I have been having family photos taken every year since I lost my first child to cancer. After his death I realized I could never have enough photo’s of my children. Since I have three young children (9,7 and 2) I find photography sessions to be challenging. I spend hours preparing their outfits and their hair. I make sure we all match (in our unique way) and I do my best in hopes there will be no meltdowns. Of course, every time, there are meltdowns and my anxiety rises to a new level.
This photo shoot with Michelle was no different. My kids see the sand and they decide to pour it on each other, the baby will not cooperate and of course the beach is crowded. I feared the worst. Michelle smiled and reassured me that it will look fabulous. She cheerfully guided my family for casual posing photos (which I love!) and soon the kids smiled on cue. When the children were loosing focus she encouraged them to play and the photos continued. Some of my sweetest shots came from their free play. When I first booked Michelle I explained my vision as to what I was looking for and she achieved it. Her eye for lighting and the surrounding was amazing and I could not have been more pleased.
I would also like to comment on how professional she is and her promptness with the return of the photos. In my book — that is worth 5 stars in amongst itself.
I will definitely use Michelle again. I have no doubt I will once again have anxiety and my children will not stay clean, but the memories are worth it every time I see them hanging on the wall.
