Amazing bread! I am from Germany, so expectations are high. We have had so far the rosemary & olive bread, lavender, and walnut bread and all of them taste like heaven. They are $ 6-$ 7 a piece, but it’s worth it. Highly recommended.

Regrettably this bakery is now closed! Located in what could have been a cool development — Santa Barbara Public Market – is Crazy Good Bread. The breads are true artisan made and while a bit pricy worth every penny. The bread last a week, not like supermarket breads. There are a variety of flavors available. Get there early as they do run out of product everyday. There are other good tenants at the SBPB, but the place just kind of leave me cold. It has none of the charm of the Ferry Building in San Francisco or Pyke’s Market in Seattle. It just kind of looks like the developer ran out of money.

Their bread meets up with their name. It’s crazy good, and there are many unique flavors. I never would have thought to bake bread with lavender or other delicious flavors. Yum! I have eaten their lavender shortbread cookies and also tried their chocolate croissant. Delish! I’m going to try the pretzel bread soon. And the chocolate black pepper bread looks really tempting. Also, I always get service with a smile here.

all i can say is, get the pretzel bread. I usually buy from the owner out at the USCB Farmers market on Wednesday and she is just the sweetest! And her bread ROCKS!!!

The bread here is fresh and delicious of course — but I wanted to add that their shortbread cookies were surprisingly amazing! They came in fun flavors like lavender and chocolate orange :).

Crazy Good Bread is a product like no other! Hand made,(not easy to find) and with the most unique flavors. You can actually pair this bread with wine. The bread is also good long after the first day and delish for making croutons, french toast and crostini. Run, don’t walk to the Public Market in SB. It’s an adventure and fabulous food experience. I will be back to try more flavors and see what they come up with next.

My friends and I got the two pound loaf of the original country loaf and demolished it throughout the course of the day. Their bread is indeed crazy good. I’m definitely hitting this place up next time I’m in town. Service is a bit slow; technology didn’t seem to be cooperating but I don’t know how often that’s an issue.

Since the SB Public Market opened, we’ve been getting pastries here every so often. The first couple times, they were fresh-baked and very good. We were expecting the same today. However, I have a suspicion that the croissants and danishes that we got today were left over from a previous day. They didn’t taste fresh, and the fillings inside seemed slightly cold, as if the pastry had been thawed or at least left out for a very long period since being baked. It was disappointing, since we were expecting the same high quality as before. If I were to rate today’s pastries, I would give them a 2. When fresh, I would rate them a 4.

So I finished that sampler loaf. It was amazing. The bread held up for a couple days on crispness of the outside and softness of the inside. 4-star bread. But so pricey at $ 14 a sampler loaf. I’m truly unable to determine the difference between 3 and 4 stars overall. Guess I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. Why charge that much? It seems wrong and I feel a bit violated. Quality food gets exorbitant prices, but this is just good bread not enlightening bread.
