Lynda, the owner and director is very knowledgeable, professional and helpful. A few months ago my family was in over our heads trying to figure out what to do and where to go for help for my 2 year old nephew. Even though he lives out of the area and could not have services here at East Bay ABA, Lynda was kind enough to offer advice, help us find other resources closer to my nephew and just be a support and advocate for anything needed to help our family in this emotional and confusing time. Lynda knows the ins and outs of the types of care and therapies that are available and can help you decide what will be best for you and your family. Most importantly she really cares about each and every kid and her compassion is evident from the first moment you meet her. If you are feeling lost or confused as to where to go and what to do when faced with an autism, or even a possible autism, diagnosis the people at East Bay ABA can help.

Unfortunately with the push for autism services and supports companies will emerge that seem to take advantage of the opportunity to cash in and I believe this is one. Easter Seals had just picked them up as a vendor at the time so recommended them. After 60 days Easter Seals offered to move us to another company. They told us they had had other complaints. I don’t believe they recommend them anymore? Note — my daughter is an older teenager. After 30 days of «getting acquainted»(playing games and music) I started to ask for some kind of a program. The supervisor was too busy to setup a program for us and blamed it on implementation of a new system. After 60 days still nothing. When we finally got some goals in place they had no structure to monitor their progress and some of the goals were inappropriate. After about 90 days on the second or third supervisor and second or third program director we got something going. The owner sold us on parents being part of the team but that never happened and we never had input as to progress towards goals. She told us we would have iPads to input data and get our own ABA training. Never happened. No individual training, no online training, no group training. Doubt it exists at all. She sold us on evidence based therapies but we were mostly using checklists I had developed in the absence of anything else. Turnover was high and at one point there was a discussion at my house among the staff that they were hired off craigslist and told to maximize the allowed billing hours that had been authorized by our insurance. About 120 days into it we finally got a program manager who seemed to know what she was doing but we’d had it. One therapist had a lot of potential but little to no direction. At one point my daughter asked what a Rave was and one of the supervisors got all excited and wanted to take her to try it. Really??? After talking to others in autism support advocacy it seems there are much better companies out there. I wish we had done our homework and avoided this group.
