DO NOT BUY ANY PRODUCTS. SOMEONE IS WATERING DOWN AVEDA PRODUCTS. PLEASE REPORT TO AVEVDA CORP 800−284−8616. I have been using Aveda products since 2003. I bought a liter bottle of shampoo only to find out it had been watered down one third into the product. Don’t waste your time or money. Purchase at an Aveda store.

Good luck booking an appointment. No one seems to answer the phone or return a call. I’ve been trying to book an appointment there for a couple of weeks now. I think I’ll try the Hidden Hairpin Salon.

Amanda is my stylist at the Hive and I have always gotten the 5 star treatment she always does a brilliant job with my cut and color. No one does better color! she has been doing my hair for years and i have never considered going anywhere else. If you want a great do and feel like a million bucks you should check her out!

I had three people attempt an A-​line on my hair and AMANDA was the ONLY person who could get it right! I will never go to anyone else! …she is absolutely lovely too!

The salon is simple in appearance but the quality is excellent. Many have said the owner is grumpy but I have never interacted with her. The salone feels like someplace trendy you would see in a hip city as opposed to a small town. I see Anthony for my hair and have been going to him for (literally) 18 years and have followed him from other salons. He listens to what I ask him to do and he has an amazing vision all his own. He did my hair for my wedding and helped make the day perfect. His skill with color is superb and I leave my appointments every single time saying «I love my hair». The best part possibly, is that he genuinely appreciates my happiness-​even after so many years at his job he is still humble.

Amanda has been styling, cutting and coloring my hair for years. While I lived in London, I used to make a point of coming in to have my hair done by Amanda while I was visiting my parents every summer. She is patient and gentle and understanding of my hair «needs» and has always done a great job on my hair. I relocated back to the area and am very happy to be able to go to Amanda regularly, about once a month. I get A LOT of compliments on my hair and that makes me happy.
The Hive is a lovely salon with ever-​changing art on the walls. It’s modern and friendly and it’s an Aveda salon, so there are lots of amazing products to buy. .. and I do!

For the first time in my life, someone finally gave me the haircut I have always needed. I have always hated my limp, lifeless, yet unruly hair and this lengthy shag cut that Amanda designed is exactly what I always needed. It’s totally manageable and looks great and for the first time in my life, I have been getting complimented on my hair everywhere I go! It’s like I am a whole new person. I plan to stay with this cut for quite awhile and would trust no one else to pull it off quite so well. I still can’t believe it took over thirty years for me to finally get the cut and style I always needed. Thanks!!!

This place is amazing. Amanda does my hair and that is that!!! She is thee best I could NEVER allow anyone else to ever touch my tresses again. Everyone at the salon is friendly and know how to make you look your best.

I made my first visit in late 2010 to see Janet. Shortly after, I moved from LA to Seattle. No one else has cut my hair since the move. That’s how much I like my cuts. I make frequent trips back to SoCal and schedule appointments to come in on Saturdays for a clean up.
Very reasonable price and great expertise in the cut. Janet really takes time to determine what you want and delivers with a great cut.

I’ve been a client of Janet, the owner, for many years. I was looking for a stylist that worked with fine hair and I asked my friend who she used and she recommended Janet. I happened to be at another, totally unrelated appointment and one of the Managers had fine, adorable hair — she too, coincidentally recommended Janet! 7 years later I have never been happier. She does an amazing job with color and cuts and the team she has there is really upbeat and very professional.

My stylist here, Anthony, is a real pro and cool guy, ask for him. This review is more about him than the Hive; I’d give him 5 stars but I know nothing about the other stylists here.
The salon features always-​changing art by local artists so the place has a cool artsy vibe.

Started seeing Janet about 2 years ago, and have only had a great experience. I used to go to Beverly Hills to have my blonde hair highlighted by a celebrity stylist prior to changing to Janet. My hair and color, since seeing Janet, is not only better than it was in Beverly Hills, but is FABULOUS and I am always receiving compliments on the color! The salon is small, but quiet and comfortable. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

I went to this salon undecided and followed Amanda’s preference for a perm, after she showed me some photos. I was treated by Amanda with the oversight of Janet, owner of the salon, who instructed Amanda to extend the the processing time.
I was literally bathed in chemicals, my eyes burned from the fumes, my top and body completely saturated, water hosed directly into my ears, and extremely painful pulling of my hair and irritation of my scalp. I had to ask for towels, a dry smock, and cotton to protect myself from further damage. I had to go outside to get a break from the fumes. I had to get Amanda’s attention away from another client she was chatting with at the desk after the timer had gone off so that she would tend to the perm. Amanda had not fully rinsed my hair when I was sent home, despite my request for an additional rinse.
I ended up with over-​processed hair, ongoing vertigo for which I had to have an emergency doctor’s visit, weakness, and inability to function normally or carry out my normal duties, including driving.
During my visit, Janet, the owner, never once asked me if I was alright or offer me a towel. On the contrary, Amanda informed me that she was concerned about the chemical smell affecting other customers, and the usage of her towels.
Amanda had previous issues with Janet, and had in fact left the salon for an extended time and set up at another location. I thought she would be professional and address my concerns. Instead, she has hung up on me twice, the man that answers the phone at the salon has misinformed me and hung up on me twice, and Amanda failed to return my messages or follow through with what she agreed to. Amanda, and the salon have apparently banded together in a completely unprofessional manner, and shut me out, despite my willingness to cooperate with them.
I therefore requested of Amanda the recipe for my hair color that had finally been arrived at after me having to go through her experimenting with the color, so that I could eventually go elsewhere, as directed by Amanda, for the color and cut that Amanda is now refusing. Amanda has refused this request to date as well. Even under normal circumstances my experience has been that it is extremely difficult to get a call returned by Janet or Amanda.
My recommendation is save your money, this is a dangerous and unprofessional outfit that hides behind eachother. They are not worth the aggravation, and should be reported to higher authorities.

Louie has an excellent eye and a wonderful talent. He keeps up with current trends and he makes excellent suggestions. I’m delighted I found him in San Pedro after arriving from Dallas!

Louie is a genius with color. Clean friendly atmosphere, reasonable prices and fun conversation. I came in with an idea, Louie created something even better. Plus they have Aveda products which always convinces me. I’ll be going back for a cut this week!
