The flavors here are amazing. It was so hard to choose just two. But, after trying several samples, I finally went with the rose milk with raspberry swirl, rose petals, and jalapeño, and the strawberry balsamic fig with black pepper all in a lemon zest turmeric cone. The ice cream is so creamy and I loved how the jalapeño gave it a little kick. For $ 6, it’s a little pricey, but you get a huge 1 ½ scoops and for the quality, taste, and originality of the flavors, it is totally worth it.

Hands down the best chocolate chip cookies I’ve had in like ever! I paid $ 3 for 2 decent sized cookies and they heated them up and what came after was pure perfection in my mouth! We will definitely be coming back for sure. The parking I thought was going to be bad but Sundays the meters are free! I can’t wait to explore the rest of the menu next time!

I was really impressed by this place! For a small icecream shop they have a variety of unique flavors. I told the cashier that I was allergic to peanuts and she went as far as pulling out the list of ingredients to double check my order. I got the Mocha Almond Fudge with red velvet cookies. The icecream was creamy and the cookies smooth. 5 stars for food and service. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

SOAMAZING! I love the range of flavors, the COOKIES(heavy breathing), I love the large portion you get, and I love the employees(everyone is so nice!). I’ve tried many different combinations of cookie and ice cream, and literally never been disappointed. Highly, highly recommended.

Update: After the wedding we found that not everybody received a cookie. The line was too long and the complaint was that there were too many combinations to choose from. It created long lines through indecisiveness.

Chunk-N-Chip is my new drug! Wow! I had the peanut butter cookies with peanut butter cup ice cream and it was so tasty! Not too rich and I love how the cookies were just perfectly warm! Lene was great to work with and the truck team was on time to our location and had great customer service! I would definitely recommend them to anyone!

I honestly had a solid«average» experience here at Chunk-N-Chip, but it was probably because I was expecting so much more due to the great reviews they had here. It wasn’t anything exceptional or anything extremely bad, so I just decided to stick with a 3. Pretty sure I will update this review once I come back again, since they have such a unique array of flavors I want to try. Reason being most likely for the 3 was customer service. The guy working the truck wasn’t extremely friendly. He didn’t offer any samples, really, just kind of asked if we were ready to order. I basically picked the first two flavors out of the corner of my eye — the white chocolate fudge and the black raspberry cheesecake, and I wasn’t really feeling super adventurous to get it in a cookie. The ice cream was served in a paper-ish type of lunch tray with a cute wooden spoon that says Chunk-N-Chip. The ice cream is one of the better ones I’ve tasted, definitely better than most of the OC ice cream locations. The black raspberry cheesecake’s texture melts in your mouth, and the white chocolate fudge has a LOT of those chocolate kisses hidden inside them. Their scoops aren’t extremely big, but they don’t melt quickly either, so that’s a plus. Am definitely willing to come back to have a better experience at this place, and it is conveniently located within 4th Street Market, so it’s a definite dessert spot after some food adventures!

Lene and the Chunk-N-Chip team put on a beautiful display for weddings and events. I cannot tell you how many complements we got on our wedding mini ice cream sandwich bar. Not only did everyone love them, they were all gone by the end of the night! Thank you so much for such a fun & creative idea, it added such a special touch to our perfect day! I highly suggest this vendor for your wedding or event, Lene knows what she is talking about and made sure I did not over or under order as we also had a mini dessert bar too. Thanks a bunch!

Pretty solid cookie and ice cream place. They had pretty unique flavors like lavender blueberry, apple pie, and banana cream. I went with the banana cream with the half graham Cookie special. Came out to about $ 4.50. Really simple and nice place to get a sweet filling when you’re around the area

Interesting ice cream flavors and I always come here when I visit 4th street Market. My favorite combo is the red velvet cookie with the fruity pebbles ice cream. But I prefer their ice cream alone over the cookies. And yes there are free samples! Metered parking is free on Sundays, holidays and after 8pm.

You’ve gotta try the Santa Ana location at 4th St. MARKET. I got the banana cream pie salted caramel w/bourbon ice cream with 1 graham cookie and it was heaven in my mouth. I should have went for 2 cookies but I wasn’t sure being my first time here. Believe me there will be a 2nd! I like the fact that they warm the cookie up first and the ice cream is packed with so much flavor!

We went to First Friday and spotted this food truck on Abbott Kinney in Venice. We stood in line for a short bit, but by the time we ordered, the selections were slim. We ended up creating a random ice cream sandwich since there wasn’t much to choose from; we decided on the red velvet cookies and the fruity pebbles ice cream. Probably not a combination we normally would have ordered but loved it separately and oddly enough, worked together at the same time. The red velvet cookies were warm and chewy and delicious! The fruity pebbles was interesting; I’ve never had this sort of ice cream before, but it actually wasn’t that bad! The price was a little expensive for an ice cream sandwich, but these are unique flavors and I support local business. The service was good, and they took credit cards too! Follow this truck!

Thank you Chunk n Chip for the dessert station at my mom’s 60th surprise birthday party. They turned their station into a beautiful bakery/ice cream heaven! All of the guests were really impressed with the sammiches and were so accommodating and courteous. And ice cream was perfect on a super hot day! Lend was exceptional throughout the entire process! She answered alllll of my million questions and was super quick about it via email! Definitely recommend Chunk n Chip for any party!

Omg I was sooooooooo rdy for ice cream. I dragged my coworker out here on the hottest day of the summer. So there was no parking and we ended up walking in the hot sun. Anyway, I saw the cookies and the ice cream choices. They were both limited. I felt like I was forced into getting something I didn’t want, but I excused it bc I really wanted to try this place out. After munching on it for 2 whole minutes the ice cream had melted. The cookies had hardened. Def not a great experience. I rather drive to Diddy Reese in LA for a really ice cream sandwich than to come back and give them another 5 dollars.

1. Map location is wrong!!! We had to google the actual store front location. 2. They’re in a market not seen from street. 3. Def not amazing and not 4 star quality. Wasn’t the best ice cream sandwiches I’ve ever had… 4. Bad customer service had to wait a long time 5. Sold out of most cookie flavors and not much of ice cream selection. Sad we were really looking forward to trying this place.

I picked up an ice cream sandwich earlier this week at the Tuesday Night Roundup in Cypress. I went with the Minteroni, which is made of a brownie cookie and mint chip ice cream. This combination was really great. It was quality mint ice cream with tiny chocolate chips surrounded by 2 very soft brownie cookies. They gave me a spoon for the ice cream sandwich, so I thought I should use it. Turns out the smoothness of the ice cream was met with a coarse and rough surface of the wooden spoon. That was not good eats. I immediately stopped using the spoon and enjoyed the sandwich the proper way. At $ 5, it’s a reasonable price for a solid truck dessert. Notes: Bring cash and throw away that crappy wooden spoon.

Whoa This truck has a PhD in BSS, balancing savory and sweet. Had strawberry balsamic ice-cream sandwich with chocolate fudge cookies, hints of black pepper, rich buttermilk and dark fudge… It’s barking madness, it’s that delicious. Go track this truck down and get you a Sammie! Being not a fan of sweets this joints a game changer for sure. Good stuff

The four stars is because I don’t really want to pay $ 6 for an ice cream sandwich. That being said… Wow. Yum. Give me more. I had the chocolate chip cookies with mocha espresso ice cream(that had cocoa puffs in it!!). I need another one because it was so good! The market on fourth street is pretty cool with lots of good shops but this is definitely my favorite place so far!

I had the bananas foster with chocolate chip cookie sammich. It was delicious and the cookie was reheated. The portion for this was perfect. The only problem was that eating this was a little bit of a mess. It’s a ice cream cookie sandwich so there isn’t much to expect but I wish it would hold a bit more together.

This review is for catering for our wedding! Let me start by saying, I worked with Lene and she coordinated our wedding treats. We first met with her before the wedding and tasted all the different options of cookies and ice cream. Lene is SUCH a SWEETHEART to work with. She is honest, and loves what she does. She was always completely up front about all costs, and questions she had for the big day. We had a station composed of 3 different cookies and 3 different ice creams. The stand they did for the wedding was absolutely gorgeous. Our guests loved the Chunk-n-Chip and the line was always long(but kept moving pretty quick). Bottom line, we would love to recommend Lene and her company to anyone wanting to impress their guests with a satisfying stomach and a happy heart :)

Ooooh, thanks for letting me sample practically all your flavors !! Ha Ha, so after trying several flavors– I narrowed it down to lavender blueberry and guava + goat cheese. The gal was so nice and patient with me as I was debating which to choose. I ended up going with the guava and goat cheese with a chocolate chip cookie. So glad I did– it was really good! Great and safe combination for someone who rarely tries anything new, on my own that is! This place is definitely a sweet spot and I was much satisfied with my purchase !!

Chunk-n-chip, been a year since I last visited and it seems Conventions in Anaheim are where I will continuously meet them! Last review I mentioned I ordered the Drunk Monkey, which was, uhm, amazingly delicious! this time I wanted something unique again and saw on the menu the elvis: peanut butter & banana cream pie with spiced-candied bacon I usually love the Elvis combinations in dishes, but unfortunately this time I did not and have to give a lower rating And unfortunately, the one thing that threw off this ice cream sandwich was the bacon… the ice cream= delicious the cookies= warm ooey goey delicious the bacon = the crispiness was just about the only good thing. the amount of spice in the bacon was too overpowering even with as much ice-cream and cookie you can put in your mouth with one piece of bacon; the bacon’s spice was just too much, not too much spice as in too much to handle, just too much flavor like when a dish has too much lemon or garlic or too much hot pepper i loved the idea, the concept, and i think the«candied» part of the bacon would have been enough, but it was way overdone maybe next year i will try a better sandwich

The only dessert truck at the Irvine Lanes Truck Lot was Chunk-n-Chip. But looking at their menu, I think I would have tried them even if there were other options! I love ice cream sandwiches. You can mix and match, choosing up to two ice cream and two cookie flavours. I thought that was really cool because usually you’re limited to one ice cream flavour for these things. Their ice cream list had some interesting flavours and the guy was nice enough to let me sample three of them. Eventually I went with the following combination: Espresso + Lemon Zest cookies sandwiches White Chocolate Chip ice cream and Rose with Raspberry and Lychee ice cream. It was quite an interesting combo. Would I do it again? Probably not, just because the espresso flavour was overpowering and I couldn’t taste the lemon zest very well. So my cookie choice was not the best… if I was to do this again, I might just get both cookies as lemon zest. Ice cream wise, though, I was happy. I was actually going to do the rose ice cream with vanilla bean, but they had just run out of vanilla bean and the substitute was white chocolate chip(which wasn’t even on the menu!). It had actual white chocolate chips in it and was rich and delicious. So it balanced with the rose ice cream. The portion sizes here are huge! Those were big cookies and a LOT of ice cream. We ordered three ice cream sandwiches(there were three of us) so he packaged them nicely since we were going to eat them in the car. I liked the guy taking the orders – he was really nice! AND they have a Unilocal check-in offer. The ice cream sandwiches are normally $ 5 each, but Chunk-n-Chip offers a $ 1 discount if you are a student(with ID). I carry around my student ID with me for this very reason, so I just paid $ 4! The truck is cash only though, so make sure you have some George Washingtons with you ;)
