The person here keeps selling expired red bulls(suger free). He said this would not happen last year and now in 2016 I go and see they expired. He told me to just not get the red bull then. This place should be replaced by vending machine.

I walked in there and asked if they had donuts. The guy answered no and said go to Safeway. Ok, no prob, but then he turned around and joked about me with his coworker. Fine! I walked to the cash register where they had some sweet pasties on display. I bought the $ 2 banana bread. I gave a $ 10 bill and asked for $ 1 bills back. The girl held out a 5 and 3 ones and told me sorry she couldn’t, while I starred at the register FILLEDWITH $ 1BILLS. Really lady?! Really Cactus Bar?! I asked for a refund and walked over to the food trucks where I spent all my money lol. The Ceviche & Co food truck is amazeballs! ;)

I thought the salad and chili tasted great, especially for a café in an office complex. The atmosphere could be better but again, it’s an office complex café!

Kinda hopeless that this is the only option I have near my office. Not too many good options and coffee has been on colder side far too many times. Food is just average, especially for the price I have to pay.

Horrible! I work in an office building nearby and called in to place a lunch order. The woman on the phone said that they don’t take just one lunch order over the phone during lunch traffic, so I have to order in person. What?! Then, what’s the point of being able to call in an order? Aside from that, two of the ladies there, who look like sisters, are mean as hell. Never smiles. Wanted to charge me for a cup, too, despite the many times I go there(not by choice). Oh, and they’re also overpriced. $ 2 for a small thing of milk? Ridiculous. By the way, it’s called BiShop Café now.

I go regularly, because it’s a convenient, fast-service shop run by very sweet ladies. They have a month by month daily specials calendar.

$ 3.20 for a red bull, seriously? For a while I’ve avoided this place for food since everyone I know in San Ramon told me to avoid it so I’m not rating any of the food items served here. I’ve stopped by during breaks for a snack here & there, up till now I’ve been able to stomach the $ 2.00 or $ 2.50 for a small cookie because at the moment the convenience of this place being in close proximity made it worth it. Today was the the straw that broke the camel’s back, I walked in, grabbed a can of red bull(coffee wasn’t cutting it for this fine monday) and lady rings it up, I actually said out loud«THREETWENTY???» to which she responded mmhhmmm. Never again, note to the owner; I understand your lease may be higher than average and you pay a premium for where you are but instead of capitalizing on the geographic advantage you are making up your overhead in the absolute worst way. Any business that transfers it’s cost directly into its pricing without quality will suffer, not saying you can’t be expensive but being expensive simply because of where you are doesn’t justify it. Easily there are aspects in quality and customer service where you left tons open in terms of improvement that would justify the pricing yet unfortunately it costs less to drive down the street even for a simple $ 2.00 item. Clearly I’m not alone with this opinion if you can take a hint from all the reviews left here before me you might realize that 90% of your clients are business professionals so it’s not all empty rants but rather useful feedback that clearly has been ignored.

I am just going to avoid this place. IMHO The only reason they exist is because there is no one else nearby. My experience has always been Bad and tasteless food. And overpriced. Do yourselves a favor and take the 5 minute walk to whole foods nearby.

Their daily specials are generally pretty good and worth the price large for the portion sizes and ok variety. Hit or miss customer service

It’s a business center café, not a restaurant for food snobs. For what it is, they’re always fully stocked with a huge assortment of drinks from juice to vitamin water to 20 different energy drinks to get you through those phone calls and meetings. Food here is fast and that’s all you can really ask for. If you work in bishop ranch and pressed for time during lunch, cactus is the way to go. If you’ve got an hour to kill, there are hundreds of options for you to head to where your full criticism is more warranted.

If, as a child, you were ever friends with the weird smelly kid that lived on your block who you didn’t even really like that much, you already know what it’s like to frequent Cactus Café. That’s not just a clever metaphor, either. This place smells — literally. The instant you walk in you’re hit with a powerful olfactory assault that I can only describe as a combination of boiling soup, industrial-strength cleanser, and wet dog. Not exactly the most appetizing or welcoming aroma. But hey, they’re close by and well… sometimes any food is better than none, right? I used to think so, but a few experiences here have led me to seriously question that philosophy. Once you get past the funk that greets you at the door, you’re met with an even bigger obstacle: the overpriced, sub-par food. I had the breakfast burrito a couple of times, and in retrospect, I’m not sure why I felt the need to punish myself more than once so early in the morning. The burrito consists of a a flour tortilla, some egg, a slice of American cheese and your choice of 3 greasy pig-based meats(ham, bacon, or sausage). It’s served on a Styrofoam tray and covered in saran wrap, which makes the tortilla steam for a few minutes, and it comes out soggy and moist. This would go for a buck or two at McDonalds, but with tax this comes out to more than $ 4 at Cactus Café. Most of the time something this unhealthy will at least taste good, but they mastered the trifecta of bad food: overpriced, unhealthy, AND bad tasting. Impressive. Their chicken /rice special was equally disappointing. For about $ 7 and change I got a bunch of steamed rice, and a few pieces of fatty chicken that appeared to be thigh meat covered in some kind of teriyaki sauce. To be honest, I’m not sure it was thigh meat. For that matter, I’m also not entirely sure it was chicken. What I AM sure of is that it gave me heartburn and did a serious number on my digestive track. I’ll spare you the details. A few months back I thought I’d change things up and ordered the clam chowder. I’m happy to report that I have recovered physically, but the emotional scars will take decades to fully heal. You’d have better luck finding a reasonably-priced meal in an airport terminal than you would here. Everything is at least 25%-50% more expensive than it should be. Even if you just want a candy bar, you’ll be paying $ 1.25. A can of soda is something like $ 1.50. I never bought either of these because my company’s vending machines were at least 50 cents cheaper for the exact same item. Seriously, who the hell charges $ 1.25 for a regular-sized Snickers bar? On top of this, they engage in the annoying policy of requiring at least a $ 5 minimum purchase if you want to use a credit/debit card. I guess they figure they’re not making enough money on their already overpriced food so they can’t be bothered to accept a card if all you got was a cup of coffee or a banana. It’s a complete joke, and really just a stupid, stingy policy that turns off customers. In short, the only thing going for this place is that it’s the only food option outside of a vending machine in this particular office complex. Regardless of the convenience, me and most of my coworkers workers always preferred to go somewhere else for lunch. Make that ANYWHERE else. I recommend you do as well. You’ll pay less, enjoy it more, and it won’t stink like that kid you knew back in 3rd grade.

I hate that this is my option for where I work. Most of the time I just go to Whole Foods but there are times where work is crazy and I can’t really take a lunch and I have to go to Cactus Café — but it’s always a dread. The sandwiches are ok. The specials change daily but none of them are any good really. The chicken always seem fatty and whatever they have on Friday is always something they are trying to get rid of from the week and you can tell. The other negative thing about this place is how pricey it is. I don’t get how I can go to Cactus and order a meal and spend the same amount of money I would at Whole Foods! but alas, I will return again when work is crazy and I can’t get away to go anywhere else.

If you work in this office building complex, the Cactus Café is a convenient option for a quick breakfast or lunch. Personally, I prefer to bring my own lunch or drive somewhere else. It reminds me of a cafeteria but worse since they only have soup, salad, and hot/cold sandwiches for lunch. The quality of ingredients is just average. You could easily make a better sandwich at home. They have breakfast sandwiches, bagels and English muffins in the morning. The most expensive sandwich is $ 6.50 but most are under $ 6. The sandwiches are your standard type: turkey, roast beef, tuna salad, chicken salad, egg salad, pastrami, corned beef, BLT, etc. I chose the half sandwich and a small cup of soup option($ 5.75). The tuna sandwich was made to order with your choice of bread(wheat), mayo, lettuce, tomato and pickles on the side. The sandwich became soggy quickly because the tuna salad had way too much mayo. It was unpleasantly sweet. The minestrone soup was unpleasantly salty and grainy with mushy pasta, beans, zucchini, carrots, etc. It wasn’t a good combination. They have bottled and canned drinks but if you dine there, you can take advantage of the free refills. I think the refills were the thing that excited me the most about this place.
