This place is no longer Lovely Nails. I got a pedi and mani and the lady scrapped my toe with the nail filer and it hurts! Talk about«OUCH» The man did an OK job!!! Where are you KEN!!! Time to find a new spot.

This business is no longer called Lovely Nails & Spa; it is not Avatar Nails & Spa. Talk about confusing! I was trying to find the place and it took me a while, I finally went in and it was the right place. So they were very super friendly. I feel as though they are a bit overpriced. I wasn’t necessarily blown away by the service. They had me playing musical chairs, moved down to two stations and had two different ladies working on my nails. I always go for a natural full set, with pink powder and clear gel. It cost $ 35, which is pretty steep. I have gone to other places where I pay relatively the same, but I get a nice exfoliating and oil hand massage. I honestly don’t plan on visiting again, there are a few places in Castro Valley that do a similar job for about $ 10 less.

I agree with Sabi B. Holly definitely takes pride in ownership. The shop is very clean, friendly staff, wide range of polish colors and most of all reasonable prices. Nail shops prices in SR are too high for the work my 5yo can do better. This is the first time my shellac hasn’t chipped within 2 days. I will definitely be going back!

This place is great! Their quality for customer service and nails is outstanding. Their price reflects their efforts, but as long as their service standards are high it is worth the money to know what kind of experience I will be receiving when I go there.

Where did Ken go??? Was absolutely suprised and very bummed to have gone in the shop about 2 weeks ago to find out the shop is sold to someone named Holly. Ken was the best, like other people commented, my nails lasted weeks longer. But seriously does anyone know where Ken might have gone? When I was in there, they said they were going to re-do the interior and call it Avatar. I need to find someone new now… tried the place at Almond plaza, and it was ok, not to the perfect nails by Ken! so sad :(

I was in desperate need of getting a mani and pedi. While in the Tri-Valley, I turned to trusty Unilocal to look up some nail salons. Lovely Nails & Spa popped up with high ratings, so I made an afternoon appointment. When I got there, there were 3 other patrons and 4 technicians. They have 6 pedi chairs and 4 mani stations. I was seated right away after choosing my colors. Contrary to their website, they did not use disposable tub liners. However, the whole shop was very clean and didn’t have the strong acrylic odor. All the towels were white and they autoclave the instruments. Tanya did my pedi while Nina did my mani. They both took time and didn’t rush at all. Tanya’s work was almost impeccable. She was thorough with the pedi but gentle at the same time. She also gave me a good 10 minute foot massage. Nina’s pedi work was just ok. The polish job didn’t look perfect and she was a little messy with the filing and cuticle trim. I’m docking a star for that. However, I’d definitely go back and make an appointment with Tanya. Anyway, $ 20 for a pedi and $ 10 for a mani ain’t too much to complain about especially in San Ramon. I’d recommend making an appointment bc there were 5 other walk-ins after I arrived. Location is easy to pass up bc the shop is tucked inside the plaza which connects to the Chevron gas station.

They took time to do my nails carefully, with detail, and taking into consideration all I wanted! I really enjoyed being pampered here! Lovely place — staying true to the name :). The only reason I am not giving it a 5 stars is because they don’t have a variety of nail polishes available. I will definitely be going back!

My nails look wonderful, even 5days later:) Ken knows my story, I’ll spare you the details, just know that his meticulous work is second to none that I’ve tried, definitely in San Ramon. Started my appointment on time :) Great customer service all of the technicians are very kind and welcoming :) Very clean salon :)) Kent’s pink and white technique leads to AWESOMENESS:))) Reasonably priced :)))) So you wonder, all those smiles why not 5 stars, well do to my own time constraints I was unable to get a pedicure, I can’t provide any feedback about that service and both have to be on point. Next week I hope to add that other star. P. S. if Lana’s even crossed your mind, ERASE, and go see Ken@ Lovely Nails, you won’t be disappointed! Update: Pedicures are Great too, not rushed, comfy seating and great massage!!!

I was in last month on Valentines day to see Ken do my pick and white acrylic fills. My nails were thick from another place i go to in Canada. As always, Ken is so gentle and removed them, then did my nails to absolute perfection! He is truly the BEST. They lasted 4 weeks! No lifting or chipping. I showed my new nail gal in Canada to do the same thing but while she did her best effort, they are not Ken’s work of art… Oh well… I will just have to wait a while until i am back in the bay area to get my nails done by Ken.
