I have been getting my hair done here for years! I love it! It is so cozy and relaxing that I wish I could be here every week!

Super cute salon in the hip part of San Pedro. The décor consists of Frida Kahlo paintings and hand made dolls imported from Mexico. I haven’t really talked to any of the staff here besides my stylist, but everyone seems really nice. Talina is my stylist here and she is amazing with color and knows how to style my hair just the way I like it. My hair is dark brown(almost black) and she’s able to get it to the perfect shade of red. I have longer hair(mid-back) and on my first visit, I paid 110 for color, cut and style. Check in on Unilocal and get 10% off. The only downside here is the parking(metered street) but if you come during the weekends or after 5, you can park free at the San Pedro courthouse lot. I can see myself growing old in this salon.

I personally had a great experience at this salon. I got a good haircut, and the lady who did my eyebrows was super nice. I also tried an Aveda conditioner that I really like. Affordable prices too. Don’t be afraid to come to downtown San Pedro. It’s improving very quickly. If you’re super cheap, park at Ports O’ Call for free and take the free trolley on the weekends to downtown.

Thanks again Unilocal for the help. Was looking for a local stylist to help out with my hair — Yes, I am a guy who cares about his hair cuts. I love a stylist up on Fairfax, but he is so expensive and such a drive that it’s getting too much of a hassle to keep going there. I found Fragments here on Unilocal and since they are an Aveda salon, I thought to give them a shot. Erica is perfect, she got me the hair cut I have been looking for right out the gate and as it grew in, it actually looked better. I was so happy. I have been back a number of times now and will continue to do so. Finally found a stylist in South Bay(I have tried a few salons with no luck till I found this gem) that goes beyond the standard guy’s hair cuts and is good at what she does.

I have gotten a cut here twice, with two different stylists. I was first drawn to the salon because they have really cool décor. The first time, the stylist did a good job with the cut and a really good job styling. However, as another reviewer mentioned, the customer service here is lacking. When I walked in, no really acted like they wanted me there. I got a bad vibe right off the bat, and just felt like an intruder the entire time. So– I decided to give Fragments another try because I love Aveda products and I was satisfied with the cut I got previously. I didn’t remember the name of the stylist that cut my hair the first time(probably because she never told me) so I ended up with another stylist for round 2. She was 15 minutes late for my appointment and then when she walked in, she said«You got here early huh?». Ummmm, no… Again, she did a decent job cutting my hair and styling, but not as good as the previous time. To sum it up, there are plenty of salons in San Pedro, why go to one where you feel like an inconvenience?

On my third visit to Fragments, I needed a «drastic» haircut to cut off some damaged hair from old highlights. So Monique took three inches off and added some layers… but my hair still«feels» long and weeks later I’m loving the cut more and more. I can do so many styles with it. She also put a demi-permanent color on it to remove some of the sun bleaching. Now my hair is so soft and shiny. I put my trust in her hands and was really pleased with the outcome!

my experience at fragments kind of sucked. i had read the reviews on Unilocal and i wanted to check it out, as i live in the same neighborhood. i called early in the week to make a saturday appointment. when i arrived, the stylist(monique) had not been made aware that she was supposed to see me. i sat and waited for about a half an hour, while the ladies all gabbed and took their sweet time. monique did a good-enough job and was nice and everything, but she almost ripped my scalp off when she was washing my hair(loooong acrylic nails, OUCH) and i just felt unwelcome there. the customer service was lacking and left me longing for my usual salon, savoie in pomona. i wouldn’t go back.

Very cool atmosphere, use Aveda products, and sell some cool clothes too! And yes, Hollie is as good as the other reviewer said. My hair has never looked better!

Hollie at Fragments has been cutting my hair for about 4 years and in that time we’ve added my husband and 4-year old daughter to her clientele. She does a great job, is great with kids, and often willing to squeeze one or more of us into her schedule on short notice. The salon itself is kind of hip and groovy. Painted bright colors — it’s a very happy place and yet relaxing at the same time. They carry the full line of Aveda products. I am honestly not sure what other services they offer in addition to hair styling, but I think they have some spa fare like massages and such. So in that respect this is probably not an overly helpful review! Sorry!
