Love this place! The owner is very passionate about his business and I wish some of his workers would display the same attitude! The flavors are pretty good, I love the taro one! Boba pearls can be a hit or miss, depending on who made them. Great place, outdoor seating, family friendly!

Since my first review, I’ve been back a couple times with somewhat better results. Product quality remains unchanged, but it seems that they at least try to pay attention to the customers. Still, they have seemed a little distracted for whatever reason whenever I’ve been there, so there’s still a lot of room for improvement on the service side.

I love boba. I don’t understand why some places call it bubble tea… in LA it’s only always boba… either way. I have been wanting to stop by here for a while since it’s closer to my place and it’s downtown. So during Art After Dark I decided to stop in. The poor girl inside was working all by herself. So she had to take all orders whenever people walked in and she couldn’t make any orders as long as people were coming in… help the girl! She was really nice, and never seemed to get overwhelmed or frustrated and just kept plugging away. Good on her! I ordered a large almond milk tea with boba, because… obviously, that’s the best. I didn’t watch it being made, as I was walking around the nice little backdoor patio section, but my boba was overcooked, not totally rock hard, and no rock center but it was tough and definitely over done. Dang! Bummed. Maybe when they have some more help, they can work out that kink. The almond milk tea was good, not too sweet. Speaking of sweet, they do not ask about sweetness level, so I don’t think they offer customized levels like more hardcore boba stops. The interior was nice and clean, and the music was a nice blend of electro/chill and was at the perfect volume to allow talking. I will be back, and will try again, as maybe it was just an odd night. Nothing was bad, and I would say stop in for sure!

The boba isn’t cooked right and the snow bubble drink tasted like powder! I definitely prefer Boba Stop over this place in SLO, but I really miss Lollicup and Half & Half…

This place is a joke, artificial sweetener up to wazoo, gross tea, disgusting business this place was filthy. Avoid at all costs, don’t support this place.

I suggest you come here. I got a wonderful lychee-peach green tea today with a good amount of perfectly cooked boba. This is a locally owned place that hasn’t even been open a year. Unlike the lager Boba corporations they still seem to be getting the hang of it. The boba is some times perfect other days slightly to hard. After coming here a few times I do have something I must say. I recommend that you have Annie make your drinks if possible, she’s the most experienced and I have yet to have her make a bad drink. If your just walking by and want to see if shes there she’s a short Idian girl who had her hair in a pony tail today. A few weeks ago I would have rated this 4 stars due to the volatility of how squishy their boba is. However I think they changed their recipe because I haven’t had any hard boba since.

I really like this place. I’m a regular here and have been for the past year or two. More recently, I’ve been coming almost every day for the past month and a half to study since this beats the crowd at many coffee shops. The boba here is of a more firm type so it’s really a matter of personal taste, because I do like it more firm and chewy as opposed to soft and squishy. The fruit flavors here are pretty on point, but I’ve never tried their milk teas so I could not comment. Fresh teas are always brewed fresh and never old! Come try this place out, and if you don’t like it they’ll remake it for you free of charge. The people working here are all super friendly so don’t be afraid to give Downtown Boba a try :) P. S. This place was a bit off a year ago, or even half a year ago for that matter but it’s gotten a lot better now! Under new and reformed management.

This place is way better than the BobaStop on California! The drinks are fresher and taste more natural. The owner is super friendly and Annie is bomb at making a drink just how you want it. Might be a little different than other boba places: aka, the boba’s a little firmer, but damn! It’s so much better this way. I don’t know what they do to make it taste so good. I think they put honey in their boba, which all the boba places should do. I don’t know why there were no many negative reviews, but coming here recently was a really great experience.

Love yourself and don’t get boba here. Ordered a milk tea with boba and received a cup that was filled to the brim with ice and regret. The milk tea tasted off while the boba was hard and gross. It was so bad that I actually asked for my money back, something I’ve NEVER done anywhere. The employees were very annoyed by this and offered to make me a new milk tea. I was hesitant, but ultimately accepted. Worst decision of my life. I’m pretty sure they made my second milk tea bad on purpose. It was like half foam on top. Bad experience from beginning to end. Never again.

They’ve really turned the place around! The tea is sweet not too much. I didn’t personally have the Boba, just the milk tea, and with a black tea infusion. The location it self is really clean and open. The person at the register was kind and courteous. Overall an excellent experience. Would go to again!

Worst experience ever. Employee made it wrong. Overly sweet. Boba a horrible texture. No. Just no.

Short and simple: Nice people Need to get more organized Shouldn’t have to wait 20mins for boba Need more natural fruit Slushies are blended too much

I was very excited to hear there was another boba place open in San Luis Obispo. When I gave Downtown Boba a try, not only did the wait take a long time for a slushy with boba, but the actual flavor of the slushy was very mild and watered-down. This has happened on multiple occasions. I will probably stick with going to The Bobastop unless I am really craving boba when in downtown San Luis Obispo.

Ordered a coconut milk tea(no boba) and it was okay. Not amazing but nothing to complain about. My issue(like most other peoples’) was with service. The milk tea was ready in about 5 minutes but my boyfriend and I waited 15 – 20 minutes for our crepes. The girl took about 5 people’s orders(who came significantly after us), made their drinks, THEN gave us the crepes. It’s nice to have a boba place downtown but I think I’ll stick with The Bobastop on California.

Boba itch!!! I went looking for boba, being from LA and NY, it’s the perfect dessert! Anyways, we were near the area, and downtown boba was one of the few places open late at night on a Sunday. Love the inside! Cute, dainty, and cushioned seats! The menu had a lot of options, and I was intrigued by the creamy smoothies– which I highly recommend! They have specials out this month, with unique blends. I ended up getting the Triango, with an addition of rose and raspberry flavors which was super fruity. The bf got a mix of almond and taro– which was amazing! They also have alot of other desserts like crepes and baklava, which all look really good. In addition, the cashier(girl, didnt catch her name) is also the barista, and she’s awesomeeeee. I think the earlier reviews were talking about another employee, because this girl was super sweet! I highly recommend stopping by if you want dessert!

I really dig this place. I am a newbie to boba. The staff was friendly and supportive of each other because the guy who was ringing me up was in training. Since I’m new to boba, they gave suggestions on what the drinks are and what different types of things or boba you can get in the drink. They even gave me a sample! The owner here is also ridiculously friendly and let’s us draw on the glass back door.

First thing, the owner is really nice and talkative! Tries to get to know each of his customers EVEN when it’s busy and I respect that. I love the layout and the boba wheel thing on the wall! As for the boba, the pearls itself were really good. The taro milk tea was super watered down and my Jasmine Milk Tea took super long to come out. It took really long because the worker didn’t see my cup on the counter until I asked her. And also, when she was making it, she didn’t have enough of the milk tea… so it wasn’t even filled to the top. But at that point, I just let it go. I may be back to try again, but hopefully they’ll fill it to the top next time!

Amazing! Another Unilocaler posted a photo a few days ago of a Thai tea boba and had to have one. I love both but I didn’t see it on the menu… So I asked and they graciously whipped me one up with a smile: D I was asked if I wanted it blended frozen, I haven’t tried Thai tea blended yet so iced it was. I also picked up a cute shirt with their logo on it for my little one, super cool! Fun day! I’ll be back, maybe I can get an inside scoop on what else is on their secret menu ;)

Frankly, its not good. I got a «Classic Milk Tea,» with little clarity on what that actually means despite directly asking. It tasted very water, without much milk and little tea flavor. I did not finish even half of it. As for the boba, it was a combination of very overdone and very underdone boba, with an overly sweet, artificial aftertaste. My acquaintance purchased a Caramel Frappé which was communicated to be like a milk shake. It came out to be very thin with clumps of powder. It definitely had a soapy taste to it. Given that there are other options in town, this would be no means be my first choice. I will give them another shot in a few weeks, hoping they work out the kinks, though I’m not optimistic.
