3rd time I go to this place and they don’t have anything is ridiculous how a business can not have food before 30 min to closed

Nice alternative selection for a mall food court. You can chose brown rice, mixed greens or white rice & quinoa as a base to your bowl. Variety of veggie toppings(cucumber, cilantro, corn, broccoli & cranberry, etc.). Your choice of protein(beef bulgogi, chicken, marinated chicken, tofu, pork-el pastor?). Dressing to top it off(cilantro lime, sesame peanut, Asian hot, & a white creamy something. Primarily a Korean flavor base. Really a lot lighter choice than some of the other food court choices. Would not hesitate to go again if I happen to be in the Main Place Mall.

My first visit to Mix-a-bowl was on a Thursday a little after lunch time. I parked at Mainplace Mall closest to the center building and food court area. Upon entering the mall, I was lead directly to the escalator not far from the food court. I found Mix-a-bowl near Sbarro and thankfully wasn’t too packed. It reminded me of Chipotle in the way that you can choose the ingredients you want to add in your bowl, only here you’re limited to 5 toppings(not including the meat). My bowl consisted of lettuce, brown rice, chicken, corn, mixed beans, cilantro, pickled cucumbers, cauliflower/broccoli and cilantro lime sauce. I was given one small container of sauce which at first I thought wouldn’t be enough but for me, someone who enjoys a moderate amount of sauce in general, was enough for the entire bowl. I definitely enjoyed my bowl, it tasted fresh and healthy. The ingredients were simple and well put together. My bowl was $ 7.40 which is slightly cheaper than Chipotle. I’d recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a quick healthy bite.

YUM! Fresh, healthy, endless options and great service. Great prices and I love how YOU are in control of what your eating! They have samples to give you an idea of what the food taste like and I am a huge fan of the cilantro dressing. Chicken is cooked perfectly

Are you looking for something new and fresh? Come to this place in the Main Place Mall or to Westfield Santa Ana as its now called. This gem is located in the food court and has a variety of options. I chose to make my own bowl with cheese, jalapeño, cilantro, edamame, and cucumber topped with cilantro dressing and Korean spicy paste sauce. Sooooooo good!

MixaBowl, my cousin and I were at main place not only to go shopping but also because I had a mad craving for Great Khan’s, but walking to the food court we kept seeing this big cups like bowls… I thought to myself«did yogurtland introduce a new gigantic size». The approach to Great Khan’s was in view, but my view was stolen with the LED white lights and bright green accents that MixaBowl was showing. Literally taking a second to glance at the menu, it reminded me of chipotle”. It seems like people are giving the business a little dirt as their signage says«Write a review, show us and get $ 1 off.» Just like what I am doing now, I ate the food, and now I am going to give my review, so when I do return(which is soon) I will get $ 1 off. Dont dock their review just because you can’t think outside the box, come on sense peeps(say that slowly) But on to my review! The man working was super welcoming, he offered a sample which was a mix of veggies with spicy pork, and just the small bit that was offered it was packed with flavor with a lot of «oh yea thats healthy». At Chipotle you are usually offered rice, if you want salad you just ask. Here at MixaBowl the default is half rice/half salad and it is perfect because trust me this bowl is a beast. You have your options to go with either white rice or brown rice. From there you get to choose 5 toppings, if you would like any more additional toppings its only fiddy cents. The toppings are fresh and delicious, at least the ones that I had on my bowl which were Cilantro, broccoli and cauliflower, corn and red onion, edamame and cranberry and chickpeas were the five toppings, but I added carrots because whats up doc? After that you choose a sauce, you can sample all of them but as I always do when it comes to trying a new place I always ask for whats the workers favorite and/or best seller, he gave me a sample of the Cilantro Lemon, instantly became the Neo to my bowl, a couple of head nods and I said thats the one! From there is the meat choosing, which I was super sad thinking about it as I am writing this review, I had no idea you can do half/half someone did half bulgogi and half tofu and mushrooms and it looked divine! I went all bulgogi, the man did not hold off as he topped the bowl to the point you cannot see whats underneath, shooot I didn’t complain. Lastly is just a choose of drink and then you pay, seriously when you see how big this bowl is, and how much he puts into the bowl, for the price of I think mine was 8 something because of the additional 50cents(didnt carrot all). That price for the amount of food you get, it is well worth it! Key to success, don’t forget to mix your bowl before eating! Everything as I said blended, mixed, fused, paired whatever you want to go with in a nice and über delicious way. The bulgogi was tender and marinated pefectly, wasn’t too much or too little. The real MVP though was that Cilantro lemon, coating everything in the bowl it was the right amount of acidity to eat bite! For how big this bowl is, after I finished it all, I thought I was going to be super full, but surprisingly I was at the perfect feeling of begin satisfied, my belly was happy! Me and my cousin just got up and continued to walk the mall, we both weren’t sluggish or being dragged down by food coma. Is this the feeling of eating healthy?!? In other words I do find myself coming to eat here again, either when I go shopping again, or even when I just crave it. like today I will be going in to show a couple co workers… win win! I can honestly say this can take over my liking of chipotle, I will still eat there of course, but MixaBowl if you continue to be consistent I will be sure to choose you over chipotle =P Feast well fellow Unilocalers, Itadakimasu! — Ssp

Asian Chipotle! I didn’t have too high expectations for this place but it was surprisingly delicious not to mention to portions are relatively large(I’m probably going to make two meals out of this) it’s the perfect combination of veggies and rice, and I LOVE how thy have the quinoa addition, it definitely makes you feel like you’re eating relatively healthy. The bulgolgi was well flavored and everything combined perfectly. The cilantro and lime sauce were not too heavy but just enough to give a little extra flavor to tie your whole bowl together. Next time though I do want to kick it up a notch and try for a spicier bowl, perhaps the spicy pork would be perfect for my taste buds. But until then, I will definitely be adding this place as an option to go to during my lunch breaks.

They want you to WRITE a review and SHOW it to them before purchase in order to get the discount. How could you do an accurate review before trying out the product? The store ads is «Write a review to get $ 1 off» So apparently customers need to write a review before the purchase in order to get their $ 1 off special. I asked the nice man who served me, and he clarified that I have to write some kind of review in order to get the discount. But then I said, «How could you write a review prior to trying out the product?» And his response was, «Well, I don’t make the rules» Alright, «so what kind of review do people write?» He said, «Anything, how the food look fresh, the service, how I treated you, basically the good things.» Well, I had to pass on $ 1 discount, because I(and all other people) look up Unilocal to find good food, experience, and services. And I think it is wrong to write down some reviews before you experienced it. Anyways, we got the Cilantrology with extra cilantro sauce on the side. Good portion — pretty big, and yes, it was tasty. The server seems pretty tired and bored, or maybe he was waiting for a text msg, because he kept on checking his phone. The mall was so crowded, therefore finding a table was a challenge.

Boy do I love this place! Fresh & healthy what more can you want after a great workout! On Tuesdays until March its 20%! So a whopping killer deal of $ 5.45 which includes tax for a marvelous meal. The employees are so helpful, polite and patient! Definitely my go to spot at this mall now!

Wow! I really liked this place. What a concept. For like $ 7 plus tax and I got a HUGE bowl(I haven’t been that full in a long time) of lettuce and white rice/quinoa at the bottom, cilantro, red cabbage, jalapeños, steamed bean sprouts with sesame oil and nice simple grilled chicken. Did I mention it was a HUGE amount of food! I also got half lime cilantro and Korean chili sauce on the side and poured about half of each sauce on and put the lid back on it and shook it like the lady told me to do. Super duper healthy, fresh and clean eating. I am so happy this is here. I was macking so hard I forgot to take a picture, my bad!

Great selection of fresh vegetables and gluten free sauces. 20%off Tuesday’s are nice and the sauces are super good. 3 kinds of meat and a vegetarian option too. Only drawback is the teriyaki chicken isn’t gluten free.

Basically the Korean version of chipotle. It’s in the food court of the Westfield MainPlace Mall. Pros: + Portions are pretty huge, I ended up eating my leftovers for breakfast. + They have pretty good deals. I got $ 1 off for checking in on Unilocal, and on Tuesdays you get 20% off a bowl. + Double meat is only $ 1.79. I liked the spicy pork. Bulgogi was pretty dry. + The lady taking my order was really nice, and let me sample most of everything. + You can mix the sauces. Spicy mango and cilantro lemon were my favorite. Cons: — Veggies. They didn’t look that fresh, and the variety was a little lacking. Kinda disappointed they didn’t have kimchi. Overall, I think the side choices at California Gogi are a lot better but MixaBowl has large portions with pretty good flavor.

Mixabowl is located on the second floor of the Westfield Mall in Santa Ana. Given its location I wasn’t sure I wanted to make the effort to venture into a mall for my dinner but the great reviews and enticing photos led me to Mixabowl. I really wasn’t let down! The person helping me had immediately offered to show me how their ordering system works and was friendly and polite. The style of ordering reminded me of both Chipotle and Yogurtland. You get to pick your protein, base and vegetables and it’s all served in a giant bowl. I decided on the grilled chicken though there are many more interesting options such as beef bulgogi, al pastor and tofu with mushrooms. They offer quinoa, brown and white rice and lettuce as bases and they have a huge array of vegetables from which to choose. I decided on jalapenos, jicama, broccoli/cauliflower, cabbage and picked cucumber. After choosing your protein, veggies and base you get to pick a sauce. I decided on the cilantro lime sauce. My bowl was huge. I was easily expecting to pay at least $ 9 for it and to my surprise it was only $ 6.50. I imagine it’s this cheap partly because they’ve only recently opened and are still trying to attract a solid base of customers but I would definitely pay a couple more dollars for this bowl if I had to. I only managed to finish half of it but it made for a delicious lunch the next day. I really like their array of options for both proteins and veggies. On a less health-conscious and more adventurous outing I’ll have to try their beef and pork and determine if it’s closer to Chipotle quality or authentic Mexican and Korean cuisine. Either way, I really enjoyed my bowl of chicken, brown rice and veggies and am glad that there’s a new bowl option in town with such a wide range of healthy ingredients from which to choose.

Finally! A fast, healthy, Asian food option that I like at the border… The Santa Ana/Orange border. More specifically, at the food court on the 2nd floor of the Mainplace Mall. Craving Korean Bibimbap or Mexican Salad? You can make either here. Quick and affordable? Yes. And does the overused Chipotle style of selecting things description fit? Yes. Pick what you like… Proteins(Pick 1): Beef Bulgolgi — $ 7.45 Spicy Pork — $ 6.95 Al Pastor — $ 6.95 Chopped Chicken Breast — $ 6.85 Chicken Teriyaki — $ 6.55 Tofu & Mushroom — $ 6.75 Base(or combo of): White Rice and Quinoa Brown Rice Lettuce Veggies(Pick 5): Edamame and Cranberry Pickled Jalapeño and Cranberry Carrots Tomatoes Mixed Beans(Kidney, Black, etc.) Garbanzo Beans Bean Sprouts Red Cabbage Cilantro Broccoli and Cauliflower Corn and Red Onion Cheese Queso Fresco Croutons Cucumber Pickle Sauces(One or two sauces, mix as you like): Cilantro Lemon Kohot Sesame Peanut Crema Cucumber Spicy Mango I have tried the bowls a couple of times and so far I really like the Bulgolgi and the Sesame Peanut and Cilantro Lemon sauces. The Kohot is good to add to either as it’s a less spicy more liquid version of Korean gochujang(red pepper paste and fermented soybeans sauce). The Cilantro Lemon has a little kick to it while the Sesame Peanut has vibrant peanut and sesame fragrances with a hint of sweetness. I did the bowls with half white rice and half lettuce and themed it more Korean bibimbap style. The mix and match options here let you make things like bibimbap, rice bowls, regular salads, mexican salads. If you want extra protein, they give you a double portion for only an additional $ 1.79. I wanted to try the chicken to see how it mixes with their sauces, but it just didn’t look as sexy as the beef or tofu. The bulgolgi is well marinated and tender. The tofu and mushroom has some spiciness but isn’t hot. The servings here are generous, you get a lot more than you would get at a Flame Broiler. They don’t skimp on the ingredients and if you try and like their sauces, you might find yourself craving them, like I do with the Sesame Peanut and Kohot combo. Woohoo, I’m adding this to my work lunch spots regular rotation list!

This place is nice and clean very modern. The food was fresh and tasty. The workers were very nice. I went here with my wife who loves to eat healthy … And yes it does seem like an Asian chipotle but the food is still great either way. For all the people on the fence you guys should give it a try … You won’t regret it
