The food might have been good if I could have gotten past placing my order. The Hispanic woman taking the orders and working the register couldn’t speak or understand English, I tried to order a large won ton soup to go, she didn’t seem to understand, took the wrong order then tried to charge me $ 8.50 when the menu clearly stated $ 6.50. If you can get past the language barrier it might be worth a go, but for me I’ll take my business elsewhere.

Sooooo good, can’t go wrong. Not to be confused with the classy high-end Yet Wah that’s been a SF institution for decades. This is a an express take-out version with a few tables, doable for a quick lunch or lots of take-out. My son and I love having lunch here after his haircut. If you’re not sure what you want, they have pictures all over. If they don’t have a picture of your favorite dish, simply ask the Chef to make you a specialty dish. The Chef makes everything fresh, as you watch him cook with a wok — master skills! Food is prepared in less than 5 minutes, and comes out super hot. Party trays are a big hit. Every time my job has a potluck or the kids have holiday parties, everyone asks me to bring a tray of chicken chowmein. For vegetarians, the Chef can make plain chowmein without the chicken, and the cost is cheaper. Depending on the tray, it costs approximately $ 45 – 65, feeds up to 10 people. Again, he can make almost anything you want… never disappoints! This location is closed on Sundays, and they don’t deliver. Downtown San Rafael location is a fancier sit-down restaurant & open on Sundays. They can also accommodate any request(s).

When this place first option, it was very ho-hum; now this cook really knows how to use a wok and cooks everything fresh to order; It comes out hot and very tasty. There’s not much variety on the menu as most restaurant, but then again this is sort of like a hole in the wall type restaurant, and the food the cook does make are good.

Generous portions for a good price :) The staff was friendly. Even though General’s Tofu was not on the menu, she said they could make it. She even asked how spicy we wanted it. We asked for mild. I think next time we might go for medium. Our takeout food came in a large plastic clamshell with half steamed rice, half entrée. I was happy with the amount of rice because at most places we have to order an extra side of rice. She also made sure we had the right number of forks and chopsticks. Also included were soy sauce packets, fortune cookies, napkins, and a small container of red sauce. Pros * Friendly staff. * Good value — lots of food for the cost. * Custom spicy level. * There were several places to sit inside. There was also a restroom. * Private parking lot and also street parking. Cons * Sauce leaked out of the clamshell container and into the plastic bag. We picked up the food on a whim, and didn’t pay attention to how we were carrying it, so on the walk back to the hotel we were probably tipping it too much. Still, I feel that containers should have a good seal so they can survive walks and car rides, if needed.
