There are three ways to eat here… 1. Sit in covered, semi open air seating(heaters) 2. Sit in the beach… sand in your toes… tables and chairs literally in the sand! 3. Walk up snack bar for take out The staff is very nice, maybe a little understaffed. I had to finally get up and go ask at the register for the side I’d requested. But they were busy so it’s ok. The menu has an awesome selection… and the price is HIGH. I did notice some of the same items on the snack bar menu were much cheaper. We sat by the window looking out at the beach. There are heated vents along all the walls… Which was AWESOME. It was cold. Very clean and simple good food, just pricey … But hey, you’re in Santa Barbara! Also, there is a kids menu… and when the kids are done, I noticed several just went out onto the beach and played while their parents watched. So I’d say kid friendly!

Had the Country Scramble again this morning and it was delicious! We sat in side, as it was foggy and cold out, but the heaters were on, the place was quiet and the view spectacular! We love sitting on the beach when it’s nice out, awesome location and staff.

Stopped here on the way home to san jose ca. Googled best beachfront restaurants and this came up 5 stars my opinion maybe a 3. Appetizers showed up when our food showed up. Ordered the steamed mussels but looks like they didnt clean the mussels very we well there was still seaweed all in them, they brought over plates for the appetizer and they were dirty. Service wasn’t very attentive until a shift change where Ashley took over and made it better. Food was ehhhh.

Decent food. We had carnitas tacos and tuna Atmosphere was very family friendly and loud. Service was good. Busy, loud, and breezy. Just not what we were looking for — nice dinner on the beach. Very casual

Service was great, Ulises the manager was awesome. The food was amazingly fresh. I order the special Pescado Ranchero and loved every bite. Grilled Yellowtail served on top of 2 tostadas black beans, eggs and a very light but flavorful Ranchero sauce topped with Avocado. I’m still geeking out about the taste. On a side note the French Fries are great!!!

Went in a party of 7, we are regulars here. The server messed up all of our checks and charged us each 2 – 4 times. The manager said he can not do anything. We were there trying to solve the problem and the manager wouldn’t give us a receipt to show that he put it back on all of cards. Just ridiculous. Terrible service

The view was lovely! The food we ordered was not bad too. Here’s where there were a few problems: 1. Drinks — I got a Bloody Mary — tasted extremely washed out. I was not a fan. 2. Service — you expect to be treated at least decently, but we were treated like foreigners from out of country. What? Who gives soy sauce with a Spanish dish??? We ended up calling out the waiter on this, in which, another waiter came by, apologized and took the soy sauce back. I don’t typically pull out the race card, but I am hoping that was by accident… otherwise this would’ve ended up as a 3 for just average food and slower-than-usual service.

Stunning 180 degree oceanfront view. Over-priced brunch food that tasted pretty good. Attentive yet casual service. I’d return with little hesitation. The fish huevos rancheros at $ 15 was pretty delicious. The $ 8 mimosa was fine, but would have been great if it had been bottomless or at least included one refill. On a sparkling spring morning, you could do much worse than Shoreline Beach Café.

Came here strictly for the ocean view and chilaquiles. The view was awesome but the chilaquiles needed just a bit more flavor. Friendly staff and easy going atmosphere.

Am willing to bet they were having an off day yesterday with the Valentine’s day crush, plus the amazing weather in Santa Barbara. We usually go to Brophy Brothers nearby, but decided to try something different. The idea of being on the sand was appealing on a gorgeous, warm day. We lucked into a table quickly. It was up on the deck, overlooking the tables where you can put your toes in the sand. A glass wall to shield wind still allows for a fabulous view of the beach. We caught a glorious sunset last night. Sadly, the rest of the meal wasn’t so glorious. Service was pretty terrible. I had my back to the rest of the dining room space, so I couldn’t easily watch the staff’s comings & goings. My brother remarked they seemed to be short-staffed. Took a while to take our drink orders, then a really long time for the food to be discussed and ordered. There was drama when bro ordered the carne asada tacos. «We’re out of carne asada, sorry.» He picked a cheeseburger instead. But about five minutes later we heard that they found one more order of the carne asada — did he still want it? Yes, sure. Guess what happened? The tacos came out a long time before anyone else’s meal showed up. And about when the rest of the order came, a burger was there, too. So the kitchen didn’t get the message about the tacos. It happens, but there weren’t many apologies or anyone keeping track of what we ordered and when it was going to come out. Other tables came and went and we were still there. Waiting for food. Waiting to be checked on. Waiting for more beverages. Waiting for the bill. Cue Jack Johnson.. .“Must I always be waiting, waiting on you?” Yikes! Speaking of beverages — I picked a double latte. Expecting a foamy top, what I got was some old-tasting coffee with milk dumped in it. No foam, no flavor, except«bottom of the pot». The.Worst.Latte.Ever.Really. Total waste of almost five bucks. And it was barely lukewarm, to boot. DH and I shared the ahi burrito. Strangely, it came on a salmon-colored tortilla wrap-style. The tortilla had more flavor than what was inside it. The fish was prepared well, but had almost no taste. There was supposed to be some kind of sauce, but it was almost undetectable. That was a waste of a nice piece of fish. :-(A paltry amount of fries were on the side, and they weren’t even warm. Our nephew ordered a kid’s burrito and his plate had triple the amount of fries that we were served with the adult burrito wrap. Go figure. Both nephews finished their plates — the other chose the bacon wrapped hot dog. They were happy. They enjoyed running around on the beach once they finished eating. We could see them through the glass wall. Back to the carne asada tacos — they put the meat on the plate, with the tortillas on the side, so you assembled your own tacos. But the amount of meat seemed like a small portion for the price charged. Our server never came back after the food was served(in stages) to see if it was to our liking. And we had to flag her down for the bill after we’d been in the chairs for 90 minutes overall. She mumbled something about how she hadn’t wanted to interrupt our conversation. Hmm. I’d be willing to give this another try for the amazing location and the general concept. Hoping that what we experienced was a big restaurant day and a frazzled crew, and not how they normally do business.

Perfect beach spot for sunset cocktails and happy hour eats. 4.5 stars Food: 4, Service: 5, Atmosphere: 5 Cost to worth it rating: 3($ 5 happy hour fish/shrimp taco) Return worthiness: yes! Eve award: best Hawaii vacation feel without the flight Highlights: — Tables on the beach: so fun especially if you have kids. They can run around and you can chill and enjoy. — Mai tai: not too sweet or sour. 4 stars — Fish and shrimp tacos: both fried and great(shrimp are cut up into chunks) though there is a bit much of the cilantro cabbage piled on. Choice of corn or flour which is nice. 4 stars — Waitress: friendly and checked on us often to see if we needed anything. Better attention than we got the night before at a fancy restaurant. — Happy hour: cocktails and some apps $ 2 off. Bonus timing it with the sunset. — Indoor seating: bunch of tables inside with the same view of you prefer that Midlights: — Quesadilla comes in a red tortilla. Tastes fine and not a big deal unless you have a picky kid. 4 stars Lowlights: — We’ve been to Santa Barbara several times and this is our first visit here. Will become a regular spot for sure. Amazing for a beautiful and relaxing vacation feel – even for the locals. Would love to try their brunch too.

Loved this place! There are actual tables in the sand which is the coolest thing ever! Besides the GREAT location(literally on the beach) the food and service were pretty good. Our waiter Felix was super nice and he even offered to take pictures of my group! Through out my visit he was very accommodating and always had a smile on his face. He helped make our dinner an enjoyable experience and I was impressed with his service. My mother ordered red snapper over salad and a hot coffee, which she said were both good. I ordered fish and chips, but instead of chips I was able to get sweet potatoe fries! Hardly any restaurants have these so I was excited to see them on the menu — and even happier when they were delicious! The best part of the meal, though, was the sunset. A beautiful veiw largely unobstructed. It was awesome! The bathrooms, though, we’re a little scary. And for two people, the bill came a little under $ 40 which really isn’t that bad. All in all, I would highly recommend to any friends.

Was in search of a great fish taco and somewhere I could sit o the beach. This hit the nail on the head for both. We got the ahi and market fish tacos. Both were amazing. Add some of the spicy flavoring to the fish, it’s worth it. The flavor was great, food was fresh plus you cant beat the view of being ON the sand at the ocean. Prices were reasonable as well. If you’re looking for great fish tacos in Santa Barbara this is where you need to be.

Eating breakfast while sitting literally on the sand. Amazing or what? It was my first time coming here but boy, I was impressed. So please bring sandals. When coming here we ordered a Carne Asada and Chilaquiles. They were amazing with some some fruit on the side. The service was awesome, so attentive. It is also so cool that for those who have pets, you can bring your dogs and have them literally in front of you playing on the sand. It is incredible
