Came here to buy the last bottle of Hennessy XO at a great price. I have been eye balling this bottle for two years. Checked around other places but no store beat Mr. C’s. I also love their beer selection. Friendly staff as always.

I just had such a bad experience here this evening I felt the need to post something about it. I walk in to buy some things and walk up to the cashier. There was one employee manning 2 cashier machines. He was helping 2 people in front of me and he had this«look» on his face when I walked up and immediately went to the other machine to help someone. When he was done he helped the people behind them instead of me. They were his«kind» and he addressed them in their native tongue. They looked at me guiltily because they knew I was next. Finally he came back to me. I was overhearing the owner/manager on the phone with card support and asked if there was a problem. He had that same«disgusted» look on his face and said yeah, cash only. Maybe they could have put a sign up? It has been so long since I have experienced cold, hard-in-your-face prejudice. I mean, this is 2015. Can’t we all get along by now? If the owner ever wonders why certain people do not visit his store except for the employees own kind, now he will know why.

Need some liquor, beer, snacks, smokes, lottery/scratchers? Well-well you’ve come to right place. BTW, its one of the winningest spots for lottery in southern california so if the jackpot is in the hundreds of millions, the line will be out the door and Down the plaza. Don’t leave your car running…

Aside from the Lucky Lotto, I always feel welcome when I enter the liquor store when ever I stop by all the way from Bakersfield. We normally go to the Pier for the sea breeze & food but always ended up at Mr. C’s. Everyone in the San Pedro neighborhood should stop by & say hello, check out the new Lotto, never know how lucky you’ll be till you try…

Pretty good selection of craft beers. Decent wine selection. If your a lottery fan this place is a winner. Literally!!! Big setup for playing scratchers and picking numbers, huge selection of lottery tickets ranging from $ 1-$ 10. Apparently they have quite the track record of winning tickets at this joint.

San Pedro is way out of the way from anywhere I’d normally go, so why would I travel to some random liquor store? Well, it turns out Mr. C’s Liquor is not just some random liquor store, but rather one of three Lotto vendors in the Southern California area with the most wins of $ 1M or more. The others are located in Los Angeles and Oxnard. For Lotto, this place is super organized and nice. They have the standard display positioned right as you enter the front door and even provide a small table and chairs to sit at and mark off your chosen numbers. There is also a machine that will allow you to check previously purchased tickets to see if they are winners stationed on the side of a Scratchers dispenser. At 7:00PM on a Thursday night before a Friday’s Mega Millions $ 540 Million draw, I found the line for purchasing Lotto tickets out the door and about a thirty minute wait. Their was an excitement in the air over the amount of money to be won and everyone was orderly and the line moved pretty quickly. The clerk was super nice and made small talk while the tickets were printing. As liquor stores goes, since the line was whipping around the entire store, I got to peruse what they had on sale and I was delighted to find many imports and popular singles of beer in the cold case and a nice selection of wine on the back wall. Things like Pyramid Apricot Ale, Stone IPA, Fat Tire, barefoot wine and others. Lets put it this way, they put my local neighborhood liquor store to shame. Now, I know statically a store that sells more tickets will have more winners, but wouldn’t it be cool to be a winner at one of the most winning-est stores and have a story to tell after winning one of the biggest jackpots ever? Dragon Luck!!!

Just your basic liquor store. It used to be the store to go to for lottery tix with its countless wins, but the«lucky» machine was switched out for a new one. Dont know how to really rate a basic liquor store so i gave it the 3 star average– it is what it is.
