My friend had always ordered Mr. Pickles so I decided I should try it out as well. The sand which I got was… interesting. Not something I would eat again, but they have a variety of sandwiches to choose from. You get what you pay for, A LOT of food. Their potato salad is bomb! I’ll definitely order again. It did take a while for delivery but I understand the delay during peak hours.

What a fun place to get a sandwich! We stopped by while on our way through SLO to LA from SF. WTG Pickles! We all ordered sandwiches on their Dutch Crunch bread and it was fabulous. Loved the free cookie(with every sandwich). Had to get a pickle too, and one of the best we ever ate. But the best part was the good humor and high energy of the staff. Rather than have one person make all three of our sandwiches, there were three people making them so we got out much faster.

Amazingggggg! First timer, felt like getting a cold sandwich so I got the Italian with everything and it was pretty damn good. My boyfriend got the Mr Pickle, a hot sand which which was also really good. Definitely go with the Dutch Crunch bread it is delicious. Free cookie with every sandwich is also amazing. Fell in love with this spot

I continue to be impressed by this smaller sub/deli type sandwich chain. Quality ingredients, fair price, fast and friendly staff. Yes FAST and FRIENDLY. Best if all you you get to choose from a large selection of bread choice including gluten free and low carb options. Lot of sandwich choices, and in the end you get a great large sandwich, just the way you want it for $ 8 to $ 10. Full of meat, no skimping, if you get avocado they are not stingy with it and it is fresh(not previously frozen pseudo guacamole). For the record I am no fan of the«$ 5 foot long» chain, never have been. This place is a approaching a little more like what the original Togos was like in the Bay Area before they expanded like crazy. But in general try to avoid chains to support smaller business. Had not been for a friend, I never would have stopped here on my own, but was nicely surprised what I found. Quality seems to be very steady over time, and lots of choices. Don’t be scared by a line like at some places in town, you’ll still get a sandwich made fresh and speedy, and full of good ingredients. Great choice among many good to great sandwich shops in SLO, but also nice to know if find them on Unilocal while traveling sure to be a great option. Love the ‘Mustang’ — turkey, bacon, avocado, with a the fixins, I add Swiss to it sometimes.

We were on our way to LA from the bay and started to get hungry on a boring drive through a bunch of agricultural areas. We quickly looked at Unilocal to see what was around the SLO area and figured sandwiches would be relatively quick and foolproof, and this place had good reviews. We both got the Mr. Pickle and it was really good. I got these chips I think they were called Funky Fusion or something? They were really good too. Also they give you a free cookie with each sandwich purchase. Like another reviewer I thought it was odd I didn’t get a slice of pickle on the side of my sandwich, however, in the Mr. Pickle sandwich there are a lot of pickles anyways! They had dutch crunch bread which was honestly a deciding factor in choosing this place. The people were super friendly who worked here, but not in an overbearing fake way. In a real way that was nice and relaxing.

We get Mr. Pickles for lunch at work pretty often. Lately I’ve been ordering a turkey wrap, but I’m so underwhelmed with that. It’s wrapped in a raw flour tortilla and that’s meh. I usually just eat half of it because I’m starving and then just eat a bag of chips. Nooo! I did it again today. I like the mini sandwiches we get on the trays-ham and veggie are good. This is for Luke with the torn up mouth from the bread: eat the Dutch crunch or hard roll upside down. It hurts a lot less! :-) Here is my question: Your name is Mr. PICKLES. WHYDON’T I GET A PICKLEWITHMYSANDWICH??? Am I weird for thinking that’s a thing? Please keep your free cookie and give me ¼ of a pickle! Since we keep on ordering at work I have to keep trying to find something I like to order here.

Very yummy and fresh. I feel like the employees do more talking with each other than work. This is much better than subway, in my opinion.

It’s been reviewed sufficiently, so I’ll just add that the bread is great and the innards – meats, etc. – are fresh and delicious. Not cheap but this ain’t Subway and you won’t regret your visit because if you love a quality sandwich, you’re in good hands here.

Tom turkey, no tomato, add cranberry on Dutch crunch = friggin great. Staff is very nice. Eric helped sign me up for ‘pickles points’ at the register! Set up is a tad awkward especially when busy which is often. Ordering for pick up is convenient. easily the best restaurant that’s been at that corner location(Santa Rosa /olive) for a long time. Pretty hibiscus trees outside. Bring the dancing pickle back!

I came in for my first time last month(I now can not imagine my life without Mr. Pickles!) When I came Catitlin was so attentive and explained the process and to top off my experience Josh was at the register and gave me an extra cookie and also went in the back to see if they had anymore BBQ lays chips!!! That is definitely going above and beyond and little things such as these are things customers will never forget for they mean alot! Due to being in the customer service business, I asked to talk to the owner, Eric, to tell him both Caitilin and Josh are both great assets to the company. Eric as well was so incredibly kind and I will forever support this local business! If you don’t have Mr. Pickles in your life, your the one missing out!

Dutch crunch… I cannot get you out of my head! Please come back to me baby! DUTCHCRUNCH I NEEDYOU! If you can’t tell I have dutch crunch brain from eating a Mr. Pickle’s veggie sandwhich on a dutch crunch roll. Having spent about a year making sandwiches while I was in college I can spot a good sandwich maker and let me tell you, the dude that helped us and all the staff working there were top notch. They were attentive and thoughtful in their stacking of the ingredients so as to make for solid bites with out loading up too much ingredients. But, truly the star of the show was the bread, the beautiful wonderous dutch crunch rolls. I need more of those in my life. I will definitely be stopping by Mr. Pickle’s anytime I’m driving through SLO.

I love Mr. Pickle’s. I’ve been a fan of their quality of sandwiches for a very long time now. I recently came to this location last weekend with my boyfriend. He had a custom sandwich and I opted for $ 18 The Pickle. It was chicken breast avocado, cheese and the works. To be fair, if a sandwich has avocado on it and you don’t have to pay extra I’m immediately sold. Luckily that was the case here. Now, if you’re not into getting everything on your sandwich(aka«the works») I understand. It’s not everyone’s style. You must though, YOUMUST try their garlic sauce. That ties up every sandwich so perfectly. Such a light, flavorful addition to any sandwich. The prices here are steep. You’ll find yourself paying at least $ 10 per sandwich, but in my opinion it’s worth it. You cannot beat the quality of their dutch crunch roll or the quality of their meats, cheese and vegetables. It’s pretty top notch. What you will be confused by is their all over customer service. I was puzzled by it. When we walked in two people were behind the counter already making sandwiches. No one was at the cashier. I ordered first and then my boyfriend. The male employee made my sandwich and the female employee made my boyfriend’s. Now you’re probably thinking, this is standard sandwich artistry where’s the problem? Well, they had another male employee working the cashier who called us over while my boyfriend was mid-ordering his sandwich to pay for both. When he got done ordering we went over to pay the total, but then the cashier had disappeared to talk to another fellow employee and the people making our sandwiches were still talking to us and it was just… very clusterf**k feeling if you catch my drift. They have yet to finesse that area. The interior of the establishment was fairly neat. There was a TV inside but not a lot of seating. It was very limited and I have to say the inside did not feel very welcoming. I would definitely come back to this location, but probably never eat inside.

Imagine your typical sub, see yourself holding it in your hands, now double the meat, and then double it again, and then add some mix of thousand island and chipotle mayo sauce inside, that’s what you would find here. They definitely don’t skimp on the meat here as the subs are humongous(can easily share one among two people if you guys aren’t too hungry). As a gym rat, this place is amazing for a local as you can get a healthy dose of protein in just one sandwich. In terms of value, this place is a solid 5 stars. I got the roast beef sub(called something burger, but of course it’s not actually a burger). The dutch crunch bread was quite good. However, my major complaint is that the sandwich itself was pretty plain in taste which is the reason for the average 3 stars. I wish there was more sauce or pickles or something to give the sandwich something to remember it by.

Bias warning: I use to work here for a year and a half, so my review will obviously be biased, but I believe it’s worth reading since it’s from a worker’s perspective! I worked here for a year and a half(and still cover shifts on occasion) and only quit because I had too many professional and educational obligations. The management trains the employees with a HUGE focus on customer satisfaction. It is here where I have learned the art of customer service and also where I have come to find a family in SLO. The owners are flexible and understanding of hectic student schedules and they always try their very hardest to make sure that customers leave happy. The reason why I finally decided to leave a review was because of what they did for me today. From here on in my review I will just refer to them as family, because that’s what they are to me. Today I was stuck on campus cramming for a huge midterm that I had. I’ve been so busy studying that I haven’t had time to even go grocery shopping so I had absolutely no food when I left for campus this morning. I called in to the shop to order a sandwich to be delivered and they not only made the sandwich and had it delivered to me ASAP(thanks Loren), but they left me a note to cheer me on and remind me that they love me(thanks Caitlin), spoiled me with 2 cookies, and sprung a pen in the bag so I wouldn’t go into my midterm unprepared(I have no idea who that was, but you all made my day so special). I understand that I have a bias with the employees, but that is going above and beyond to help me out and cheer me up. As a customer it was heart warming and really did help me feel less stressed before my test. If not for the food, go for the customer service… they really can make your day.

We love Mr. Pickles! Staff is friendly, quick. Our fav is the Italian with everything, on sourdough with extra Salami. However, the pastrami on rye, chicken is fab. Try it out. It’s tasty!

Great sandwich shop with a one size fits all mentality. Plenty of tasty options. My personal favorite is ‘The Fast Eddy’ on Dutch Crunch. Very simple roast beef with Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ, but the bread gives it a different taste. Dutch crunch is basically a roll that has been baked with a very light and sweet topping on top, resulting in a crunchy and sweet later on top of the bread when you bite into it. Careful though, I always seem to tear the roof of my mouth with it. Like I previously mentioned there is no variety in sandwich size here, the size of the roll is the size your sandwich will be. Despite this I do wish there was one of these establishments in the Los Angeles area. Bonus you do get a chocolate chip cookie for every sandwich your order, often times my wife and I will split a sandwich and the employees are nice enough to still give us two cookies despite only ordering one sandwich.

Great food & great customer service. We stopped in for dinner about 45 min before closing time. Staff was great. They were very knowledgeable about the menu & even made a grilled(baked) cheese sandwich for my son who was being particularly picky. My wife got the turkey Tom on Dutch crunch & raved about how good it was. I got the Italian on sourdough. Very tasty. We all got cookies to complete the meal. Again, this was a local shop that I wish we had in Vegas. There are places in Vegas that have great customer service, but SLO has really brought it during our time here. Ever business I have gone into has had great customer service. Happy people who are happy to help you. Maybe it’s the college kids who are still optimistic about life! Maybe it’s my vacation euphoria… Either way, SLO and Mr. Pickle in particular have been a great choice!

Heard good things about Mr. Pickles and naturally I decided to see if they were true. Much to my pleasure, they were. It’s a sandwich place located in between downtown and Cal Poly(the local university), a decent walk, or a short bicycle ride away. A dine-in place if it’s not packed or else you’ll have to take it to-go. Order at the counter and they call your name when it’s finished. Service was superb. Don’t forget to tip. Good selection of specialty sandwiches or you can make your own. Everything is under $ 10. Take it as is or with the works, which includes avocado and pepperoncinis, etc. I ordered a Tuna Tuna – a tuna sandwich – with the works, which was under $ 8 and it was pretty dope. Every sandwich order gets a free chocolate chip cookie, which is also dope. Pro-tip: don’t get the Tuna Tuna on sourdough because everything spills out when you take a bite. BOOM.

Usually I am completely happy with this location but the past few times I’ve gone, it hasn’t been as great. There is no point in online ordering if they haven’t even started it when you go in to pick it up… Yes — that happened. Just annoying, especially when you have a cranky and tired baby in the car after a long day of traveling. They offered me a drink while I waited but really I just wanted my sandwiches made on time. Also, we went back there recently and they forgot to give us cookies. THEYFORGOTTOGIVEUSCOOKIES!!! Major sad face.

I’ve been here twice now. The first time the dutch crunch roll cut up and destroyed the top of my mouth. The second time I got a softer bread, a french roll, it cut up and destroyed the top of my mouth. Maybe I’m just a wuss, who can’t eat crunchy bread. Fine. But I know there are others like me out there who don’t eat Captain Crunch because it cuts up their mouths. If you’re that kind of person, be warned. Haha. No but seriously, the sandwich, the toppings, the meats, cheeses, all are really good. I just have not found a bread yet that they serve on that doesn’t hurt me. I don’t order sliced bread at sandwich shops because that’s what I buy at the store and use to make my own sammies at home, why would I order the same bread I use at home, when I’m out?! So that’s out. Why can’t they have amazing soft bread like Kona’s??? So until someone who feels my pain(literally) tells me of the special magical soft bread roll at Mr. Pickles, I will stick with my best of all time, no need to go anywhere else… ever, spot, Kona’s. It is worth noting that the college aged staff are all SUPER nice, and the quality and care with which they work are top notch.
