The deep dish pizza was a disappointment. Not good at all. However, the Irish root beer and wings are delish. This is a nice place to grab a bite on a weekday evening. Not too busy, and good outdoor seating. Weekends are very busy and so I would recommend calling ahead.

The picture doesn’t do it justice… my burger was DELICIOUS. Two times in the same week, I had a cheeseburger that was worth every calorie! It was cooked perfect and just plain good. The fries are thin and crispy. The service was great. The Warriors were on(and winning). An overall great experience.

We live about 10 minutes away and are usually super happy with everything here. My husband and I probably come in every other week… Sometimes more ;) That being said, we recently had a rough experience here. Rajnita was our server on Saturday night — technically 5÷22÷16 because we paid after midnight. I understand that everyone can have an off day/night once in a while, but seriously, almost everything was horrible which was super disappointing to my husband and I who had been out of the country for a couple weeks, had literally just gotten off the plane and this was our first meal back in the states. We wanted it to be wonderful as usual, but unfortunately it wasn’t. I will go into detail… We love beer, and of course our favorite, the double IPA was out. Seriously, who runs out of the best beer and can’t or doesn’t change the tap?! We settled with the Jeremiah Red, who’s is still awesome. I’m actually less upset about the beer, but still, part of our experience so I figure it’s worth the mention. After we ordered our beer, we waited forever for our beer to arrive. The Avocado Egg Roll were perfect, and was the only thing that went well that evening… We sat there and stared at our egg roll as we had no plates, silverware or napkins to use and still no beer. I went to the restroom and it was TRASHED!!! As soon as our server arrived with plates and napkins and ready to take our dinner order, I notified her about the restroom. Restroom checks should maybe happen more often… We love the deep dish pizza here, we rarely order something different, but I will mention other good items we like after I get through Saturday the 21st of May’s report. Our pizza was SO not good. It’s NEVER that bad. Half the pizza was missing sauce and cheese. We’ve never experienced this here before :-/ If I was rating the place off of Saturdays experience I would give them 2 stars. If I was rating them off of previous experiences I would have given 4 stars. Average that out and we get to 3 stars. Ok, I’ll get onto the better experiences at BJ’s. Normally the deep dis pizza is awesome and I would highly recommend it. Hopefully they were just having a horribly off night. Hopefully our next pizza here will be evenly sauced and cheesed… The Ahi Salad is good. Good portion size of everything and the tuna is seared perfectly. I hate over cooked(or even slightly cooked) tuna, and so far, that hasn’t happened here. The fries are bomb!!! Delicious skinny fries! You’ve gotta try them, they are like little crack sticks, once you pop, you can’t stop! I’ve had the California Chicken Club — but minus the chicken ;) I LOVEBLT’s and I’m super picky about them… This is delicious here and again, served with those little crack sticks :) My husband has ordered everything from burgers to pulled pork to bacon Mac n Cheese to Spaghetti and Meatballs. He’s loved everything :) I know we sound like super fat kids, but we just choose our comfort food wisely and try to limit it to every other week ;) We still love you BJ’s… We are fans and just want consistency, preferably like the previous great experiences we have had with you.

Service was a little slow here. My human friend ordered the unlimited soup and salad for lunch and it took the waitress 102277261617 minutes to check on us and ask if we wanted more!(Ok just kidding it was more like 25 – 30 minutes but felt like a while esp because it wasn’t busy at this restaurant and we had an limited amount of time on our lunch break!) Extra star for the white chocolate macadamia nut pizookie! #thosenutstho

Talking about poor service !!! Our very polite and no attitude server(I’m being sarcastic) gave us attitude once we sat down, asked for our ID’s with a little smirk !! His name is Mario, I believe this is the management fault for not screening their waiter properly !!

I was inspired to write this review after my son, upon arriving at the restaurant, excitedly told me that it is 5 stars. It is one of his favorite restaurants. As for me, I would give it 4 and 3⁄5 stars if I could. A little less than 5 because occasionally an entrée isn’t quite perfect. Overall, the food is really good, or solid, depending on what you order, the service is great, and they always try to make things right if you aren’t happy. My favorite menu item is the Parmesan crusted chicken, followed by the sriracha Brussels sprouts. Good beer selection too. Really easy place to bring kids, catch a game, have a brew, etc. it’s always been an overall win whenever I’ve come here. Ps. They have tons of TVs showing various sporting events, great for kids and sports lovers alike.

I truly do not understand the operations of this establishment. My first beef with BJs was when they advertise themselves as the nfl zone with all games featured yet cannot accommodate the amount of games on at a time. Today we were again disappointed as it is a beautiful sunny day with the nba playoffs on. They actually have a tv outside and we were very excited. It was empty out. We went inside to get a table and were told they are planning for a large party and only one server and couldn’t accommodate a party of 2 outside. It was empty. I want to like this place but I don’t think so. Strike #2.

Service!!! So much potential here but the service just… sucks. Pros: — interior: spacious, ample seating — plethora of TVs at the bar… perfect for game days — overall, every meal I’ve ordered were made well and sufficiently palatable. Cons: — SERVICE!!! Each and every time I come to BJs, service is sloooow. Slow from beginning to end… from getting a menu to the check. From what I see on the floor, I don’t think it’s a problem with the servers’ performance; I think it’s more to do with servers managing too many tables. For example, we had a server(Angelina) who was also managing half of the bar floor, which was fully occupied. That is a lot of orders to maintain for one person and to execute in a timely manner. Because there were so many tables with small to medium parties, it took her awhile to finally reach us. She was by no means slow or showed incompetency; she was quite fast and running to table to table like she was on fire; bless her heart. If management just added one or two more servers on the floor especially on big game days, perhaps it will help expedite service(happier customers) and increase customer turnaround(higher profits).

I’ve been here enough to know its a solid location. Food and services has been consistent. As far as chains go it’s not bad and if you’re into beer give this place a try. The food menu unfortunately hasn’t changed much in the 4 years I’ve been in the neighborhood. They did introduce a weekend brunch which we tried but were unfortunately not inline with our expectations.

Catching up with friends to celebrate a birthday and have a few drinks and dinner. We had a group of over 10, so taking in our dinner and drink orders was a tall task for our waitress especially on a Friday night. Our waitress was amazing and humorous as well. For starters I ordered a severed ahi tuna salad and Hawaiian flatbread pizza. The portions were quite generous and there was enough food to share with our group. My salad was huge and the dressing was sweet with every bite. The tuna was placed to the side and topped off with a slice of avocado. As for the Hawaiian pizza the portion was overwhelming and sliced in small squares easy for sharing with our group. Had a blast and drank a few. Big downer was the bill, although everything was reasonably priced, I however wasn’t reasonable with my wallet. Had a great time and the waitress was excellent even checking in on us seemingly at the right time all night. Definitely a great go to spot on the other side of the bay.

We ordered curbside service from here since our hotel was just around the coroner. There was no issues with the pickup and service as our order arrived on time. After that everything went downhill, I think the cook was on a condiment strike because our burgers came with no dressings at all and our pizzas came with plenty toppings and no sauce. Did not bother calling back or complaining because it was late and we were hungry. The tomato bisque soup and Caesar salad is the reason for two stars, will not order from this location again the next time we’re in town, total let down.

I was here on a Monday night around 10 pm, at this time I guess I shouldn’t expect great service from a restaurant but it was actually pretty bad… We sat at the bar which I understand the servers get really busy and it’s very fast paced up here but that’s no excuse to be messy and rude… The server we got was this girl kind of tom boyish you could say and I was asking her about a certain drink and she just looked at me like with the«wtf hurry up» look… I described it pretty well and she still had no idea. I was trying to get the berry cider and told her it was a fruity berry drink and she had no idea and looked at me all confused and annoyed. All I ordered was the cheese dip and chips with my berry cider because I wasn’t really all that hungry. And ughhhhhhhh my dip was so cold and gross… I really should’ve returned it but I didn’t feel like making a fuss that night at all but it was just so bad. Like the cheese dip was supposed to be warm and yummy and it absolutely was not… You could tell this was just popped in the microwave. I would never come to BJS for good fresh quality food. I would just come for the drinks, calamari,(super yummy calamari here !! The garlic aioli is the best here!!!) and the pizookies. You can’t go wrong there, trust me.

Nothing here is mind blowing on the food or beverage side, but BJs is a good place to hang out with a big group. We had maybe a party of 25 and there was more than enough room as the restaurant arranged a long table in the back for us. YUMs: (+) Big pizookie is the only thing worth eating. Literally a huge glorified cookie under ice cream. Joy from eating this comes more from having your childhood dreams come true as opposed to actual quality. (+?) they have alcohol and make it pretty quickly OKish: (o) Appetizer plate = a bunch of fried things. (o) Sliders are huge, but super basic (o) basically everything else in the menu Summary: 2 stars if you wanted to eat good food 3 stars if you wanted to eat food w/many good friends

Typical chain fare that consists of good, decent food. But beware, most of the offerings are calorie bombs! The choices are endless, from pizza to sandwiches/burgers to pasta. The«piece de resistance» are their Pizzookies. Think pizza sized baked cookie topped with ice cream. Yum and OMG what a sugar rush! Service is consistent, regardless of which location you go to. And so is their food!

I’ve been to a few BJ’s and(mostly) disliked them. However, I’ve been to the San Mateo BJ’s several times for business meetings and I have to say it’s better-than-average. Great low-cal selections, attentive service and a good environment to conduct business. I’ve enjoyed the turkey burger, pita tacos and chicken pesto sandwich — no fries(thank you) with a tasty side salad. I plan on returning a few more times — keep up the great work. 3.85 stars

I have a weak spot for big chain restaurants like BJ’s… the food is oh so average and the prices are oh so high — but it’s just something about these restaurants that make me keep coming back?! I’ve been to this location countless times since I was a kid — even had one of my birthday dinners here when I was about… 14? 15? Strange times. Anyway — I’ve been back a few times in these recent years for appetizers and drank. Usually not here for a full meal because it’s so $$$. Appetizers are big enough that they can be split — portion and money wise. BJ’s has their own brews which is such a huge plus for a chain restaurant. Although their brews are average, I still enjoy trying what’s available and the occasional seasonal ones. Plenty of guest brews(tap and bottle) which rotate from time to time. Huge ass menus. It’s hard to pick something every time. I usually end up picking the same ol’ thing just to avoid the indecisiveness. I’ve gotten the carnitas fries twice now and I was surprised both times as to how good they were… the fries were extra thing and crispy just how I like. All their pizzas are also usually really good. Burgers are pretty average though they hit the spot when you have a burger craving. Everything else is pretty so-so. Fun to just order new things sometimes to share with a group. Service has been okay — can be really slow at times but waiters are friendly. Food takes forever to come out. May as well call in an order before you arrive… When it’s busy, waiting and food service gets even slower. Thankfully, I don’t really come in during rush hours anymore — I just stick to early afternoons now. Your average chain restaurant. Probably best to go in a big group or on game days if you want optimal fun and don’t care for slow wait times.

One of the better BJ’s I’ve been too. The food honestly here tasted better than other locations. It can get crowded around lunch or when there’s a football game. They have plenty of screens to watch sports on. The service is friendly and quick. The restaurant is clean and so are the bathrooms. They have a decent beer selection and other drinks. Their desserts are great! That hot cookie topped with ice cream is deadly!

A happy Hour that starts at 10pm till midnight? Okay, I’m down! I came here for Happy Hour with a friend close to the late night Happy Hour time and was able to find a booth at the Bar area which is known to be ALWAYS crowded! I know BJ’s is a chain restaurant but I have to admit im not big on the chain restaurants but I decided to give BJ’s a try! They also have their own brews, not bad, right? They have about 8 regulars in their lineup and a few rotating seasonals. Service is quick and friendly. Our server was amazing and always had this amazing smiley face! The atmosphere is pretty modern and commercial but it’s nice After glaring at the Happy Hour menu for a while I wanted to order everything! HA. Everything on the menu looks good from the Deep dish Pizza, Chicken Pot-stickers, chicken wings, Mojito drinks(different flavors)…The list goes on and on… What I ordered: ~Chicken Wings– delicious! The sauce on them was the topping to it, fresh and piping hot!(Rated 5\5) ~BJ’s special Deep Dish Pizza– Comes in 4 small slices, yummy and crunchy(Rated: 5\5) ~Chicken Lettuce Wrap– Although it surprising looked good, I wasn’t that tasty to me… I wouldn’t order this again for myself but I believe the only reason why I was turned off is because the flavor of sauce that they give with the dish.(Rated 1\5) Drinks: I ordered the Lemon Drop and I must admit that I enjoyed it! for the pricing it was decent. I was also able to taste the Strawberry Mojito and found that to be very good as well! I got the chance to glance at BJ’S full menu and have to admit that I am missing out and have more to taste on the menu. This is not Good-bye BJ… It’s, «I’ll see you later»
