Someone on State St. told me that this Vons was 24 hours and sells alcohol. I came here around 12:30am and walked up to the door. Open sesame? No dice…

Hi! I’m here to review Vons, in Santa Barbara(CA), on Victoria(St). All my girlfriend and I wanted, last night at 9:30 pm, was a piece of fruit. Being in California, I assumed we would be able to find a reasonably fresh and well-presented selection of produce from which to choose. Walking into this Vons was like walking into a zombie crackhouse. The lighting was poor, the liquor was extremely overwhelming as far as vision marketing was concerned. Not only that, but the produce section was nonexistent. Well, it was hidden. All we saw was a large crate of bartlett pears on some sort of deep discount — NOTHANKS! We had to walk around the whole store just to find where the fruit was placed which if you’re an American between the ages of 18 and forever is unheard of. I call boycott. Everyone knows you should be able to walk in to ANY grocery store and IMMEDIATELY be routed to apples and oranges. Duh. Gotta Go! Yeah, thanks! Keep your eyes peeled for my reviews. Sure to be refreshing. PIECE.

Convenient downtown location, but this place is small and old and the carts are in rough shape too. I ordered a cake from their bakery this past weekend for my son’s birthday(had to be a LIghtening McQueen cake, so we were pretty limited to grocery store cakes since we were on the road) and they had to make it a day ahead because there’s no one there to make cakes on Sunday. The service was reluctant. The cake looked nice and tasted okay. I was just glad they had the character my son wanted on his cake in stock.
