Gumby’s Pizza & Wings

This place is the bees knees. I will ALWAYS order from them before I order from any of the other name brand pizza stores. They are the most helpful people who have ever answered a pizza phone call. I ask them «what would I order for a bros night by myself «and they helped me out !!! Super friendly. Thumbs up gumbys

First try here at my smartest co-worker’s local favorite. It was the hilarious graphic for the Thursday special that sold me, and $ 10.99 is good for a massive cheese pizza.
Had to wait when I arrived despite the graphic telling me my online order was ready for pickup. Boo. Fortunately the energy was lively when I walked in and the wait wasn’t too long. Plain cheese doesn’t knock anyone’s socks off, but this test run will bring me back to try one of the more creative options.

I so want to give Gumby’s a better rating. I do, but my latest experience really takes away from their awesome pizza. My family and I just moved to San Marcos. I lived here before and was loyal toa D’Blazios, but since they sadly closed, my husband discovered Gumby’s.
Gumby’s became our go-​to place to order from when we didn’t want to cook or had friends over. It’s only been a handful of times, but the pizza has been awesome (my husband’s favorite is the Randy Marsh), and the delivery service is fast. The staff have always been friendly as well.
Tonight, my cousin, who is visiting from Hawaii, was craving pizza. I talked up Gumby’s like nobody’s business. We received a coupon for a free specialty medium pizza from Gumby’s, so we decided to get that and another specialty large pizza. We settled on a Large Randy Marsh and a medium heart attack. The coupon we received didn’t have a code on it, so we couldn’t order on line. No biggie. We called Gumby’s to place our order and the chick that answered, although nice, repeatedly told us we were wrong and the coupon was for a large cheese pizza. She wouldn’t even place the order so we could pick up the pizza or have it delivered and show them the coupon. We repeatedly said «it clearly states ‘free SPECIALTY MEDIUM’ and has a picture of a specialty pizza on it. No go, she wouldn’t honor it, so my cousin had to drive to Gumby’s to present the coupon. Meanwhile, we have a hungry toddler and we are starting to get really hungry. When my cousin presented the coupon at Gumby’s, they ended up honoring it, but gave us a large cheese pizza instead of the medium Randy Marsh, so he had to go back in and again, remind them that we wanted to use our coupon for a free medium Randy Marsh for a medium Randy Marsh, not a large cheese pizza, so he had to wait longer for the pizza. In the end, we got all three for the price of one, which is cool, but it was a lot of trouble and took a bit longer than what was necessary, it also kind of gave a poor impression of the place for my cousin since it was such a hassle.

Ok, first of all… this is drunk food/​stoner paradise. The combinations are crazy/insane…but yummy/​delicious, too!
We were basically in pajamas, but didn’t want delivery pizza so we hightailed it here to try out their pies (we’re on a pizza tour of San Marcos!). It was the middle of the afternoon and the place was pretty dead, but as soon as we walked in, we were greeted, and when we told the guy taking our order that we’d never been there before, he showed genuine excitement at getting to explain their process and help us figure out what to order. I loved that. You could tell he took pride in his job and the food preparation.
Anyway…we settled on a half Randy Marsh (it has mac n cheese on it!) and half Blockhead (lots of meats!), an order of wings, and a couple of sodas.
The pizza was so good… such strange combos going on here, but they’re not over done as far as the toppings go. I was a little afraid we wouldn’t even be able to pick it up to eat it, but it was perfectly executed.
The wings I could have skipped. These are softer/​not fried wings… lots of… well, fat… and kind of slimey… and not because of the sauce. They just weren’t my favorite, but I’ll definitely be back for the service and the pizza!

Please adjust your website to include your delivery areas BEFORE an order can be put through and charged for. This is ridiculous and horrible customer service. You have no problem charging people for food you cannot deliver to. FIX IT. Further, communicate with your employees that a would-​be customer has already been called so that you don’t call and anger that person again. I will not be patronizing your store anymore.

It’s fine if you go in, the speciality pizzas appeal to the drunk/​stoner college kid crowd but really aren’t worth the $ unless it’s someone else’s $. The standard pizzas are good. Calling in is horrible, as the staff tends to put you on hold, or will argue with you. I know my name, address and what I want to order. Don’t second or third guess me, there’s plenty of pizza places in town, I won’t deal with careless and stupid staffers.

I was on vacation visiting a friend and went to Gumby’s for my last meal in San Marcos everyone I asked told me to hit this place up. So we went and ordered a small pizza I told them to do half a Randy Marsh which was a Macaroni pizza with bacon and half Blockhead which had a ton of different meats!(my favorite) I shied away from getting the stoner pie which was everyones recommendation but it honestly didn’t sound too appealing to me. I also got an order of their wings, half lemon pepper and half hot both were delicious. I would probably come back mostly for the wings. Service was good and the workers were pretty helpful on deciding what to get.

Tried the stoner pizza and it was okay but I was expecting more. The pizza rolls were pretty good too but I’ve had better, Double Daves beats them for sure. Gumbys is just overpriced mediocre pizza.

The stoner pie pizza is worth a try also their Thursday night massive pizza special is a good deal, but I wouldn’t call this the best in town.

Hate their pizza. Basically Cardboard with tomato sauce. At least now I know where not to go. Thanks!

I ordered a pizza for delivery the other day and it was lukewarm at best upon arrival. I usually like Gumby’s, but I guess it’s only good when you walk in.
If you want a hot pizza delivered, you’re better off going with Domino’s or Papa John’s.

We tried Gumby pizza on a whim one night as it was late and it was open, so why not. We were previously told it was typical «college kid» pizza so our expectations were kind of low, but it was actually pretty good. The crust was good and was cooked well (not burnt or undercooked). We agreed we would definitely go back.

The calzones are never cooked all the way through, The pizza ’ s are over priced. After one delivery with our Calzones not cooked all the way we called and we’re told to put in our oven… really?
This is what we pay for, delivery fee, tip, and undercooked food.

I haven’t had Gumby’s — specifically their Pokey Stix — since college… just a few years ago. When I saw that San Marcos had a Gumby’s, I knew I had to go.
We got the barbecue chicken pizza, Pokey Stix, and pepperoni rolls. On Mondays, you get a free medium Pokey Stix with a pizza. I ordered online and was charged for the Pokey Stix. When I brought it to the manager’s attention, Katie was awesome in helping me get my money back. Not only that, she added in extra ranch. Who doesn’t love extra ranch?!
The pizza was great and had just the right amount of barbecue sauce on it. The cheesy, gooey goodness was as good as I remember.

3.8 STARS! I find the pizza to be great out of the box but flat and dry on the buffet. The pepperoni rolls are where it’s at but if they were smart they would offer them stuffed in Italian sausage, Canadian bacon and Cheese stuffed options. They should also consider playing around with a sweet cream cheese stuffing topped with cinnamon goodness. This truly could be their next big idea! Enough about something that will probably never happen…
The salad bar it a top three in San Marcos so do come here for all your veggies!!! Enjoy!

I’m vegan and enjoy that their pizza crust is vegan friendly, so I always load my pizza up with all the veggies they offer. Can’t go wrong with anything you choose here. Thanks for always making me a great order!

From the second we walked in, we didn’t get a great impression. Unilocal said to mention this app and get a free pair of sunglasses. The cashier looked at me like i was crazy and said she would check into it (when she clearly wasn’t going to). Then when we placed our order for our pizza (a 12″ pizza with mushrooms, tomato, meatballs and Canadian bacon), she blankly stared at us and ASKED, «Are you going to order a pizza? ». Ummmm… are you high?
Anyway, the pizza was ok. The wings were ok. This is why they get 3 stars. Otherwise, the service would get them only 1 star.

Always a favorite in my household! We usually order delivery or pick up and it always is ready is a reasonable amount of time and the pizza is always hot.
We are a fan of the Thursday deal, which is the largest pizza with one topping for only $ 10!!! There’s also a buy one get on deal, I think on Wednesdays. The deals make it more affordable and give you the chance to try their other food items like pepperoni rolls and wings.
Favorite pizza is the Galore, I love all the veggies and you can tell they are fresh. And I like to add pepperoni and French fries to make it perfect! I also enjoy the Stoner Pie every now and then with the French fries and mozzarella sticks on top!
Great for a movie night in, or late night pizza run after a night at the square.

Oh Gumby’s! It’s been a love affair from the beginning. You have to know what Gumby’s is if you live in the San Marcos area.
The pizza is literally made with love. I don’t know what it is but there is something about the way it tastes. From the crust, to their marinara sauce, to the toppings; EVERYTHING TOGETHER MAKES AWESOMENESS! But really Gumby’s pizza always tastes fresh.
One of the most popular pizza’s at Gumby’s is their Stoner pizza. I just recently tried it for the first time and I seriously don’t know what took me so long. This is my fourth year at Texas State and I am so disappointed in myself because I’ve been seriously missing out. The Stoner pizza is a pepperoni pizza with cut up mozzarella sticks, and french fries on top. IT IS LIFE!
Gumby’s is a gem that I will miss when I graduate. I can’t really see life without it yet so let’s just hope one opens up down the street wherever I live next!

After floating the river all day… we stopped in here for a Stoner Pie & Chicken Wings! I was like Damn! This is some Damn Good pizza… I mean, how can you go wrong with having French fries, mozzarella sticks, pepperoni, & bacon on a pizza along with Everything else!?!
Chicken wings were lemon pepper flavor and AWESOME!
