I was treated to a taste of Heidi’s German Bakery’s blueberry cake through an acquaintance who thought that this was the most normal thing to pass around. And I almost fell over backward — the flavors, the memories… it was just wonderful! I immediately had to find out the source of this marvel, and ordered the apple cake and almond bread. And shared it with my family. Blinked — and it was gone.
Well, to make a long story short — we have reordered since then, and the apple cake and almond bread (with Nutella it’s an especially big hit!) even made a short-lived appearance at a business function!
I already have made a note on my Google calendar to order more apple cake and almond bread when my German-American visitors get here next month.
Maybe I’ll order an extra apple cake for myself. :) And make some real whipped cream … I can already taste it!
