The free concerts at the park are a higher quality than I expect for no charge. Two years ago these concerts helped me survive a hellish summer. I still have friends with those who I bonded with over the fantastic tunes. Having moved back into the area I’m already looking forward to Thursday nights this June. From an Eagles tribute band to Gypsy rock I can’t wait to hear all the bands. The green atmosphere adds a large amount to this venue. However, I will not down vote a location based on Mother Nature.

As far as the person suggesting not to listen to the poor review I wrote… this was in reference to a PRIVATE event. When you’re PAYING nearly 1K to rent a park your standards are slightly higher than a FREE concert, dude. I am sure I’d be more than happy to attend a free concert there too without complaint I typically do not complain about free things either, but this was a wedding, not a hot dog feast and it certainly cost a pretty penny. Anyway, the city has since filled their empty fountains with beautiful flowers. Given that our event was right in the midst of all of this happening, we were also given a slight discount on the park fees. The city really stepped up to the plate(eventually) making things right and our wedding reception turned out beautiful. While I stand by my first review regarding the conditions and the way this was handled, they did finally take action.(granted, I had to get a lawyer involved, but hey details details). Since my ordeal, they have also updated their website regarding the drought. So, I hope this is helpful to other brides moving forward in making their wedding location choice.

Don’t listen to the poor reviewer. During the summer they have concerts in the Park every Thursday. The line up for 2014 has been awesome so far, captain cardiac, and the Beatles tribute band were pretty epic. During concert intermissions they have a free raffle where you have a chance of winning a cd, swim passes, or tennis lessons. Depending on the concert this place can be pretty crowded, they allow you to drop off chairs/blankets early in the afternoon at noon, this is always not fun, you would think older people would be more kind, and relaxed about putting their chairs out, but it’s like the amazing race, and a mad dash to see who can get the best seat(some pushing has occurred). You’re not allowed to park in the lot near the park when setting chairs up either, which sucks! However if you don’t mind the walk, there’s a place you can park that has 15 min free parking
