This place is wonderful. Patrick, the gentleman running the place is helpful and friendly. The selection is great and he was willing to take the time and make sure that I got the frames I wanted. I’ve never had an easier time getting glasses.

This place is amazing! I was so happy with the selection of vintage, cool and quirky frames. They were so helpful in every respect. I can’t wait to get my new glasses! Blue Moon is by far the best place around to shop for glasses.

I used to think wearing glasses would be cool, until I actually had to wear them. Now I think it rates right up there with shaving. Nevertheless, I’m always on the lookout for a cute pair of glasses. And Blue Moon has many.
Patrick, the owner and optician, has a huge selection of true vintage frames, and a lot of modern ones as well. He says he only stocks glasses he believes are of good quality, so it’s a different selection than you’d find at an optical big box store.
Patrick has been super patient and helpful, and has mad optical skills. I learned a lot about what to look for in a pair of glasses and lenses, and ended up trying out something new for my new glasses.
He often gets special pricing on his frame purchases, and passes on the savings to his customers. There’s a Unilocal discount if you don’t have insurance, but even without that, you’ll most likely save over what you’d pay for a generic pair of specs at the big box retailer.
If you live or work in San Marcos, there’s no reason to get your glasses anywhere else. And even if you don’t, it might be worth the drive.

This place is above and beyond GREAT. If your local or not, you can get hooked up with some sweet/​awesome/​outstanding glasses in an atmosphere that feels like home! There is no pressure and you feel like Patrick has known you forever! Not only does he know what he is doing but he also knows how to treat the customer like a HUMAN, not another dollar bill sign walking thru the door. He greets you even when he is busy, just very welcoming and makes you more relaxed/​comfortable to get a feel for the glasses your looking for. Before I knew it I forgot I was at a business and not at home getting eye care delivered!!! You CANNOT beat the SERVICE or the PRICES from here. If you’re looking for a place to get new glasses at a great price, you found it here. Not only does Blue Moon Optical have amazing customer service, they are locally owned and operated! Patrick has helped me multiple times to get new glasses and has always gotten them to me extremely fast. Being a college student here in town I would always drive back home to get a new pair of glasses, but now that I have found Blue Moon I will never make that mistake again. Highly recommended and I encourage you to go check the place out yourself. Fantastic establishment!

The play area for the kids is wonderful. The frame selection is awesome including vintage frames. You can tell he really cares and knows what he’s doing, too.

My husband and I were clients of the previous optician at this location. When my husband went by this week to get a nosepad replaced on his glasses, they did it free and on the spot. They even sent home two more universal replacement nosepads for my glasses!

Awesome service in a clean, we’ll lit showroom. Great selection and professional attitude toward taking care care of the customer. Hands down the best one on one service I have experienced in a great long while. Kudos to Blue Moon and Patrick the owner. Keep it up.

I recently took in a pair of glasses that had been used and abused. I’m not super careful with my glasses and these had been banged around and soaked in saltwater. Patrick polished the frames so where they look almost new and put in some new lenses for a very reasonable price. Blue Moon has a much better selection of cool glasses than anyone else in SM. The other 3 have all the main-​stream boring frames but Blue Moon has vintage and edgy modern. Great place.

This a great local business to support and get glasses and contacts from. Patrick gives great customer service and has a great selection of glasses including the latest styles. And if you are looking for something unique that you are not going to find anywhere else this is your place. My husband and I where on a tight budget and Patrick helped us find the perfect pair of glasses for each of us and kept us under our budget. Mine retro, his modern. Great range of inexpensive to high end designer glasses. I will be going back when I’m ready to order my contacts!

Patrick is awesome! Great customer service! Always has in the latest styles of glasses, I personally always find myself trying on styles I wouldn’t typically wear but he knows what looks good! Very professional and nice to everyone who walks into his store. Very prompt when it comes to letting his customer know when their prescription is ready. Oh and has Ray Ban sunglasses! Haven’t found a place on the square that carries them.
