Renewed confidence! I’ve been to this restaurant before and thought it was good, but nothing special. Went back today(because cheap cantonese food) and was blown away by the changes. The complimentary soup was fresh(usually it’s a soup that’s been pre-cooked and sitting there the whole evening, delicious, but not fresh), the dishes were not only delicious and generous, AND they now serve a complimentary sweet tofu dessert that is amazing, not to mention refreshing after the whole meal. My favorite was the«egg tofu on chinese greens», the egg tofu was lightly fried to such perfection, with the right amount of flavor. Also highly recommend the preserved vegetables with braised pork belly(direct translation from chinese, not sure what it is on the menu). Pro-tip! — Definitely ask for their homemade chili sauce, as it’s super unique and tasty!

DELICIOUS food, AMAZING value, FRIENDLY service, CLEAN bathroom. I HIGHLY recommend this neighborhood gem. Had the Mandarin Chicken, Spicy Eggplant with Pork, and Beef and String Beans. Can’t wait to try more dishes next time!

Reliable, cheap, convenient, family-friendly, clean, tasty. I endorse this restaurant wholeheartedly with all these adjectives. If you are looking for good, solid Chinese food then Jade Dragon is a great choice. You won’t find many fancy modern/fusion dishes. These are all the dependable Chinese staples that you might find in a typical household. Prices are very reasonable and portions are not skimpy. I’ve also used them for catering a large group of 25 and had no complaints. Highlight dishes: Mandarin wings are delicious. We also ordered the lobster special which was well prepared with lo mein. If you’re in the neighborhood and craving Chinese, check it out.

We only did takeout here. Cheap, and the food wasn’t really good. Maybe if we’d gotten some real Chinese? We always like to support little mom-and-pop places, but I can’t really recommend this. Got some classic American dishes. * Mongolian beef — NOT. Just stir fried beef, at least that’s what it was supposed to be, but it had a really weird texture, and not really sliced, but looked like extruded pieces, with onions swimming in a bland watery sauce. *Sweet and sour chicken — OK. The chicken was really tough and dry, real pineapple, good amount of sauce but it was really gooey and too artificial. *Spicy eggplant with minced pork — not spicy but the most edible of the three. The eggplant wasn’t too overcooked, the sauce was decent, and the meat was minced, so it wasn’t too distinguishable.

So, just ate. I ordered General Tso chicken and got what appears to be kung pao chicken. The old guy who waited on us insisted that it was their«special’ general tso dish. When I pushed the issue he pretended he could not speak english. This place sucks.

I come for lunch a couple times a month, and let me tell you, it is no little shanghai. For $ 6.50 you only get entrée + rice. No soup, no eggroll. Portions are commendable. Maybe 1.5 cups of rice, 6−10oz of entrée. The quality is fair, but really lacks that Chinese punch. I’ve tried the Mongolian beef, Beef Chow fun, and Mandarin beef. All are around the same quality, a respectable 6.5÷10.

Came here on a Monday and ordered three dishes. Sweet and sour fish, string beans with chicken, and mixed veggies. Both my friend and I thought the fish may have gone bad and the chicken had an odd texture /flavor. The string beans was done very well but that may have just been due to the power of relativity. We gave this restaurant a shot because it was rated 4⁄5 stars but it it bad enough where us formly poor peoples wanted to waste food.

We went back a couple of days later and did try their honey walnut prawns and the beef chowfun, both lunch specials $ 7.50 each. Both were excellent choices– highly recommended.

Man… I really wanted to like this restaurant, I am always looking for a great Chinese restaurant. I have to say for a Chinese restaurant the service was GREAT!!! We were greeted by a very friendly gentleman who was taking all of the orders and bringing out the food, he was by himself and did a pretty good job of taking care of all the tables. ** 4 stars for the service! ** However, the food was just okay. Ordered skinny noodle tomato beef chow mein, I didn’t really care for it. The pot stickers were a bit over cooked on the outside and mushy on the inside(more than they are supposed to be) and a bit bland. The dish I liked the most is the one dish I almost never order, mixed vegetables. They were cooked perfectly and well flavored. ** 2 stars for the food ** Prices are reasonable. Parking can be difficult as this location is on El Camino near 25th Ave, both very busy streets.

Came in to get takeout Saturday after reading all the good reviews here on Unilocal. Not sure if the restaurant was having an off day or what, because my experience was quite negative. First off, the place was empty at 5:30 on a Saturday. Secondly, there’s big photos of the food all over the walls and it’s a weird vibe. The reviews were good so we ordered anyways. Crab puffs were full of strings of surimi with almost no cream cheese resulting in a wet, mushy texture and unexcellent flavor. The potstickers also had a soupy filling that was texturally unpleasant, although the wrapper was nicely crisped. Beef and broccoli was bland, watery, and the broccoli was undercooked to almost raw. Mandarin chicken was ok, very sweet but the best thing we tried. To top off the list of disappointments the bill was over $ 46, so I was pretty bummed. I can’t see how this place got so many good reviews, unless people really don’t have a clue about what they’re eating.

$ 20 for a 3 dish take out… Super easy on a busy night when neither of us want to cook or go out. They have plenty of options to choose from, and they are way faster than Yummy World, so, that’s a win when I just want some fast take out to then go straight home to enjoy!

Quick fast service. Ordered and the food came out fast ordered the walnut pawns which were delicious. Second dish was beef and pawn with flat noodle which was also good. Prices were not bad for the quality and quantity of the food.

I’m always on the lookout for good Chinese restaurants near home and Jade Dragon popped up on my radar. Known for its homestyle cooking and inexpensive prices, I was immediately drawn in. The meal started with the house bone soup, which really reminded me of home. We ordered mapo tofu and honey walnut prawns for our entrees, which came with mixed reviews. The tofu wasn’t anything like I expected and had many elements I didn’t expect, such as the fermented cabbage which gave the dish a sour taste. The prawns were just so-so and lacked much depth at all. Overall, a disappointment. Service can be described as looming. Our server liked to hang out around the table despite us sending him away which made the ordering and dining experience very uncomfortable. Prices are pretty cheap and I hear their lunch specials are pretty good, but I don’t think I’ll be back. Food: 5⁄10 Service: 5⁄10 Price: $$ Atmosphere: 6⁄10

Walked down El Camino Real for dinner the other night and got seated. I got an order of the cucumber with minced pork, the mandarin chicken, and bbq pork fried rice. The first and last dishes were okay, but I totally fell in love with the chicken. The amount of sweet and spicy with the chicken was wonderful, almost perfect. I would highly recommend getting that alone.(It’s almost at the caliber at SO or San Tung, for reference, and it’s a great thing) The prices are fine, and the service is too kind. They were a bit backed up on orders, but we honestly didn’t mind the wait and were given ice cream at the end. I really hope they stay around the area, as this is one of the few Chinese restaurants in the area that I actually would go back to on a frequent basis. Especially for the Mandarin Chicken!

It is hard to compete when there are so many Chinese restaurants in the vicinity. But bless Jade Dragon Restaurant. It’s new *and* can keep up with the competition. Things That Were Awesome: +++Roasted Duck Noodle Soup. Finally a Chinese duck soup dish that isn’t super salty and/or greasy. Noodles left something to be desired. The broth soothed the soul. +++Mandarin chicken. 10 stars out of 5 for this alone. Lots of chicken for the money. Slightly sweet and nicely seasoned. This is close to San Tung chicken. However you get way more chicken and way less wait time. Things That Were Not so Awesome: —Wait time. Came during dinner time and it seemed everyone wanted to order something to go. I have taken notes. This is a place worth ordering takeout for. —BBQ Pork fried rice. It’s not terrible fried rice. It just didn’t make an impact on me like the Mandarin chicken did. I am trying the spicy eggplant next time. I’m already craving for more Mandarin chicken.

I was told by the staff that their Mandarin Chicken Wings were made very popular among diners thank to Unilocalers’ photos and reviews. The wings were indeed quite good. They are not on a par with SO or San Tung in the city but still perfectly appetizing. That was not the only dish that worth mentioning. The Sizzling Ginger & Green Onion Oyster was even more memorable — imagine fresh juicy oyster, deep-fried and served over a fiery hot plate drenched in sauteed vegetable. The dish was very nicely done. Had it not been the disappointingly bland salt fish chicken bean curd clay pot, my dinner would have been supreme. It seems like clay pot dishes really weren’t their strength. Flavors were lacking. Some of the vegetables were not cooked enough. The chicken breast meat used in the pot were very coarse. Silver House next door could conjure up a much better Cantonese clay pot any time. Jade Dragon is probably one of the places with a few outstanding signature items that keeps people coming back for. Wait staff do give good recommendations so don’t hesitate to ask.

This is a nice restaurant that has above average décor and is very clean. The food was great — meaning that it was prepared very well, not too greasy, and served with a smile. Our family had their $ 30 special which included a Shrimp and Broccoli, Sauteed Pea Leaves, and Scollop and Chinese Broccoli. All the dishes were very well done and it came with a light soup with a nice broth. The price can’t be beat. Since there were four of us, we also ordered their Chef special braised pigeon. The kids freaked, but it tasked like a tiny duck. It was very good and my wife(super picky about Asian food) even exclaimed that it was well done. Finally, our waitperson was very pleasant. He was very nice and attentive. When my daughter dropped one chopstick, he was there with a replacement in no time at all. If it wasn’t for the slightly above average décor, this place could score 5 stars.
