu is actually quite solid. The downside to this place is the price: $ 20 for a chicken Caesar salad, that’s on the smaller side… This place also doubles as the breakfast spot for platinum and gold Marriott members on days when the concierge lounge isn’t open.

I ate here a while ago(last year during football season) but just joined the Unilocaling community today. I had come here on the hunt for a nice, somewhat quiet place, which I intended to patronize regularly, to watch(and hear) the games and enjoy some good food. Those requirements were easily met. I really like that it isn’t one of the«main drag» spots that«everybody» knows about… or one of those«total drag» spots that«nobody» should know about. It has a very nice atmosphere, a plethora of TV screens(I loved the HUGE main screen), tasty food and an exceptionally pleasant staff. I truly enjoyed my dining experience… that is, until I had to pay the check. While I have absolutely no problem paying«a bit extra» at any place that meets & exceeds my requirements, the prices here are just a bit«out of the ball park». Yes, I do realize that the location: Marriott — Silicon Valley — Levi Stadium is a major factor in the inflated prices but I feel like I’d pretty much have to win the lottery to be able to be a «regular» patron here. Soooo…even though this is one of very few desirable locations that is open today(Thanksgiving) and I would really love to watch the game here, the prices(and horrible traffic expected after the game) are big deterrents. I’ll probably end up compromising for one of the«dive» sports bars closer to home. I’ll post something from wherever I end up… unless I just decide to stay home.

Sat at the bar it was a little crowded because of the 49ers game. It got empty quick as soon as it was over though. Ordered a little food and drink. The bartender Juan was fantastic. Very in tune to the customers around, he was basically working the bar by himself. Great place to eat when any kind of college or major televised games are on to eat at.

So this is getting lower marks due to the fact that for one hamburger and one bottle of beer. its over $ 30 with tip. and that wasn’t a special beer. Just a coors light. Sorry. the burger isn’t that good. Good yes. but these are more like airport prices. The food is pretty good. the service is good with staff that all smiles and is helpful. The prices are a bit off base. The burgers are served on some wood plank thing. Hard to keep things clean and I am not a fan of the wood serving platters for things like burgers. We also had the chili and fish and chips on other stops. Everyone that had the chili liked it as did I. Worth a try. again. spendy for a small bowl. but good.

This sports bar is pretty cool(literally) and laid back located next to Parcel 104 inside the Marriott. There are TVs everywhere so you really cant find a bad seat in the house. The burgers were bigger than my face! We ordered the heart attack burger which I would rank as #1, it comes with mushrooms, bacon and an egg. I love the mushrooms on the heart attack! The juicy pink of the burger … was amazing! It was so juicy and tender, the juice would ooze down your fingers. The Angus burger was amazing as well. It’s pretty much the heart attack without the egg. The burgers were easily 4.5 stars. Milkshakes were awesome, smooth and creamy. I personally preferred the vanilla one over chocolate. The blacken salmon is a 3.8, the pesto sauce was pretty yummy but I felt like it was something I could make at home. I think it was around 25 or 28 something dollars. That’s too much for something I can make myself. I think the burgers were around 14 – 18 dollars with 3 dollars for toppings. Tazo tea collection was meh. come for the burgers! We waited about 20 – 30 minutes for food and the temperature was chilly. I would take away 1 star for those two things but there burgers were yummy so I rounded up. :)

Great environment. Celebrated Fathers Day w husband and sons. Great service and we watched the World Cup game. I had green salad w salmon. Everything was fresh and delicious. Started w a hummus appetizer, pita and vegies. Way overpriced for what we got. The burgers were $ 18.00! My boys froze from being too cold, but I brought a jacket.

This place is very expensive. I ordered the heart attack burger minus the egg and mushrooms. it was pretty tasty. the onions were grilled to sweet perfection and the bacon was nice and crispy. the fries were ok. im not a fan of natural cut fries. these fries were thick cut. more like steak fries. my total was $ 20 for a burger and fries. Expensive. im staying at the hotel and thts the only reason why I went to this restaurant.

Stopped by for dinner here after arriving late from Honolulu on a conference/work trip to the Santa Clara area. I’ll keep this short and sweet: + It’s a sports bar(sort of), so there are a fair number of televisions. + It’s located INSIDE the Marriott Santa Clara making it a great place to eat if you’re staying there. + Open til midnight. + Pretty diverse menu as far as sports bars go. + Service was friendly and FAST(a huge plus for me). + Tons of beers on tap. + Portions are VERY large. + Super clean. + Not loud in the least. You could actually have a conversation, if you wanted to, without screaming at each other. + Lots of parking. — Very expensive!!! The cheapest thing on the menu(that wasn’t a side order) was $ 15. Good thing I wasn’t paying :-) — Felt like I needed to dress better, but I didn’t get kicked out for my shorts and t-shirt.(In my defense, I did just step off the plane from Hawaii). Overall, a very good experience.

The hotel bar It has a nice selection of different beers on tab and bottles. The burgers are ok but a bit expensive. There are a few TVs showing different sport channels and a lot of jerseys at the walls. The place can get quite noisy, so not ideal when you want to discuss something. The thing that disappointed me most, was the service which was bad on multiple nights. Waiting 30 minutes after signalling that you want to pay is not ok! And then the receipts were even wrong ;( Ok for a quick drink, but I would go elsewhere if you have the time
