The food tasted like nothing… drinks are good though

It was just ok, have only been there once as 4 tacos cost over $ 25 and that is way too high for my budget. Found it very loud, couldn’t even hear my dinner partner that was sitting right beside me. Not sure I will ever go back, I can make tacos cheaper at home that are better.

Favorite place to get tacos by far!!! Their taco of the month never disappoints & the queso is amazing– it has a swirl of the Diablo salsa & a scoop of guac! Lines are usually long & busy but the wait is short and definitely worth it! Have been a fan since before it got to San Marcos!

Been here more than once. You’ll always find me at the bar just bc the line to order sit down is usually long. The margs come out fast. The bartenders are very friendly and will help you out with any mixed beer concoction you have in mind. Just finished enjoying the Taco of the month«Double-Wide» chicken fried steak, pico taco and man that was a damn good taco.

This place has really great tacos. My favorite is the Trailer Park(be sure to order it «trashy»). I also tried the Democrat but I didn’t care for it. Also try the queso sauce! It has avocado and diablo sauce in it, so it is a bit spicy. My only complaint is its hard to get the staff’s attention for more chips with the queso. And with the type of flooring in there, the noise echos and it can get a bit loud. That’s it.

Some of the best fancy tacos around. There is just about always a line but it goes down fast, you can also order ahead of time online for pick up. They have a taco of the month that rotates yearly, but they do come out with new ones. I always say get the taco of the month when you visit, some of them are the bomb especially when they do the some like it hot month. The queso is hands down the best thing on the menu. It has a drizzle of the Diablo sauce on top and a spoon full of guac, it is so good I could just eat it with a spoon. One of the fun things about Torchys is the fun names of the tacos. My favorites are the Independent and the Fried Avocado. The Independent has breaded and fried portabella mushrooms, it is so rich and meaty you would not even realize it is a vegetarian taco. The Fried Avocado, I mean it is fried avocado what is not to like? It is creamy, warm, and satisfying; a truly great combo especially with the queso. Torchys also has a liquor license and they offer margaritas(mango and strawberry) and beer. The seating area has both indoor and outdoor seating. Parking can be difficult, the lot is usually full and you have to do street parking. You can also buy bottles of their sauce and t-shirts.

Torchy’s is great place and their food is reliable. I like most all of there tacos and enjoy the various options. This place is slammed sometimes so when it is just know that patience is a must. The food is hot and delicious and their indoor and outdoor bar is superb. Thanks Torchy’s

If you need your Torchy’s fix and hate crowds or limited parking, you can show up for breakfast tacos. Place was empty this Sunday morning except for the few 30+ year olds on their days off and parents meeting their TSU son’s girlfriend for the first time. We both tried the Ranch Hand(mine w/o Diablo sauce) and the Wrangler. Very filling. Beef fajita in the Ranch Hand had great texture but was a little bland so I understand why they include Diablo sauce standard. Wrangler with its smoky BBQ and tomatillo sauce fairly curled my toes, it was so rich and tasty. Plus I just love potatoes, so it probably wasn’t a fair fight. Good oj. He says good coffee(I don’t know how y’all drink that stuff!!). Definitely good breakfast!

So good & I’m picky about tacos & queso living in the NM Southwest. Huge servings, great beer, & delicious food. Only downside is they are understaffed or they just don’t care about customer service… you decide. I will come back on next trip in town with the notion of knowing the service is poor.

Obviously everyone loves torchys. If you haven’t been, you need to go like yesterday! Super creative menu, I mean who doesn’t want a taco and a margarita?! I love this location. it’s huge and has a great sized patio for those who like being outside in Texas 300 days of the year!

I love torchy’s, but this location is definitely run by a bunch of college kids that don’t care. Customer service is important, and they are sorely lacking.

I really don’t understand the hype about Torchy’s. I’ve tried so many different tacos and none of them impressed me even slightly. Their queso is really good, but that’s about it. Breakfast tacos are okay.

So glad San Marcos has a Torchy’s! Atmosphere is fun and I like being able to sit indoors or out or even at the bar. The cashiers are always fun and helpfu!

Great tacos. This is a place you can get delicious, original tacos. Get a trailer park and make it trashy. It’s a fun atmosphere with a nice open layout. Torchy’s started off in Austin in a food truck but it has grown into a popular chain. Fortunately it has the same great quality

I love DAMNGOODTACOS and Torchys has some of the best tacos around. They are so creative with their tacos it keeps me coming back. This torchys is better than most. It’s huge! The bar is awesome with an inside and outside are to sit at! Parking can be difficult sometimes. I just park on a side street and walk down. Staff is great! Atmosphere is one of the best in San Marcos. Tacos of the month is my favorite to get because it’s always great. Now excuse me while I go grab me some tacos.

I really really really want to like Torchy’s Taco’s. We’ve been three times and the hubs has liked his, but for me, the vegetarian taco’s have been great on flavor, but way too spicy on my stomach. The chips and queso are very good. Always a win my book! Parking sucks at this location(hey, we knew it was a college town when we moved here.) Don’t try to park in the little strip mall across the street they will tow you. Walk or go during off hours if you don’t want to search for creative parking.

I am a Torchys fanatic. No question about it. I’m addicted to the Fried Avocado and their chips and queso. My mouth is watering right now. This Torchys is great. Beautiful really. Full bar that wraps inside and out. They have lots of indoor and outdoor seating. The parking is somewhat of a pain, but it’s worth it. You can find it on the street or if you’re lucky, you can find it in their lot behind the restaurant. It’s a college town, so expect it to be crowded in the evening and on weekends, give yourself some time because there can be a wait. However, the tacos come out hot and perfect and with a smile — worth it every damn time. I’m so happy I go to college in a town with such an amazing taco joint! (Jeremy and Mitchell have always been awesome too.) I will forever be a patron of this place.

I know people have an unhealthy addiction with Torchy’s tacos but my obsession is with their Chips & Queso! It has a little scoop of guac in the middle which makes it sooo delicious. As far as the tacos go, I’m happy they have quite a few gluten-free menu items but I haven’t had anything that blew my mind. So far I’ve tried the Baja Shrimp(beware of over-cooked shrimp,) Mr. Orange, & the Mad Cow. The corn cup is also a yummy side. I come here every now & then but mostly for the Queso lol!

A great addition to the growing family of Torchy’s! I’ve been to most of the original Austin locations. Like any new business or expansion, there can be grand opening kinks to workout. I waited a couple of weeks to try this new spot out because of this. It fits the mold and I get the expected tastes and familiarity without having to drive into the heart of 512. One feature that was new to me is the FULLBAR! I must have missed the few in Austin that have one because apparently this isn’t new to the Torchy’s experience. It’s only two blocks away from the TX State campus. Lucky for me I have a break in between morning and afternoon classes so it’s oh so convenient to stop in for breakfast, lunch or a beer. They went for the sports bar feel at this location and there is more than adequate seating inside and out. I just go during very non-peak hours because I never have trouble with parking or waiting. I’m usually on the premise and eating within 10 minutes. I’m glad this location is closer to my neck o’ the woods!

As expected, Torchy’s Tacos continues to be «damn good» with the new location in San Marcos. I love the layout of the new place, the full bar has a great selection of craft beer, and even the soda machines have a better selection than most of the ones in Austin. I’m very excited about the new addition to this wonderful town.
