Best BBQ joint in town. The bacon cheeseburgers are freaking amazing. The salad is bomb. Garlic bread is always good(i dip it in the cheese sauce) I always buy a couple bottles of the BBQ sauce to take home. It amazing

Perhaps it’s us, but if you like good flavor you won’t find it here. We wanted to like it but there is something lacking. Granted, we didn’t slather the meat with the sauce they give you. We prefer to taste the meat itself, with enhancement from the smoke and rub. The portions and service are pretty good and what gets them the stars. But this will NOT be a place we visit again. There are better bbqs in the vicinity.

First time here and last minute dinner choice that we won’t be making again. When you get there the place smells great but once the food arrives you will be disappointed. I ordered the baby back ribs, super dry and more like eating jerky, baked potatoes come with cheese sauce which is like canned nacho cheese or something. My husband had the new York steak NOTONEBITOFFLAVOR… don’t be afraid to season your food. I think you are supposed to use the BBQ sauce that the bring on everything but the sauces are no good either. Kraft mac n cheese for $ 10. Go anywhere else.

Have always driven by this place and finally ate here. I was a bit shocked by the sticker price of the menu items but liked the combo plates and ala carte items. The servings were huge and I think, match the price you pay. They were garlic bread right from the get go. We ordered the pulled pork and requested it it could be a sandwich, no problem. We also ordered two combo plates, brisket & ribs; and pulled pork & baby back ribs that both came with sides. Again the portions were huge. For dessert we had the peach cobbler… Yummy. The folks that work here are great! They walk a around checking the tables, taking empty dishes away and asking if we wanted refills or anything else. Don’t eat BBQ often but we’re looking forward to coming back here.

I wish I could give this no stars. The tri tip tastes like day old meat that’s been reheated in au jus. It’s not tender, has no smokey flavor, and was generally disgusting. The green dinner salad was decent though. However, upon learning that we did not like our meal(I ate just two bites of mine) management did not charge us for our dinners and we appreciated that.

Disappointing, unfortunately. I’ve been to Andy’s once before, years ago, and didn’t find it particularly memorable. This visit was memorable, albeit for the wrong reasons. The first part of our meal went well. We got our drinks, ordered our meal, got salads, got garlic bread… and then waited. And waited. And waited. All four of us were commenting on the long wait and noting that the restaurant was only 1⁄3 full at best. Despite flagging our waitress down a couple of times and getting«it should be almost ready, just a few minutes», it took a good 45 minutes to an hour to get our food. And once we did get it, we discovered that 1) the fries were bland and tasted old, 2) there was very little meat on the baby back ribs(we all contributed some of our dinner to my dad, who was sitting there hungry and unhappy), 3) the peach cobbler had a very strange texture and wasn’t really a cobbler at all but a spongy cake-like thing. Overall, this was a big miss for us.

I’ve had Andy’s catering many times and was never really impressed. Given the fact that catered good Isn’t always as good as cooked to order, I decided to give it a try. The restaurant has a super old school décor,(wood paneling and all). It’s just a casual, neighborhood joint. The food is good but not great. I ordered the brisket, which was a little on the dry side. My friend’s ribeye was over cooked too. The salad is pretty good and so is the garlic bread(if you don’t like smokey food, this is not for you). Overall this place is fine, but I would probably choose to try other bbq places.

Oh Andy’s, I really wished that you were the Andy’s that I remember from old times. Alas, you are not. The place was busy on Friday when we visited. The wait time was nothing. I was hoping that this would be a sign of positive things to come. Nope, down hill from here. The service was s… l…o…w… It really wasn’t that the waitress was overwhelmed we saw her a lot. She seemed to lack the ability to focus on multiple things. One thing at a time. I was already hangry so maybe I am being harsh. We ordered a 4 item combo plate. In the past the portions were hearty. Not any more. We asked for garlic bread. We wait. The other tables around us get garlic bread. We wait. We ask again. We wait. After she brings more to the table next to us she then asks. Oh, did you not get your bread? Uh, no. You would have been the person to drop it off and you can’t remember that you haven’t. The food was a very small portion for $ 25. We got the brisket. It was pretty good. We have had better. We had the pork shoulder which was nice and moist but lacked flavor. The two things that DID wow us were the links. We had a Cajun and a polish. Holy wow they were tasty. We were visiting from out of town and were craving this. Unfortunately this killed any future cravings. So long Andy’s.

My favorite place for bbq! I always get the ribeye and it does not disappoint! The loaded baked potato is dreamy and the grilled garlic bread tops it all off. Portions are big, so sharing isn’t a bad idea unless you like left overs.

I’m sorry to have to do this review update. But, tonight’s experience overshadows the years of great meals and parties we’ve enjoyed at Andy’s. Me: «Can we get some bread?» Andy’s: «sure.» Basket of 4 slices for 3 people. It’s good, so, as we have done in like FOREVER we ate it up. Me: «can we trouble you for more bread?» Andy’s: «sure.» Basket of 2 slices for 3 people. I’m thinking, okay, maybe they’re making more??? Entrees arrive(extremely late, sadly). Me: «can we please have more bread?» Andy’s: «well, sure, but you’re gonna have to buy a half loaf(aka the appetizer bread order for $ 8.95) because I can’t bring you any more bread.» In one fell swoop, you made a long-time, very supportive patron into a bread beggar. In that instant, it did not matter how the food was, how the drinks were, how the service was. All that mattered is that Andy’s placed the cost of a few slices of bread before the value of my experience(read: future experiences). And, you’ve put your staff in the very precarious position of having to uphold this extreme shift in policy. There are at least a half dozen effective tactics Andy’s could have considered to reduce the waste of too much left over bread or to enact possible cost containment measures. This approach is not among them. I do not think that this was a well thought out decision and I hope you reconsider it. In any event, I wish you luck. I have many good memories associated with Andy’s. I will leave it at that. Seriously, my kids grew up going to your restaurant just like I did with my parents at the Campbell location. Shame on you.

If I could give NOSTARS I would. my family was in the mood for some GOODBBQ for Super Bowl & this was absolutely HORRIBLE& highly over priced(it was via Door Dash) for what we got! Now I know WHY the delivery arrived almost 30 minutes BEFORE the estimated time. We’ve been passing this place up for over 2 years since living in San Jose & clearly we will continue to PASS it up. pls see my attached pics before ordering food from here, you’ll be GRATEFUL to SAVE your money! The pic of the plate is supposed to be a 3 meat combo & I swear it should have been 2 meat for the lack of chicken I received. dried out &OLD looking chicken. sad to say El Pollo Loco Chicken looks more appetizing! The pic of the Mac & Cheese entrée is from the kids menu for $ 9.00+(via Door Dash) & it literally looks like BOX Kraft Mac & Cheese. truly pitiful!

We came to Andy’s for a business lunch and had really high hopes. My coworker said it came with high praises from a woman he’d talked to so we were eager to try it. We came in and were the ONLY ones in the place. Now granted that it was 18 minutes after they opened it wasn’t any sort of a red flag. 11:18 isn’t the normal lunch rush so there was no concern. Our server who’s name slips my mind was very attentive and quite friendly which isn’t as easy to find as you’d think in this area. Drinks(sodas, remember it’s a work lunch) came quickly and we did notice a decent beer selection on tap but opted out of alcohol with lunch. We had a couple questions on the menu and they were answered by our waitress with great responses so the choice wasn’t easy. My toss up was between the Tri-tip sandwich(fries, beans, or slaw) or the Brisket sandwich and she said«Hands down Brisket»… Brisket it is!!! Fries please and«How are the beans?». She said they were kinda sweet but ensured me they were good. OK, I’ll have a side of those too. I guess here’s as good a place as any to note that we also ordered a box to go for another coworker that drew the short straw and stayed to babysit the job. We ordered him the Combo Chicken and half rack of baby backs. The food comes fairly quickly, and why shouldn’t it since the meat has been cooking for HOURS right? On my plate there’s a round roll that’s lightly toasted and loaded with brisket, a heap of fries, and a side of BBQ sauce and one of ketchup(catsup for you people that spell it incorrectly). I quickly dip a french fry into the BBQ sauce to try it. I like it… I don’t love it but I like it. I pull a piece of the meat from the bun and bite into it and it’s pretty good. Not the smoky flavor that I was hoping for but not too shabby. Fries are crisp but do require a lot of salt but then again potatoes always need salt. All in all a decent sized meal but lacking in flavor and zip that is typically associated with great BBQ. Now the beans. some may argue that you can tell a lot about a BBQ joint by their beans. I tend to agree and today my point is further solidified. I was told that the beans were«a little sweet» but they were not sweet and were in fact quite bland. The flavor and consistency would have let me to believe that they were from a can but i was assured when I ordered them that they were made in house. A somewhat dissatisfying and flavorless lunch that will undoubtedly be my first and last at Andy’s. Ohhhh, remember that to go order for the poor guy we left at work. Well, we stopped at a local office supply store on the way back and when we returned to my truck I expected the flavor of smoky, meaty goodness to overwhelm me and … nothing! No smoke, no meat, no odoriferous aromas of deliciousness. Just the usual smell of a construction work truck.

We came here last night with some friends who have been wanting to take us here for a while. So Andy’s gets 4 starts because the 4 of us all enjoyed our BBQ… a lot! One of the first things you notice are the catering vehicles out front. They cater parties and special events. I’ve also seen them at some festivals around the area. We all started the salad which was pretty run of the mill but I won’t take anything away because of that. The lettuce was fresh and crisp and there was a choice of 5 dressings. Glad I got my dressing on the side because they give you way too much. They also gave us a generous plate of Garlic Bread which I thought was good. Not too crunchy, actually it was pretty good, we ate it all :) I had the sliced Brisket which I really enjoyed. It was very tender, juicy, just smokey enough, it had the nice bark ring and I highly recommend it to everyone. I had the side of Baked Beans and they were pretty bland. My wife had the two item combo and chose Baby Back ribs and Pork Shoulder, it also came with Cole Slaw. Our friends had Italian sausage, Tri Tip and the Beef Ribs, and some colossal sized baked potatoes. So as far as Meat goes we all thought it was great! I was happy that the BBQ sauce was not slathered all over the top of your plate. Instead they give you two cups of sauce, one spicy and one not spicy. Of course you can ask for more but we had plenty left over. I had a bite of our friends peach cobbler which was huge and it was very good. I was way too stuffed to have anymore than a bite. The décor is pretty dated but that just adds to the charm. The music matches the décor and it really seemed to pull it all together. There is a separate bar area with additional tables. I’d have to say that their presentation leaves a bit to be desired. Look at the pic of my untouched brisket and beans. Be sure to check out their website for their history and other information about Andy’s. We’ll definitely be back to try some of their other items!

They ration out their bbq sauce and ketchup– not even enough ketchup for a side of fries. The baked beans were disgusting. They tasted more like vinegar than anything. My chicken was dry but my bfs was moist. And we didn’t get our garlic bread with our dinner. The service wasn’t great but it wasn’t awful. It would have been nice if our waiter offered us more bbq sauce when he saw our tiny portion cups were bone dry. Oh, this is also an old people hang out which doesn’t mean much but could explain the bad food. To quote my bf «well I’d say my bbq craving wasn’t satisfied but it’s more like my bbq craving was destroyed»

After getting the thumbs up(and an increase in budget lol!) to order BBQ for my office, I set out to Unilocal!Done my research for multiple BBQ places that caters and finally decided on Andy’s Bar-B-Que; and aren’t I glad I did! Though at first it was kind of difficult to get into contact with someone because there were so many different phone numbers listed on their website! Take a look yourself and I’m sure you can see at least 3, and one of them goes directly to their catering department(It’s 408−313−5797 btw!). I got in touch with Lucie, who was helpful and cordial. I had a question regarding vegetarian options**(at a bbq place? lol) and she walked me through the ordering process online. **Note: If you opt to sub for Boca burgers, they will just lessen the portions of the regular meats. It’s so great cause you don’t lose a meat option this way! So for my specific order, I got: Pork Spareribs Beef Brisket BBQ Chicken Two types of sausage: Polish and Italian Subbed less meat for some Boca burgers BBQ Beans w brisket pieces inside! Coleslaw Mac Salad Garlic Bread All this for an estimated 50 people cost a little under $ 1000! For the amount of food we got, I’d say it was worth it. We still have leftovers as I write this review… I wasn’t able to try the sausage, but since they’re gone so fast, I can only think they were good! As for the chicken, brisket, and ribs… omg so moist and juicy. The Boca burger was tasty. The coleslaw and garlic bread were standard, the beans were on the sweeter side, and the mac salad was kinda bland to me, but I did enjoy the crunchy peppers in it. I also was delighted by the customer service at Andy’s! When I went to pickup my order(I only wished I had gotten delivery for the convenience), I was met by someone sweeping the floors. His name is Sean and he was really nice and helpful. The other lady who I assume was Lucie was just as nice and helpful! She provided all the extras and had Sean help load the stuff into my car. In the end, Andy’s has made me a happy customer and I will most likely return here with some friends! Thank you for feeding this hungry group of workers! EDIT!!!: Just tried another piece of their garlic bread and I just noticed that there are little bits and pieces of garlic on there. Wow! I ate like 4 more after that. :)

The big plus — they have BBQ Beef Ribs, but only on Mondays. The down side is that the ribs did not have much meat on them. Perhaps my problem was that I was driving by and saw the sign for Beef RIbs… but it was a Tuesday. I thought I’d give them a try anyway. When I mentioned that it was a shame that they only serve beef ribs on a Monday, I was told that they had one rack of ribs left over from the day before, so I ordered the 5 bone BBQ Beef ribs platter($ 21.25, which includes salad, garlic bread, and one of baked beans, baked potato, french fries, potato salad or cole slaw). My wife had the half slab of baby back ribs($ 18.75(with the same accompanying items)). This was a take out order, and I only had to wait about 15 to 20 minutes on a Tuesday evening around 7pm. At home, we discovered that the meet on the ribs was somewhat on the thin side. There wasn’t a whole lot on the bones. It was tasty. The side dishes(we had a baked potato and beans) were ordinary, the sauces were good. The garlic bread was great. They have totally different menus for lunch and dinner. For lunch you can get sandwiches, but sandwiches are not offered at dinner time. For dinner sandwiches, it was suggested that you order your meat by the pound(or presumably fraction of a pound)(priced between $ 16 to $ 17 per pound) and then buy individual French rolls($ 1.50) or burger buns($ 1). I was really glad that they even offer beef ribs. Maybe if you order them on the night they are featuring them, they would be better and meatier. I’ll probably try Andy’s again on a Monday night just to test this theory.

This is my Dad’s favorite BBQ joint. Located in a very unassuming location on El Camino in Santa Clara, you can smell the bbq from blocks away. The interior is very old school: lots of booths, worn out carpet, etc. The best part of coming to Andy’s is the garlic bread that they cook on the grill. It melts in your mouth! Get the family platter if you are there with other people. Its worth it so that you can sample each of the different kinds of smoked meat.

Andy’s BBQ is a great place to try some grub on! Although known for their bbq, the friendly staff is what keeps people comin’! Wish when we get the bbq though, it is still hot from the grill… but hey, it is still good! Gotta try it to find out what I’m talkin’ about right? Experienced-Sampler 2(all meat good for 2!)

The service here is excellent as is the food. Aside from Armadillo Willy’s(also one of my Nor Cal South Bay favorites) there’s not a lot of good solid BBQ options that I know of. I just discovered Andy’s BBQ and it was very good. I’d recommend this to fans of the grilled meats. The Peach Cobbler is good for desert too!
