This is a pretty decent venue for a formal event in San Luis Obispo. Nestled inside Dairy Creek Golf Course, it has a nice serene area outside and is quite spacious inside. I’ve attended a few events held at Fairways. The bar is on the small side, but it is stocked. There is ample seating around the bar area and a couple of bar stools at the bar. A TV is near the bar, in case you have that basketball game you absolutely need to watch. Spacious enough to accommodate a DJ and also have a dance floor with a projector area. Buffet style catering: Salmon was really delicious my first time here, but this time around we had pork and chicken. The chicken was tender, the pork was flavored well(overly chewy), cinnamon infused rice, salted/herbed squash, mixed greens, dinner rolls(warm and tasted fresh form the oven). Dessert consisted of white cake with a lemony buttercream drizzled with chocolate along with strawberry slices. The cake was too crumbly, but the cream paired well with the cake. Unlimited soda, lemonade, coffee, and tea. Service was wonderful, the waiters kept asking us how everything was. Everything is pretty rushed though. Once food dwindles it is taken away and plates are cleared. The bartender was nice and accommodating. Overall, I love the large patio area outside. Too bad they don’t have heat lamps.
