This place is one of my staples for lunch. the place never changed even a bit over the past 10 years. always consistent. I usually PENNEPORTOBELLO or Ravioli. and Of course the delicious bread and olive oil is complimentary.

This was my first time at Pasta Pomodoro. My meal was hot and the portion size was really large, almost a shareable size. The bread and dipping sauce was delicious and the staff was very friendly. A younger crowd and the energy in here seemed positive. The Cannoli is fantastic and the coffee is Lavazza! Definitely recommend for a good Italian meal with decent prices!

Has gone steadily downhill as the prices have gone up, sadly. Revolving door of management does not help and the prices are too high for take out, etc.

Pasta Pomodoro is a great family Italian restaurant and the San Ramon is their best location. Spacious dining area to accommodate groups and large families. Their bread sticks and pesto dipping sauce is outstanding! Expect a short wait on Friday and Saturday evenings, but have a small waiting area. I love their seafood pasta, clams, mussels, shrimp in a red sauce with thin spaghetti noodles. They also have beer and a small offering of wines.

I’ve always been a fan of Pasta Pomodoro for a few reasons… *love the ambience! Open space, outside walls are all windows, open kitchen so you can watch the cooks do their magic *food for the whole family — all sorts of pastas and Italian dishes *LOVE the free focaccia bread and dip! *friendly staff — my favorites are Daniel and Sandra, great people who always take good care of us. They also have unlimited pasta dishes and a wonderful lunch special. Wednesday is half off bottles of wine :)

Usually Pasta Pomodoro is a safe bet whenever I’m in the mood for pasta, but after what happened last time, never again! Sunday night we decided to order take out for dinner, finally decided on Pasta Pomodoro and ordered seafood pasta and chicken marsala. Around 5 hours after having the seafood pasta, major pain in my stomach. First I thought it was heartburn or upset stomach, nope, full on food poisoning! It seems like some of the seafood was not safe because I was sick for over 4 days! The only good thing is that thankfully my daughters didn’t consume any of the seafood so they were fine but we will not go there ever again!

Oh man… Tonight this place was a mess. Supposedly they were short cooks so we were there forever for some very basic plain pasta for kids and capellini pomodoro. Server was nice and food quality was fine, but they really need to improve the system. It’s not working

Not sure how I feel about this restaurant. We were seated right away(granted there were plenty of tables available). The hostess was polite. And our server was friendly. We ordered an appetizer and it came out quickly. Same with our dinner. The food was just okay. Nothing special about it. Something that really bothered me was we both ordered the same veggie on the side. I feel like our server should have told us that one would be enough for both of us(instead of us ordering two and paying) because we only ate one of them because there was so much. **the restaurant was clean.(I didn’t use the restroom so I can’t answer for that) * 1 star for fast service * 1 star for friendly staff * 1 star for cleanness

Worst P. Pom in the Bay Area. The food is good, pretty standard and consistent with other pasta pomodoros, but the service is bare bones. It’s sad. This was such a great franchise even 5 years ago, now it’s a mere shadow. Tonight we were offered dessert by some manager woman before anyone came to take our drink order. No one has any common sense here. It appears that two managers are on the floor but doing nothing to help the service staff be more efficient with facilitating ordering or getting food to the tables. Instead, these two manager appearing people(man & woman) are more worried about selling desserts and talking amongst each other. Kitchen staff seems competent and efficient, everything else lacks. Sad, sad, sad. I used to love this franchise.

Pro’s: Sundays is family night where kids eat free with a purchase of an adult meal. Tiramisu was perfect. To our surprise the salmon was probably the best dish. Cooked perfectly and moist, not what we expected especially after our server informed us the cooks were still working on cooking the salmon right. Con’s: Drinks were refilled only if we asked. Kept serving us cold coffee! Finally served a fresh pot. of hot coffee after our 3rd complaint. With less than 15 customers, you would think they would be on it when it a comes to service. Nope, we had to ask for everything and it was difficult to flag someone down.

Came here on a very busy Sunday and appears they were short staffed. Miguel was our server and he did an amazing job managing the situation. Not to mention he was the only server in the entire restaurant.

You’re better off coming here for lunch than for dinner. Lunch crew seems more organized, and they have some good lunch options that get you a soup or salad and a reasonably sized entrée for around $ 11. Pretty good for sit down lunch and typically pretty quick. Dinner experience is a bit more shoddy. Our waiter was nervous and inexperienced, but overall a nice guy. Service was paced somewhat awkwardly and the price point ends up being more in line with a higher class establishment. Entrees were loaded with oil/butter. The pumpkin ravioli would be much better if not swimming in a pool of brown butter. Their kiddo menu isn’t bad and includes a small dessert. If you’re looking for convenience, either because your’re staying at a nearby hotel, or you’re caught in the gridlock of the Whole Foods parking lot, this isn’t a terrible option. If you’re looking for a higher end Italian meal, keep on Unilocalin’.

This is probably the worst one I been to the food is mediocre and the soup is warm … I want hot soup. Only reason I gave it 2 stars is because it’s convenient and my man actually request it sometime. I appreciate that much. The service is ok.

3.5÷5 stars Pretty average overall! I enjoy the atmosphere and openness of the restaurant and the lunch pricing is fairly decent as well! For $ 10-$ 12 you can get a side of bread + pesto, ceasar salad/soup, and a decent sized pasta dish! I was reading the earlier reviews about service and was fairly surprised when I came. Whatever problems with service they’ve had in the past, they are definitely trying to fix it. For example, my water was never empty for more than a minute and she kept checking up on me to see how my meal was going. I had the broccoli and chicken pasta when I went for lunch. I had a couple pieces of broccoli and a decent amount of grilled chicken strips. My chicken was a little bit too charred, but it was an average pasta dish.

Service = Workers seem tired. Otherwise, everything was good. They seated and served us pretty quickly, and our server checked on us. One thing though was no one said bye to us when we were leaving. I’ll live. Food = Entrees were a little less than decent, the taste wasn’t really rich or anything spcecial. LOVED the hot bread and the olive oil though. Environment = Lighting is dim but not too dim. Open kitchen in the middle. Every table was set up with two bottles of wine, which of course, they take away later. Clientele is made up of lots of families with kids. Oh, it smelled funny when we walked in. Parking = Big shopping mall parking lot.

Came in here on a random weekday and got the Insalata Di Bistecca which was Grilled choice filet over organic baby lettuces, grilled red onions and premium blue cheese in a balsamic vinaigrette. It was good but nothing too special. Got the job done. I heard the chicken parmigiana is pretty good here

Came here for lunch on a weekday with coworkers. Wasn’t too busy at 12pm. Quick to be seated and server came around quick to get our drinks ordered. They have a special lunch menu($ 10⁄11 for a soup or salad and entrée). You can also order from the regular menu as well. Complimentary bread and dip as well(the dip was surprisingly good!) I think it was some sort of pesto? Ordered our meals and the food came out in about 15 mins. Lunch portions were decent(smaller, of course). I ordered the Rigatoni and it was pretty good. It was a baked dish with plenty of cheese on top. Flavorful and cheesy! Server was running around and it took us forever to get our check after he came around to clear our dishes. Not sure if service was just slow or if there weren’t enough servers handling the tables. Something our table also noticed: The salt and pepper shakers are switched up!

Not checking Unilocal reviews and being extremely hungry leads to my poor choices and wasting money. I ordered food from here several months ago and they messed up my ordered but decided to try them again because I didn’t have the energy to cook after working 10 plus hours today. What a waste of $ 30! I ordered two pasta dishes to go. I think those pasta frozen dishes from the grocery store taste better. We ordered the chicken Gemelli & the Ravioli. Both lacked flavored, my ravioli was cold and actually almost undercooked. I ate two pieces of ravioli and just refused to eat the rest. The chicken pasta dish was bland. The portions were kinda like those TV frozen dinners, extremely small, however Ive had frozen pasta dishes and they tasted better.(It looks bigger in the picture because I zoomed in) Small portions, poor quality for the price point The girl who took my order was extremely sweet and I got my food within 10 mins. Complimentary bread and dipping sauce.

Service excellent Ambiance excellent Shrimp Appetizer excellent Cod Entrée excellent Bread and dip excellent Polenta Appetizer Very Bland Risotto Entrée terrible, under cooked, grainy, just wet rice(see pics) did not send it back because we did not have time to wait. I have not been to Pasta Pomodoro for several years and new menu and not checking Unilocal reviews lead to my poor choices.
