Orange County Birth and Death Registration

Quick service ever parking right outside the door. I thought I was gonna be late to work. with these kind of laces u never know how long it will take … Super happy I made it to work on time.

I put so much time on my meter but it literally took me 10 minutes to get in and out of there. fast service, I like that. :) came here on a early Friday afternoon. it also helps if you have your papers filled out before coming here.

Absolute worst. We had an out of hospital birth and needed to make an appointment. No big deal right? Well it is if there is only one lady that can do the appointments and was out of the office on vacation for 2 weeks. Finally got an appointment and gathered all of the documents that were provided to us by the birthing center (so thankful for them!). What she failed to mention on the phone (as well as on the website!!!) is that they don’t take cards… only cash check or money order. I asked the woman at the front if I could run right out to the car to grab my checkbook which was thankfully there and not at home! She said“hold on let me ask” as if they were going to tell me to come back another day! Sure that’s easy with a newborn… She said ok and fill out the paperwork from a bunch of clipboards hanging from the wall. I filled my paper out and then set the clipboard on the chair instead of taking it to my car. We rushed out and back, got the checkbook and I proceeded to sit down. The woman ‘finger curled’ at me to come back to the window, like I am not a grown woman but a 2 year old who needs a time out. She says «I need you to get the clipboard and put it back over there on the wall.» I said oh I’m sorry and shamefully followed her orders. I felt like an absolute failure of a mother — my 3 week old was starting to fuss and I just got reprimanded by someone who doesn’t care about anything but her damn clipboard. Our government should be ashamed by the people that they employ in these offices. Maybe it doesn’t seem like a big deal but I was brought to tears as I walked back into the office to get my sweet daughters birth certificate so that she can finally be added to the insurance and get a checkup. Afterwards I had to breastfeed her in the car as there as nowhere else to go while the parking attendant kept walking by looking in the car wondering when the spot was going to free up. Absolute worst experience, petition our laws and allow midwives to do everything that they allow in hospitals (birth certificate, social, etc.). You can start by convincing insurance companies to start covering their services 100%!

Small lobby and has some typical «government workers» but they are efficient and can move you through fairly quickly. Call ahead for birth certificates if the birth was a few years ago. You may have to get the birth certificate from County records department instead. They will give you that address. I recommend calling ahead to verify what info/​proof you need to get a record.
