When I finally realized I had to invest in a bike that wouldn’t breakdown going up a small hill, I spent a week looking in the bike shops in SB. The staff at Velo Pro took the time to show me what they had, and find a bike in my price range. I have had the bike for 4 years. If anything happens to it, they take care of it for a reasonable price. It’s also nice that you can drop it off over night and pick it up at a convenient time.

I went to Velo Pro because they were listed as a Surly dealer. It was my first time ordering a brand new bike. When I arrived, I had a great experience with Fernando– he wasn’t even on the clock, but took the time to walk me through the order process. I left feeling like it would be a good experience overall. Unfortunately, it went down from there. I picked up my bike and got it home to find several problems with the assembly, including the tires being 20PSI over the manufacturers max inflation, one tire was a lessor model than the one specified, one rim had a gouge in the braking surfaces, the fenders were installed improperly, brakes were not adjusted at all, and the front dérailleur was not tuned. I later came to find out the pedals were installed without washers, permanently gouging my aluminum cranks. When we contacted them to resolve these issues, I was given the run around and ultimately the issues were ignored. I wish I could have had a better experience when spending $ 2000 to commission my first new bike. I will be finding somewhere else for my bike needs.

Cool store and staff. They are pretty close to our place, which was super lucky when I got a blowout on my bike a couple of blocks from home. They have a nice tech shop in back and lots of cool gear.
