Place is a joke. Poor service, rude staff. Walk past and find the other dozen places with some sort of class and service. Go in at you own risk. Poor security and poor awareness of safety of patrons. This place has thugs in attendance and thugs working it. Dangerous place for customers.

Really great service! If you need help with tickets/will call leave them a voicemail and they will get back to you and help you with anything you need. Probably not the best place to play at if you are a smaller band because of their large pre sale requirement, but it’s a great venue overall.

Velvet Jones is a good olé’ venue to go see music. Nice small and intimate… all covered in sweat. The walls have giant black and white murals to greats(My fave is Cash with the finger). The owner, Craig, is a real standup guy and is just trying to give us something other than Top 40 crap in the form of live music. The bar is great with everything you could want(including Pabst Blue Ribbon for 2.50 or so). The upstairs has a Galaga/Pacman Machine and a separate little side bar. They recently built a back patio, as well as Handy’s Pizza inside(Compliments of my roommate. Will write a review of their pizza next). I can’t stress how many great shows I have seen here. From punk to hip-hop to reggae to indie power pop… Velvet Jones gives Santa Barbara’s music scene a reason to exist.
