There is nothing lower than 1 star or I would have used that. Horrible! That’s my 1 word review for this place The lady didnt understand how much hair to cut, even after telling her, she kept on cutting one side and then other side to match it, and she cut my hair too small. I explained her how to do my side burns like 5 times still she did it wrong and did the same thing, she cut one side, and then other side she cut too small, well now she has to cut the first one to match and everything out of proportions. Never ever going back to this place ever again, even if they pay me to come there no I wont.

Ming Chu Wang made me look and feel great! She clipped the sides and tapered, did some texturing on the sides and the medium length top, and even added some style with product at the end. Exactly what I was looking for, all I did was describe what I wanted and showed her a picture of my last cut. She’s hilarious and friendly, and even gave me some tips from her ascthetician background. I recommend making an appointment. She’s a unique artist to be discovered in this world of franchise supercuts. :D

Ming Su always does an amazing job, I leave the store looking like I have a hundred-dollar hair cut. The entire staff is friendly and welcoming, and I’ve never had to wait longer than 5 minutes for a haircut. Thank you Ming Su :)

If you go to this location ask to not have Maria Portillo. Terrible stylist I asked her to cut my hair with a number 2 metal Clippers and she said she did not have them so she used the number 2 plastic which cut my hair too long. I once again ask her if she can use number to metal and she said does not have them soon after she pulled out her drawer and had a full set of metal Clippers. She then cut my hair with the metal Clippers and it was much better. I do not know why she would lie about not having metal Clippers. She then continued to cut the back of my neck digging extremely deep almost as if it was on purpose I told her 3 times it was too rough and she said you have sensitive skin I replied I do not have sensitive skin you’re digging the metal into my neck she said well at least you’re not bleeding. That is completely unprofessional. I told her please do not go that rough. Once finishing that haircut I went to the receptionist which was an Asian male at the front counter I handed him my credit card and he said how much tip are you adding I said excuse me I can add a tip on the receipt he replied I want to add it onto the purchase. I have been going to Supercuts for over 20 years and never have heard about adding a tip to the initial purchase and it is extremely unprofessional for someone to ask how much tip do you want to add in front of other customers and employees. To finish off the terrible service he replied do you want your receipt so I replied yes in which she gave me a weird look put the receipt down on the counter. Not sure why their practices have to be like this maybe it’s just poor service all around. I’ll stick with my usual stylist at another Supercuts down the road I do not suggest going to San Mateo location 5 minutes down the road another Supercuts you can have great service. I guess I learned my lesson on this one

I had a 6:30 appointment with Salina. I walked in at 6:28 with another customer and she took that person first and said she would be with me in ten minutes. At 6:55, still had not been seen and two others had walked in and received a haircut by another stylist. Clearly their appointment system does not mean anything and customer service is non existent. I had been a regular customer who tipped well but is extremely dissatisfied with the service. Will look for another place to support.

What happen to my favorite Super Cuts, we have been using this location for a few years and have until this visit been more than satisfied with the service however; when we got our haircut on 02÷28÷16 the service turned to zero. It took more than fifteen minutes to check-in at the desk, the lady could not use the computer hand had an terrible time getting our names right. When it was our turn two people who had signed in after us were taken, I asked why and this same lady said«oh sorry, sorry’ then took us. When it was time to pay the lady that cut my hair and the lady at the computer(register) got into a verbal argument. We had to wait another 10 minutes for the argument to stop for us to pay and leave. Hope they can get their act together soon.

I typically have Min Su cut my hair(she’s the best!) but she wasn’t there today so I had another lady instead– I didn’t catch her name. She was a little rough with brushing my hair, whenever there were tangles or knots– she would just pull the comb straight through them. She was fairly quiet but very nice. She recommended a few things to try for my dry hair but didn’t push any products on me, which I appreciated! I walked in without an appointment & got a chair immediately which I was really happy about. The work is quick but good & the price is worth it, I’ll keep coming back!

I am not the type of girl who wants to spend $ 500 on one hair appointment, so Supercuts totally fits the bill for me. I am not picky, generally know what I want(usually that involves the words«Just cut short, a little layering, no short mom-cut). The woman who cuts my hair here(I believe her name is Mae) is very nice, has gorgeous hair herself and has never disappointed me. I’m in and out in about 20 minutes and I get compliments galore for about a week until I somehow mess it all up again. Honestly, if you aren’t too finicky and just want a basic cut and styling, go here. Save yourself the funds and splurge on something really nice later, like a car, or a house, or a dog. You know, stuff that matters.

This is a nice place. I have only tried one of the other lady barbers when Thinh wasn’t free and I had to get it done then. As of now I can only recommend Thinh with a Five Star rating. He only works on the weekends and you better have an appointment. He is very passionate about his work. He takes his time and makes sure your cut is right. He is a very friendly, humble, and quiet man. He concentrates on his work, does a great job for only $ 18, and well worth a good tip. I am so glad I found him. I have had some very disappointing hair cuts from other places that cost almost as much. If you want a great haircut experience, and a great price, ask for Thinh. Another perk is your 13th haircut is free.

I have had several haircuts by Ming Chu Wang, obviously she does a good job on my hair. I always call ahead for a haircut. Ming starts at noon so today I called in the morning and arranged for a haircut at noon. Ming has always been ready for me a couple of minutes after noon. Now I figure if I take the time to make an appointment I should not have to wait while she does someone elses hair. Today I got there, according to the clock on their wall at 12:01. Ming was working on someone else. I waited 10 minutes and still she was working on the other client. As far as I’m concerned I should not have had to wait, so I left and won’t be going back. When you have a client who takes the time to make an appointment that client comes before a «walk-in» Needless to say I won’t be back.

I have a problem. I’m a very frugal person, but I also have hair that’s really difficult to cut(think LOTS of thick, coarse hair, super dry, wavy in an unflattering way). I definitely do not cut my hair as often as I should, and once my hair gets too long, I dread having to figure out whether I’m willing shell out the $$$ or just get it poorly cut. Not anymore! I walked in with no appointment and got seated right away with the utterly sweet, attentive and caring Mega. I gave her little direction(just want it cut past my shoulder with layers). As with every hair dresser, she commented on the thickness and waviness of my hair but with no judgment and did not try to push any extra products on me. She apologized every time she barely pulled at my hair and worked diligently. I looked at the end result and wanted some more layering/thinning out, but she firmly gave me her expert opinion and advised against cutting my hair any shorter or it would curl more. You have no idea how grateful I am for her kind, yet honest approach. One of the best haircuts I’ve had ever, and it was only $ 20. Will definitely be coming back! P. S. The wait utterly depends on your timing. Be prepared to wait 15 min or so and possibly be pleasantly surprised. Also, when I was there, another hairdresser was cutting a child’s hair and seemed great with him. Seems like the staff overall here are really great!

I’ve been a customer of James for the past 3 years and I only trust him to cut my hair. I followed him originally from Supercuts — Belmont to Supercuts — San Mateo. He recently moved to a more high-end salon called Blossom Spa & Salon( ) Although it’s slightly more expensive, it’s still definitely worth it. For those of you that gotten your haircut from James, you know he’s very detailed and goes with exactly what you want. They currently have a $ 20 off deal for new customers so you can go see him for $ 30.

Love them! They are friendly and professional. I used to prefer a trip to the dentist than one to the hairdresser… Then I found a great dentist but couldn’t find a decent hairdresser. It was so depressing. The amount of money I would spend on a haircut was in no way proportional to the quality of the final result… Actually, the more expensive the salon the more attitude I would get and the more tragic the ending. I have had a short pixie hairdo for decades(think Mia Farrow in Rosemary’s Baby) and no one seemed to know how to keep my hairstyle feminine and elegant. Finally I found my way to Supercut and I am SO happy with«J.» my stylist there that I followed him from Supercut Belmont to San Mateo :))
