I did a phone order a few days ago to have flowers delivered to my mother at her work and was so pleased with the entire experience. The woman on the phone was knowledgable, friendly, and professional. Phone orders are a minimum of $ 30 w/​a $ 3 delivery fee. Fantastic price if you ask me and the flowers looked like $ 33+ worth! I had told open air that this piece would be for my mothers desk so they had a bouquet arranged to the perfect size for a desk. I had also asked for nothing too fragrant. I called around 10:30am on a Thursday and the flowers were delivered by 11:15am. I am just so happy with everything and my mother & her coworkers are happily enjoying the flowers. Thank you open air!!!

I was going to a courthouse wedding on Christmas Eve and every flower shop was closed. When I got to Open Air flowers, they were eager to help me pick out the perfect bouquet, and could hardly contain their excitement when I told them it was for a wedding! I loved the personable feeling and I would recommend them to anyone.

Flowers! Who doesn’t love a pretty posie and a scented rosie??? This spot always has pretty fresh arrangements and the lady working is always really helpful and nice.
It is a small hole In the wall place down the alley across from the elevator. They don’t have a large selection of flowers but quality versus quantity supersedes :)

Flowers, prices and staff are great. This open air shop has been my life saver for many occasions or just to brighten someone’s day with a sunflower. So glad you are in downtown slo!

I order floral arrangements from Open Air between 2 — 3 times a month. Leslie is easy to work with and very flexible with all of my requests. They consistently do a beautiful job. The arrangements last for over a week allowing me to save money by reusing them for multiple events. Delivery is always on time and with a smile. I would highly recommend Open Air!

horrible will never go back… we ordered a bridal bouquet and when we picked it up it was horrible. mostly buds and diseased flowers… and they where extremely rude… I then took it to the flower shop on Pismo and chorro called Wilder flowers, they fixed it and added more flowers… I would recommend them instead…

The plan was to ask a lady for her hand in marriage. It would be during dinner at Novo Restaurant in San Luis Obispo (outstanding g, by the way). But I needed flowers. I am from out of town, so a quick search with Google and a look at Unilocal reviews — there is Open Air Flowers just a couple of blocks away. I call the morning of the event and told Leslie I needed something elegant and compact that involved roses. No further instructions — left it up to her. The bouquet also needed to travel toy car the next day — please deliver to Novo before our dinner reservation. When we got to the table, there was an absolutely perfect bouquet sitting on the table. I couldn’t have anticipated the beautiful arrangement she executed. The bouquet still looks great a week later. Yes, she said yes. Get your flowers here.

WOW! I though that I was going to save some money and make my flower bouquets myself for me and my bridal party. I am from out of the area and I quickly realized I didn’t have time or the energy for that. I had a very small budget that I really wanted to stick to.
I called Leslie on Wednesday while I was driving up to Paso for my wedding on Friday. I told her my budget and asked if she could make it happen. She said that it would be tough and that I would have to trust her. I gave her my colors of white, gray and sage green.
I honestly didn’t know what to expect and so I set my expectations fairly low…
The bouquets were absolutely incredibly beautiful. She was so flexible, kind and helpful.
Really made my wedding day! I recommend them to everyone, it was incredibly affordable!

We’ve been buying flowers from Open Air on a weekly basis for about 5 years. They are by far the best in town and Leslie, the owner is just a gem to work with. I implicitly trust them to the point that they have my credit card on file so it’s easy to order for my wife and clients for my business. How much you «like» the flowers can be subjective and one thing I appreciate is Leslie took the time to understand my wife’s taste and has accommodated very well. More importantly, recently and for the first time we did not care for the arrangement and after letting Leslie know, she replaced it, picked up the old flowers from my house and didn’t charge me anything. Standing behind your work in a grey area situation is a sign of any business committed to making their clients happy. Parking can be difficult if you’re want to go DT to just get flowers, so having them delivered is usually best. Also, carrying flowers in the car is a hassle too. Another thing we do with Open Air is, we drop off 4 – 5 of OUR vases at a time so they can deliver the flowers to us in OUR vase– how cool is that!

Woman working was incredibly rude! Took flowers from my hand literally while I was browsing said she wanted them in water until I decided. A whole 3 min. as I was trying to add to the flowers in hand. Took my $ 100 down the street to Alberts Florist! Beautiful fresh and kind service!

Have bought flowers here in the past few months and have had the bouquets die within two days. Do not waste your money here. Would be worth the money If they lasted longer. I would highly recommend looking at other floral shops before going to this one.

Leslie helped me pick flowers over the phone and had them delivered to my wife within an hour of my call. Fantastic service and the flowers were great (according to my wife) !!

This is my favorite flower shop in town. Their bouquets are so unique and tasteful. Prices are reasonable too.

I’ve always passed this place on my way downtown, but I never really stopped by to take a look.
Until today. My friend is graduating, and I wanted to give her a little something for our going-​away/​congrats lunch today in addition to a grad gift I have prepped for her.
The gal there showed me the variety of arrangements they had on display (there were many!), but none of them had what I was looking for. She then suggested that I make a bouquet of my own. I selected Freesia, Snapdragon, Bells of Ireland, this beautiful tight purple cluster of flowers, and a couple filler stems.
The gal arranged them for me, wrapped it up in plastic and adorned it with a purple ribbon bow. The entire time, she was patient and seemed happy to help me out. Thanks for the great customer service!

My husband is incredible and sends flowers at just the right time, and frequently :) Leslie and her crew always deliver – regardless of the silly reason he decides to send flowers, they sweetly write out the cards and then create a beautiful arrangement. Open Air truly outdid themselves this Valentine’s Day. The cute delivery driver knocked on the door, and handed me a lovely arrangement. He smiled as he said «There’s more” – four bouquets later I was surrounded by the flowers Open Air selected! Lovely white roses, beautiful greenery, and hints of pink and purple (no fall colors, they know I hate those). The vases of flowers lasted over two weeks. I’m a loyal fan!

I paid ~$ 36 for birthday flowers and the arrangement that was nice/​okay, but it left something to be desired for the price; I was a bit disappointed. I hate to say it, but I probably could have received better from Albertsons for $ 12. Also, they only offer vase arrangements.
The girl on the phone was kind of short and seemed frustrated with inquiries for arrangements that aren’t in vases. Her response was basically «We don’t do any of those other kinds of arrangements» and was said in a manner as if she looks down upon other configurations as if her approach is in someway, more virtuous. I don’t know… it was just a bit strange.
I think they used to be under different ownership way back in the day. Maybe that’s why I went back to them, but after my recent experience, I think I’ll go elsewhere.

On the phone, they seem like a very wonderful place to go. They had the BEST price for a lei for my sisters graduation but failed me on their bouquets.
My grandma had a very specific in mind and they had to redo the first bouquet to our order since they didn’t follow what we wanted. Their prices are also ridiculous for a bouquet! We paid 65 and the first time it was about 8 flowers and then after they redid it, they charged us again! They came out perfect but too much hassle to get a bouquet.
