The sushi here is pretty solid! I really like their albacore, spicy tuna, and California rolls. Would come back! :)

Best sushi in SLO! Price is similar to other sushi restaurants but their quality and the flavor out compete all. If your not into the college crowd don’t go Friday or Saturday nights. Can be loud and hard to get service. Their baked lobster roll is one of our favorites.

Their haemul sundubu jigae is delicious.(Tofu seafood stew soup thing). It was seafood-flavorful broth, had plenty of seafood, and had soft tofu. The broth is probably the defining point, some restaurants can’t make a good broth. I frequently eat in K-Town and I will note that the Korean food here is pretty freaking good for a Japanese restaurant. Maybe the sushi chefs are Korean?

Good service and the quality of fish was great. Also, they have the best Korean food in SLO.

My girlfriend and I love this place! It gives off a very comfortable vibe, like I’m actually in an authentic sushi shop. Last time we came here we got the red dragon and the salmon skin tempura rolls. Absolutely delicious! Wonderful staff too; they are very friendly. Also, happy hour is from 3 – 5 and 8:30-close, so get your favorite rolls during those times and it’ll be a blast!

Went here for lunch and it was pretty good. Spotted jab chae on the menu and I just love these Korean noodles… theirs were delicious and a great portion for the price. I also had a hankerin’ for sushi so opted to order a small roll of spicy albacore. Turned out to be 8 big pieces and tasty, though I thought the sushi rice was a little too wet. Got all this food(had to take most of the jab chae home) for around $ 18. I’ll definitely go again. HaHa Sushi… gomsumnida, domo arigato and thank you!

This was my first visit here since I saw the name on the sign change. The atmosphere is pretty cool. The sushi in behind the glass looks fresh. One suggestion: Please make the menu more clear. There was a bit of confusion over some items in the menu outside and the menus inside that had the same description but different pricing. Maybe a separate section for lunch specials? And make the text larger!

So good! We were visiting from out of town and came with family. The service was fast and the sushi was really good! They brought miso soup and edamame without having to order it which was great. We got all of the 50% off rolls to share plus the baked lobster roll. It was more than enough food for four of us, and our fam brought home about 4 pieces! Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area.

2.5 stars When you go to a sushi establishment, you know it’s not going to be cheap but it’s expected since it’s seafood. But since you are paying a bit more than the usual fare, expectations are going to be slightly higher. Taking into account that this restaurant’s location to a college and the customer base most likely being majority students, it doesn’t mean food presentation and flavor should diminish. I ordered a Jessica Roll(inside: tempura shrimp, crab meat; outside: salmon, tuna) and husband ordered one of the sushi combo specials(spicy tuna roll + 4 sushi pieces). My roll was just alright. Sorta plain for one of the more pricier rolls. The rice surrounding the sushi was warm versus typical cooler temperature, crab meat was just a bit excessive, and the texture of the fish seemed a bit mushy. Basically, food was a bit lackluster but did it’s job. But who wants to eat food that just does it’s job? We live to eat! Or at least I do… Other bits of info: TV available Space is quaint but has a separate area for larger parties A/C was not turned on K-Pop music plays in the background(no dig, just an observation) Waitress that night was wearing a shirt that showed midriff. If it kept going up occasionally and you make the effort to pull it down, no prob, life happens. But c’mon man, be professional!

Always a bad experience. I’ve been here about six times in the last year. Repeatedly bad experiences, but they offer some items not available anywhere else in SLO, so I continued to come back. I think I may be done for awhile now. Biggest issue here is their customer service. Every time I had a different waiter, but always the same lack of experience, knowledge, and manners. In my most recent experience, the waiter brought us our bill nearly an hour after we had finished eating. So, definitely don’t come here if you’re in a time crunch. If you do decide to go, go during happy hour– after 8:30pm. However, note there is a discrepancy in their happy hour pricing. The $ 9.50 chap chae is priced at $ 5.95. Based on the menu, the $ 9.50 chap chae is chicken. However, it’s actually the vegetable chap chae regularly priced at $ 7.95 that’s prices at $ 5.95 for happy hour. Very deceiving. Lastly, don’t eat raw fish here. Their sushi in general is mediocre, but my experience with raw fish has been sub par. Also, an hour from closing, their chefs were smoking in the kitchen.

Ordered the beef bibimbop to go, but the rice was not crispy at all. The only bibimbops on the menu is dolsot, so the rice should have been cooked in a stone pot first to crisp up. It also had about 7 large pieces of iceberg lettuce ‘spines’ that i picked out. Egg was good with the runny yolk, but not worth the $ 14 for what turned out to be a beef rice bowl. Disappointing lunch indeed. Will not return, even though they have tofu stew on the menu and i loooove tofu stew.

My family and I’m from Bakersfield visiting my sister for the weekend and we’re looking for some place that serves Korean dishes as well as Sushi rolls. And let me tell you folks! This is the place! Whether you’re korean or not, if you love both Korean and Japanese food then Kokoro has them! Our family tried Tofu soup and Champone(for the previous night) and they were unbelievably good! And if you are a beginner sushi eater then my recommendation to you is that you should definitely try Dynamite Roll! It’s fully cooked salmon so your stomach should be fine and satisfied! PS. The service was simply amazing!

I really like their sushi here. It’s a bit out of the way(not really, but it’s on the West side of the 101 so it seeems like it is) but also easy if you’re coming off the SB101. The prices are normal and the inside is quiet and clean. Their menu is this giant laminated plastic sheet with loads of pictures so you know just what you’re getting, which is great when you take people not really familiar with rolls, sashimi, etc. They do have a lot of tempur rolls, I’d avoid those as they can be really tough to eat in a single bit, and the flavors tend to be a bit more muddled. That said the specialty sushi rolls are really good, fresh and they have a nice variety, not all of the rolls are Cali roll based, which I appreciate. I tend to forget this place is around, but want to make a point to go back again soon to try a few more options.

Went for happy hour! Love that it’s open late. It’s one of the cheap, non-fast food restaurant that’s open past 9 or 10pm. Apparently we got a Spicy Tuna Roll + 4 pieces of sushi but I honestly don’t remember what they tasted like. I just have to say the White Dragon was bomb. It’s an amazing combo of sweet and spicy and it’s so awesome. I wish I was still in SLO. I’d want this every weekend.
