I had the beer(Harp) on the tap and my buddy Bombay Gin and Tonic. The drink were very good and the servers were very friendly Please note that his place NOT dog friendly and my buddies dog was politely turned away They have a tie up with multiple restaurants and food can be ordered in, we went for chicken wings(Bonchon), which came in about 20 mins after we ordered and it was delicious All in all, a decent sports bar to hang out

Not my favorite bar. Service is not very fast. When they have bands play it takes out a whole sitting section which makes the bar then even smaller. Ladies have one toilet. It’s ok for a drink from time to time.

I come here for the Wednesday Trivia Night and I have a blast every time. It’s a pretty decent pub — they have menus from local restaurants that you can order from and they deliver it to the bar which is possibly one of the best things ever. The waitresses are awesome and come around to clean up the bar pretty often. Spacious on a typical day, crowded during Trivia Night. Place is laid back and the prices are decent.

Came here for a coworkers birthday. Decent pub with lots of TV. Beer was cold and atmosphere was decent. They have partnerships with restaurants in the vicinity so you can order food(e.g. sushi/burgers) and have them delivered to the pub.

Decent Irish pub in San Mateo. It might even be the only Irish pub in downtown San Mateo. Came here to watch the World Cup game. It was one of the few bars in downtown San Mateo playing the game. Good beer collection and you can order food from Jeffrey’s next door(they deliver it to your table) or Joy Sushi’s or Dos Amigos. I like the big screens and the ability to see any major(or even minor) sports game. Overall it’s a decent place. Not the best Irish pub I’ve been to, but it’s okay. May come here again to watch a game.

My friend and I went here on 7−5−159:45pm’sh on sunday. Fair amount of persons considering it’s a fourth of July weekend, I spoke to a mutual friend of mine(how’s this bar on sunday for karaōke and he’s said it’s happening). It’s better than I expected. Beer prices: $ 6 for blue moon, $ 7 for guinness(as expected, only beers we ordered for the evening). My friends and I sang a fair amount of songs, we all enjoyed ourselves. Anthony the kj is cool, we were able to sing all our songs.

The drinks were great, no complaints there. It was a little loud and not good to have a conversation. I also wish they had snacks with my beverages. Other customers had gotten to go food from other restaurants and brought it in… I wish they had food and toned down the music.

Decent Irish pub right in San Mateo. There aren’t a lot of bar options in this area so this is certainly one of the better places to go. It’s super casual and laid back and there are a lot of different people that go here. Gets pretty packed on weekends but never have had to wait in line to get in. It’s pretty clean and they do a decent job to allow people space rather than some places where they just pack it in and slam everyone together. The drink prices are fair although most people are drinking beer.

I come here almost every time I travel to San mateo. It’s my clients favorite spot so we always end up here. The service is good and the atmosphere is nice and the people are cool. The prices are a bit high but all things considering it’s a good spot and not TOO expensive.

Pretty decent Irish pup in downtown San Mateo Your typical Irish sports bar. Feels like I was back in college again. Lots of TV screens everywhere playing different kinds of sport games. Attractive waitresses wearing hooters’ style shirts. The beer is cold and served in pretty large cups – in fact the cups are the best I’ve seen anywhere, looks and feels like clear glass but real light and actually might be some kind of plastic material. Everyone drinking beer and chilling out. There is even a weird green dark«confession» room next to the restroom. Talk about Irish catholic guilt :) The folks who go there are equally old dudes or young folks on dates. Feels very much like a community drinking hangout spot. Good place to go if you’re looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of downtown

If you like bars where you can sit down and have a conversation, this is not the place to visit. This place is loud! Including live music from some really tall dude who runs through the crowd and puts his microphone in your face so you can sing as well. If you don’t know the lyrics be prepared to get a look of disdain from the audience that will have you asking yourself, «am I worthy of being here?» This place gets really packed as well as it was standing room only when we got in. I mean people like to get their drink on, but to this point I was pretty surprised. Alcohol is such a powerful thing our society. It’s Irish themed, so if you got a bit of green in your blood, you’ll feel right at home. Overall, a nice little place, but I couldn’t stay that long, as it was just a little bit too loud for my taste.

Decent selection of Irish and English beers on tap. Only microbrew was Lagunitas IPA. Beers were $ 5.50 and come in a nice 20oz glass

This is a great place. There’s always a great crowd and something interesting. The kj Anthony A.K.A Mr sex rocks. Every SUnday he rocks the karaōke. The stage is nice and the people are usually always pretty cool. This is the place too be on a Sunday night for karaōke, that’s fer sure. They get some great singers in here. THe staff is always nice here . THe bouncer is always cool an has a great attitude, the bartenders are always hella nice, and of course great Karaōke.

Regardless of my feelings about the place, it is the only bar around that hosts trivia, so they automatically will get my patronage. Brainstormer trivia hosts a weekly trivia night here on Wednesdays and it is PACKED. Standing room only. If you’re intending to come here just for drinks on a Wed, look someplace else. As for the bar itself, for a ‘pub’ atmosphere I find the drinks to be a tad on the expensive side, particularly if you would like something outside of the draft beer. $ 14 for a moscow mule? Their selection also is rather limited, even for beer. The 2 bartenders are generally overworked on trivia night and can come off kinda brusque as they have to run back and forth finding empty glasses to wash while still trying to keep up with the drink orders. I give them points for actually recognizing me now and knowing that I like my snakebite with the draft cider. I also appreciate that you can order food from 4 – 5 nearby restaurants and they’ll deliver it right to the bar for you! Makes for some great snacking while debating trivia questions over a few beers. The bar has 4 or 5 TVs, a dart board, electronic jukebox and comfy seating. It probably would be a great place to hang out with friends for dinner when you want a bunch of options and some decent drinks. Or if you wanted a chill place to watch a game. All in all a decent bar. I suppose I’ll have to come try it out on a non-trivia day just to see it in a different light, but there are so many other more exciting options in the area, it may be a little while.

This place is conveniently located near a lot of great restaurants in the San Mateo area. I went in the afternoon and sat down with some friends for a drink. The bartender came over, made some suggestions and even brought me some beer to sample. The good: Comfortable environment Authentically Irish Nice staff and management. The bad: Even though it is an Irish pub, I wanted to see more belgian beer. Namely Saint Bernardus Apt. 12, and Delirium Tremens. Hopefully they can add more beer to their selection. No bar snacks(bread, pretzels). Even though the bartenders were nice, they seemed to need to get schooled on beer knowledge. So don’t expect to much help on a beer recommendation, you have to do your own homework. . I would recommend this place for the Irish pub experience and would certainly be back for Saint Patricks day.

Great Irish pub in downtown San Mateo. Craft beers like Lagunatia’s are $ 5 and they make a ton of drinks. Sports games are always showing on the TV’s, they have nightly themes like trivia night(need to check it out), live music, etc. I wish it had a few more fun bar games like pool/foosball. Smoking happens a bit too much right in front too, which is a bummer for those who don’t feel like death.

Good times are had at O’Neill’s. Cant ever visit a bar in downtown without hitting this place up… This place maybe like 5 years ago or so was our first stop on the«O.M.G» tour of downtown SM. O for O’Neills M for McGovs G for Glow(now closed/reopened to Sky Lounge) The pup is a little small but you get your drinks and claim your spot… lots of local people and it gets crazy towards 11 – 12 at night. Cops tend to walk around outside per usual downtown but dont let that divert your thirst for a brew or three! Ill be visiting soon!
