Redeemer Preschool

I have been a teacher at Redeemer Preschool for about 17 years, and love so much about the school. The setting is beautiful, nestled in next to a creek and plenty of trees. The families and staff are in partnership with each other to create a loving place to learn and grow.
I can’t help but notice the negative review below, but I can see that it was done by a former employee’s mother who doesn’t know much about the school first hand. Hopefully you will come and see the school for yourself! I am proud to be a teacher there. :)

We absolutely love this school. My son has been attending for a year and a half and my second son will be starting in the fall. The only tears shed on his part are when I pick him up and he doesn’t want to leave. I am so grateful for the love, structure, and support he receives from everyone there. It really feels like they are a team and an excellent partner to me no matter what my 3 year old is going through.
It is true they have a new director, and although she is younger than the previous director, she is mature and confident. She is one of the most kind-​hearted people I have had the pleasure of meeting. That said, she will do what is best for the kids as she has their wellbeing and growth paramount.
I’m very grateful to have found this preschool and we couldn’t be happier with our choice to send our kids here.

Might need to wait a year to seenhow this pans out — they have a Young &!inexperienced New Director — less than 3 months — forcing experienced lteachers out — Smacks of inexperience and insecurity, remaining teachers feeling nervous. Not a good environment for kids. Was a good school. I’d say wiait.

My son has been a student at Redeemer Preschool for two and a half years, and I can’t say enough good things about this amazing school, the wonderful director & teachers and fantastic curriculum. Redeemer has been such an enriching and transformative experience for my child and our entire family. We feel so fortunate to be a part of this community.
Redeemer is located in the Glenwood neighborhood of San Rafael, behind the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer. The preschool is not religiously affiliated, however. When I was looking for a preschool for my son, I wanted a school that was safe and secure, offered a great education in a play-​based environment and provided a diverse range of activities and experiences. Redeemer delivers on all accounts. This is also one of the only schools in Marin to be NAEYC accredited, which was important to me. My son started here as a two year old and is now in his final pre-​K year. [update: now graduated and off to Kindergarten!] He has learned so much, from how to share and sit at circle time, to math and pre-​reading. He’s had the opportunity to go on a bunch of wonderful field trips, from local pumpkin patches to The Lawrence Hall of Science, The Academy of Sciences and the San Francisco Zoo. Redeemer hosts special visitors for the children on a regular basis, including Scott the Storyteller, local firefighters and Chinese dragon dancers. The kids do yoga, they learn Spanish, they participate in cooking demonstrations, they get music and art lessons. The opportunities available to them are incredible, and my son has really enjoyed it.
The teachers at Redeemer are simply amazing and know how to engage any kind of personality type. They make learning fun and have great communication with parents. We regularly receive newsletters describing what my son is doing in class and the various lessons planned. We are emailed photos of him playing on the playground. Also, the grounds at Redeemer are first rate. The 2 and 3 year old classes share an outdoor play area and the two 4 – 5 year old classes share an adjoining play area. These play spaces are large, shaded and filled with new equipment. The students also garden in these play areas. My son never wants to leave. He could play there all day.
Another wonderful thing about this preschool is the great support it gets from the local community and parent organizations. Everyone volunteers, the parents all get to know each other, and there’s a very high level of involvement with the school. Redeemer is a very special school, and I feel so fortunate that my child and our family has been able to be a part of it. If you are looking for a preschool for your child, I give Redeemer Preschool a very enthusiastic recommendation.
