The location is hard to find and my friend and I crisscrossed Redwood Road several times. I ate here once and remembered the restaurant serves local employees for quick service. The sweet and sour soup was quite good. The food is good but a bit oily. The flavors are nice however the fry time on the salt and pepper chicken was short and looked a bit anemic. The tiny restaurant is filled with boxes and supplies on one end. The tables are a bit greasy but the customers seemed happy as the prices are good.

They did delivery after an hour and gave us the meal for free. Food was good just bad delivery execution.

The food is of poor quality. The texture and freshness of the meat is really poor. I don’t like to write off a restaurant after only one try so I tried them again. same thing. Chicken chow mein tasted rotten. All ingredients seem to be, aged. Delivery was over an hour each time i ordered, That lucky # is 3. They were trying to be apologetic so they gave me 3 $ 15 off cards from GrubHub but when i tried to use them, they were invalid. I will never spend money here again.

I work nearby so this location is a great take-out option. I called in for one of their lunch specials — mixed vegetable with beef and 15 minutes later my meal was ready for pick up. I was pleasantly surprised at the generous portion size for $ 7.50. I was imagining the lunch specials would be small but I will have enough to eat for dinner. I like that the food doesn’t taste overly greasy and the veggies have a good crunch to them. It seems they were cooked fresh to order. Also, kudos for offering brown rice at no extra cost. I’ll be back to try other selections.

Chinese food should be what Thai food is not, and to that end this place does succeed in being non-spicy and the portions are generous, yet like Thai food, individual scallops or shrimp in the entrees and fried rice can be counted on single digits. The bottom line being you’re buying a lot of bland, starchy, rice, cheap veggies and noodles, «wheres the beef»! The poop oo platter was the very worst Ivd had in my 40+ years of eating Chinese on two US coasts, 31 countries and 6 continents. Simply drenched in oil, a heinously small portion, and that lingering taste of baking soda or whatever it is in the batter do you know I’m talking about? I saw that the wontons said they had cheese in them. Being in a hurry I didn’t think that through. «Cheese» would be stretching it may be some type of «processed cheese food». Ahah! I just thought of the perfect description: if hot pockets made a wonton, this would be it! It’s that exact same type of cheese that you had about six years ago the last time you tried a hot pocket. If you can recall. Murphy’s Law always tends to apply to online ordering, by default. So of course the day that you order Chinese food is going to be the day that you forget to pay your so phone bill. The first two times I ordered, I was in a different room in the same Sheraton Hotel. So of course the third time they try to still deliver to the one that they knew. Right? Even though I clearly put I had been in a new room in the comments box. Three hours later the food show up and I must say it was actually warm. But even if they couldn’t find me why are people creative enough to ask at the front desk where I might be and what room I might be in now? Ultimately it was the front desk that deliver ed my food not these people. My final comment is this is my first Unilocal review and I’m really enjoying it usually I become overly verbose I’ve never been encouraged like this to continue to write. Wow. I’m actually being appreciated. I guess this is going to be my home for suggestions and reviews now. Thank you Unilocal

Small place, not the best atmosphere but i wasnt there for that. I was met with friendly service. Even though i was there for takeout i was offered tea while i waited. The food was good, chow mein good, steamed buns awesome. Sweet and sour a little on the bland side compared to what i am used to but still delicious. Mango chicken very good, first time trying the dish. I would recomend it for takeout, probably not dine in though as the atmosphere wasnt the best. Overall im very satisfied

Ewww! That is the one word I have for this place! I ordered once from this place and was so disappointed by how greasy my order came to me. My food literally swam in grease! No amount of napkins could help it. And the taste was just too salty. Stopped after a few bites! Sorry, no way returning here!

First of all, I would like to second Galaxy’s review. My wife and I experienced the SAME exact service! We were welcomed by an app to make an order for delivery and were later called to tell us we had to come and pick it up. We already paid. We argued and pleaded with the woman in regards to our concerns about not being able or willing to pick it up. She continued to argue with is about not being able to modify our order or reduce the amount of sauce/vegetables. We finally conceded and asked to cancel and were astonished to her response that we would have to contact the third party company ourselves. Delivery is a luxury, I know that, but it should be just as luxurious to be able to offer it. We received confirmation of our refund and will never frequent this place again.

I thought this place used to be good, but we were really disappointed recently. Perhaps the ownership has changed? I think we will find a new place for our takeout Chinese.

I saw great reviews on this place so I placed an order for delivery, paid in full and waited two hours for no one to show up at all with my food. I tried calling the number listed on their site and Unilocal page and could not get through. Until finally an old Asian man answered speaking no English and hung up on me. I contacted the online ordering company that was used through my Unilocal app and they confirmed it was sent through. I was so frustrated with waiting so long that I decided to cancel my order and get a refund. Very disappointing experience.

Looking at the earlier reviews, I was not eager to try Happy Garden, but I was so thrilled to see updated reviews that were very positive. I have tried the lunch special, which is a fantastic deal for fresh, hot, Asian food in Marin. I really liked the broccoli with chicken. If you like scallion and cabbage, you should order the garlic chicken. My husband really enjoyed the orange chicken, too. Not once did I taste or feel MSG. A+. The fried rice that is included in the lunch special was very flavorful. Next time, I may try the noodles in the lunch special. As for ordering online, it is easy and safe. The food is prepared so quickly– once I waited around 20 minutes after ordering, updating student loan repayments and such online, and the owner called to check if I was coming. She said that she was worried that I was getting hungry! So sweet!

Stopped on the way to Point Reyes. Not from the area so wanted to try something not a chain. Pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was. Generous lunch portions although my Mongolian 3 combo was half onion. I hope this place lasts so I can visit our again next time I’m in the area.

Li has made huge strides to improve the quality of her food, and it shows. My fellow workers and I eat here two to three times a week, and the service is always friendly. Li usually has a big smile on her face, welcomes us by name, and gives us so much food that we have dinner for the night. Recently I hosted an event at my store, and she provided delicious egg rolls, chicken wings, and pot stickers for 10 attendees. Every plate was emptied within minutes! Delicious.

I am not sure how this place stays in business because I’m always the only one in there. That being said, I hope it stays in business forever. By far my favorite hot & sour soup ever. The chicken dishes are not nearly as heavy in sauce as other places, so you at least feel like it’s a lot healthier.

We get takeout from here quite regularly and really like the food. The menu has a lot of options including appetizers, dim sum, and a ton of vegetarian options. The portions are large and the food is prepared very quickly. We also like the owner a lot who is very friendly!

I use to love this place until tonight! I ordered a hot and sour soup to go with chicken. And there was no chicken at all. And they charged me for it. Very disappointed.

This place is great! I work nearby and it always a great experience for lunch. The portions are HUGE and extremely flavorful. The fried rice with my garlic chicken was some of the most flavorful rice I’ve ever had. I definitely don’t understand any complaints, the service is incredible friendly, quick, and helpful. Great place for a quick lunch, or longer more social event. Definitely give it a try!

My wife and I were going to have lunch together in the area and on the way to Eduardo’s we saw this restaurant(sorry, Eduardo’s, next time!). We’d seen the storefront closed for a while, so we decided to drop in. My wife and I are both from non-Chinese Asian countries where we eat a lot of Chinese food. The service was nice and friendly and the food was good, authentic Cantonese. It is a little on the salty and oily side, as some of the reviewers have said, but that is the way authentic Cantonese food is prepared. The next week my wife was ill and wanted some Chinese chicken noodle soup, what we have in Asia when we’re not feeling well. I ordered it from the menu and went to pick it up. There was an error on the restaurant side and they made the wrong soup, but when I said I needed chicken noodle soup for my sick wife, they quickly made the correct one and gave it to me at the price of the wrong(cheaper) soup, as well as giving me the other soup for free. What nice people! My only complaint, and why I’m giving four instead of five stars, is that their oil seems to be a little older in the evening than at lunch time. Or it could have just been the day I went. There are three Chinese restaurants in our area: Ping’s, Peking Wok and Happy Garden. Ping’s is nice for a sit-down meal, Peking Wok is OK for takeout, and Happy Garden is somewhere in between. I think we will start shifting our takeout from Peking Wok to Happy Garden!

I only knew about Happy Garden because I saw their grand opening sign from the highway. I wish I’d never seen that sign. I couldn’t find a menu online so I couldn’t call ahead to place my order. When I arrived, the restaurant was empty but it still took the hostess ten minutes to wait on me. After she took my order, I waited an additional twenty minutes during which I was served a free cup of hot and sour soup to make up for the wait. Unfortunately, this soup was a precursor of things to come: visually unappealing, salty, and verging on inedible. I had a stomachache within minutes. Every dish had one thing in common: the only flavor was salt. The meat dishes all contained poor-quality meat(chewy and full of nerves). The vegetable egg rolls were horribly greasy. This is the first time in my life I’ve turned down seconds on Chinese food and tossed leftovers rather than eat them the next day.
