There are individual operators in this salon and I’ve only seen Debbie for color. So I“ll only comment on her. I followed Debbie from San Francisco where she had worked at Yosh’s and J. Cozza. (She has moved out here to be closer to her horse.) She is a wonderful colorist, knowledgable and pleasant to work with. She seems to have lots of blonds who adore her and come from all over and not only I have followed her to San Rafael. (you’ll notice that the other review which is negative is from four years ago, and I have no idea who she saw)

I came here several years ago by recommendation to get my roots touched up. I was a platinum blonde and my roots/​natural color are dirty blonde, so I wouldn’t have had to bleach my hair whatsoever — just a high lift was all I needed. I told the lady what I wanted, how I wanted it, and she told me she wouldn’t do it because «she would have to bleach it and that was too dangerous». If she actually knew a thing or two about the science of hair color, she would’ve known that I wouldn’t have needed bleach in the first place; I’ve never bleached my hair in my life! I should’ve walked out due to how rude she was, and because she knew nothing about what she was talking about, but 1.) I was young and had no backbone at the time, and 2.) she said she had a better idea. I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt and was in the salon for about two hours. After I was «done», my hair looked the same as before. EXACTLY the same. She kept saying, «don’t you love it! It’s sooo in right now!» I don’t know what planet this woman was from, but outgrown roots are never in. It wasn’t blended enough to be an ombré or considered balayage because my hair had no dimension, and it was obvious that we were looking at outgrown roots here. They were siting right there at the top of my head, still as ugly as ever.
Regardless, I was still charged an arm and a leg for something that wasn’t even fixed. I was pissed, my parents were pissed. Furthermore, I started a new school the following week looking like I walked out of a trailer park, and we all know how unforgiving kids in high school are, and yes, I got ridiculed immensely about my outgrown hair.
Do not come here unless you want to be belittled by ladies who think they know how to do their job. I felt absolutely manipulated because this woman got paid quite well for doing absolutely nothing on my hair. 4 years later, I am still bothered by this experience because it was so unfair. I never came back, or do i recommend this salon to anybody.
