This place is amazing. Some of the best fried catfish and hushpuppies I have ever had. My wife and I are fried pickle connoisseurs and their version were the perfect thickness and the batter was the perfect consistency. What a surprise to find it at the outlets. The guys are great and make sure you try the funnel cake!

Good fish tacos, but fried. I wish they offered grilled as well, but enjoyed them nonetheless. My son really enjoyed the chicken nuggets and fries. Hush puppies come with every entrée, and were excellent! Service was good, and it is so nice to have food trucks at the outlet malls.

Sampled the fish tacos. Nice little spice kick to them and the size was OK for the price. Solid. Also, really nice peeps! FYI — EVERYTHING on this truck is fried, so maybe not your place if you’re looking for a grilled or other option. The truck is located in the Tanger Outlet mall parking lot next to Tommy Hilfiger. So, if you’re put shopping this is certainly a step up from the standard food court fare. Give it a try! Good, but the food truck close to home(hi, MJ) has much better tacos. Sorry, but it’s true.

Met a friend at The Hitch food truck lot for lunch. She went to the pita truck and I decided to get a shrimp plate at the Caboose. There was just one person working there so the food took a little long to get. The price was reasonable however, the shrimp and hushpuppies were prefab from HEB or Sam’s. Not very good, IMO.

I recently stopped by The Hitch Food Trailer Park, and tried The Caboose for some seafood. They had a Po-boy sandwich on special, the problem was all the choices. At the urging of the owner, I tried half crawfish and half oyster. The sandwich came with fries, which were very good. The sandwich was great, the seafood was topped with a fantastic spicy ranch dressing. I’ll be back soon to try something else off the menu. Another great thing is The Hitch is BYOB, and has started having live music shows on Friday night.

So a friend was telling me about the hitch, San Marcos’s new trailer eatery. Awesome! We stopped in and only a few were open. Dangit, but the caboose was. They specialize in seafood, but it was a little toasty outside to be gobbling down some fried calamari. I picked the chicken strips with a side of sweet potato fries. Both were super yummy and really inexpensive. I also had a teaser of their lobster bisque. It was good, and I’ll def be back to try some of their seafood, maybe on a day that I’m not soaking up some rays.
