A bit disappointed in my visit. Both my friend’s order of fish n’ chips as well as mine came with bad fish.(There were bitter spots in the fish) I had eaten there a few times before with no problems, so maybe it was just a bad day for them???

Picture this… I’m in my car on my way out to lunch trying to figure out what I should have, when a flash of light came trembling down in my head. As this lightning effect occurred it ignited a light bulb of thought. **DINK!!!** I shall try Peninsual Grill considering it maybe awhile before I come back. I drive across the street from the Crossroad buildings off the 92 and 101 to this little strip mall that has Trade Joes, 7-Eleven, Ross, TJ Max, Rite, and the once was — Circuit City. I cross all these lovely building and come to the end — HALLAUYAH a nice white home cabin of a place was displayed in front of my eyes. I walk in the double doors and asked the cashier what the popular item was for lunch. She had mentioned the cheeseburger but I saw the words«Monte Cristo» on menu behind her a concluded my decision. Everything came out to less then $ 10 and I sat down. As I waited I was look at the old tube TV that was showing afternoon soap operas and shortly after my daydreaming the Monte Cristo was ready. Let’s just say it was huge and they don’t cheap out on quantity and quality. The Monte Cristo paired with fries and strawberry jam. Wow, this was by far one of the best Strawberry jam I’ve had spread over Monte Cristo. Quite different, I might add that normally had MCs in the past with a French Toast like bread but that was pancake battered french toast, ham, turkey, and mozzarella Cheese with some powered sugar. The experience was really something else both the environment and food. I would recommending here if you looking for a cheap breakfast place.

First time in San Francisco, and am staying in San Mateo. Looking for a quick bite, I found Peninsula Grill off Google Maps. From the San Mateo Marriott, its around the corner from the strip mall(TJMAXX, Rite Aid, Ross,) I grabbed a bacon cheeseburger, fries, and a diet coke. I must say I was surprised how good it was, as the outside decore doesn’t do it much justice. If your looking for something quick and you don’t have a rental, etc. Check it out. Another note to mention, they serve breakfast all day long. I might check that out as I’m here all week. Hope this helps.

This is your basic truck stop kind of a place. Breakfast is served all day and the list of burgers and such is as long as my arm. Nothing special, but it doesn’t pretend to be. Inexpensive and deservedly so.

Peninsula Grill, the dying grounds for restaurant patrons. You should go here if you have given up on life. If you are contemplating suicide, this place is appropriate for your last meal. Boasting a large menu of foods that will oppress the palette, Peninsula Grill has mastered the art of turning food into a sad and somber event. I was eating a burger and asking myself«Why finish this burger? To sustain my body for another meaningless day in a uncaring world?» Leaving this place is the only way to escape the harsh realities of how suck-ass this restaurant really is. Life is worth living, as long as you don’t go to Peninsula Grill.

From the outside, Peninsula Grill looks like a cross between an I-Hop and a Las Vegas Strip Club with a steep slanted roof and cheesy neon lights surrounding the edge of the building. This is a genuine dive, offering a variety of greasy spoon items(including breakfast all day) at reasonable prices. Two eggs, two pancakes, and two bacon or sausage will cost you $ 3.99 during the week and $ 4.99 during the weekend because of hen labor laws.(California law mandates a higher wage for any chicken, hen, or rooster involved in egg laying after regular business hours. Vote yes to Prop 67 to ban Chicken Unions) The atmosphere also fits a dive restaurant with a very basic interior including a few pictures of tomato people. You order from a counter and then they bring you your food. Don’t worry, actual people serve you, not the tomato people. So go bring your dollar bills, a good appetite, maybe some tums, and enjoy a meal at Peninsula Grill.

We call it the grease pit at my work. It’s a greasy spoon with pretty nice staff. They do a lot of things, but none of them all that well. It’s more of a viable option if you work nearby and want breakfast /swordfish/sandwich/deep fried stuff/burgers within walking distance. It is what it is.

Your basic greasy spoon joint. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, eggs, sandwiches(hot or cold), Mexican stuff, Greek stuff, smoothies, etc., they have it all here. Order a the counter, grab a number, watch TV on screen, wait for your food to arrive. Food is OK, not spectacular. Omelettes with hash browns are OK. Had a patty melt(the ultimate grease sponge), and about what I expected(greasy, gooey). Kids always order the crepes, but looks like they use pie filling for the fruit. I found it too sweet, but of course the kids loved them. People working there are pretty friendly, and they make sure the table are cleared and cleaned for the next group. Prices are cheap.

I have eaten here a few times and find it marginal. The air inside is especially stagnant leading to the smell of a old wood building that has had food cooked on a grill for many years, just as it is. They really need to improve the ventilation or even leave the door open most of the time. The place is acceptably clean, seating is ok, and they have a TV on. My burger was big and tasted ok, fries were ok too. The soda(Sprite) was almost flat. They have many choices on the menu including breakfast and traditional dinner items like pork chops. While I was there, about 7:00PM on a Sunday, they had only one other customer in the 45 minutes I was seated. I noticed they got excellent marks in the health inspection(posted on front door). Overall, I would say it is probably ok to eat there, especially if you work nearby. However, I would not go there given a choice of some other local hamburger joints. Certainly, you would not take a date there.

This place is awful. If they refined their menu and focused on a single cuisine, it may improve things. In any case, the food is bland and they need to clean their soda fountain, as multiple sodas taste bad. I couldn’t pick something from their oversized menu, so I just went with a chicken quesadilla, and it tasted as if they used American cheese in it. In any case, it was obviously processed cheese, and flavorless, and the chicken seemed prepackaged. They get points for keeping a clean restaurant and dining room and having friendly staff.

My coworker recommended this place for lunch, so I decided to check it out. I was surprised to see how close it was to my job. Located in a plaza with Trader Joe’s, Circuit City, Ross, and more, the Peninsula Grill resembles that of an IHOP(as mentioned in previous reviews). When you first enter the restaurant, you’ll notice how huge the menu is. It was actually overwhelming for me because there were so many items to choose from. There are burgers, sandwiches, appetizers, salads and soups, numerous entrees, and EVEN breakfast. I felt like a burger, so I ordered the 1⁄3 burger with fries and a soda. For that meal, it cost me only $ 5.56 with coupon, which you can retrieve online at . There are also coupons for a discounted breakfast and a buy 1 get 1 free dinner entrée. The burger was very good and fulfilling and they weren’t greedy with their french fries. I was very satisfied with this meal. In fact, I have ordered the same thing every time I stepped foot into there. Hopefully, I will be able to be recognized as a regular and the cashier asks, «The Usual?» Great prices, great service, great food.

I stayed at the Marriot across the street. We needed something to eat that wasn’t fast food and this was what we found. Everything is about 10 bucks and you get a lot. It’s a lot like a lot of those oldschool mom and pop diners. I ordered some special that consisted of a turkey, monterey jack cheese and french toast. I got fries on the side. It was also huge. There is plenty of parking and plenty of tables to sit and eat. The food is ok. It’s not crowded either.

This is like another hole in the wall. I have always seen this place(I think it was an old IHOP.) but never went in. Well I finally did and to my amazement I found the place very clean and the food was decent. I had the rib eye steak special. mashed potatoes and veg. bread for only 9.95, WOW, I thought I would get a small steak I was wrong it looked to be about a 12oz boneless steak. Cooked perfect with nice grill marks. We also ordered a kids meal with chicken nuggets. Don’t order this. Processed meat that had the texture of bubble gum. Less one star. The bath rooms were super clean. Over all place for a bite.(NICE).

I went to this place with high hopes, especially since our 900 concar drive office cafeteria food was getting too mundane. Was overwhelmed with the variety of options on the menu, ended up ordering a Burrito to-go. It was a long wait, 15 minutes if not less which are really precious in a 1 hour lunch time. I noticed that eat-in customers were being served before the to-go orders. The burrito turned out to be this heavy mass of food, more than a pound, some might say its more food for your money, wouldnt mind that if the food is good. The salsa was made out of fresh vegetables but I guess it was made about 3 days back, thats not really fresh. Beef was below mediocre, hard and seems had been frozen for quite a while. I did engage into a conversation with I guess the owner on the other side of the counter while waiting for my to-go order, he mentioned everything was made fresh and I asked him do you have a Gyro going inside… pale face, said that comes pre-packed but is still good. Should have understood how my Burrito will be. Dont go there, if you are taking the time to drive for lunch, better go downtown which is not very far from this location.

This is soon to be the closest restaurant to our new office. I wish it was better! It was mostly edible, but not awesome. Things start when you’re bombarded by an absolutely massive menu. Breakfast all day(waffles, pancakes, eggs, omlettes, etc), Greek food, Mexican food, burgers, salads, etc. It truly epitomizes how too many choices can stress you out! The Greek salad I got with my gyro was totally disgusting. Very limp and just tasted sour and stale. The gyro itself and the fries were passable. The breakfast items other people in the party ordered looked pretty good. Maybe those are the right items to order. I think if I went back, I’d try breakfast items, but this place will definitely not be somewhere I seek out.

Walked into this place for the 1st time a few months ago. Looked around and more than 90% of the folks in there… well, let’s say were at minimum — pleasantly plump. Thank, goodness! I thought, «Now, these people know their food!» I got grilled ribeye for around $ 12. They gave me a side, soup, and a roll for the one low price of $ 12! WHOOOO! They have a wide selection of food, too! You wanna burger? Check. Want to order breakfast at 3pm? No problem. Burrito? Sure. This place has so much to choose from, and yes, I will definitely return!

There absolutely nothing special or fancy about the Peninsula grill. The food here is simple and basic. It can best be described as a mom and pop Denny’s. They serve breakfast all day long and offer items like BLT’s, Chef Salad, Cheesesteaks and Burgers for lunch. From the looks of the place it was probably and old IHOP long ago. The food is edible but not memorable.
