Just wanted to add that I just recently came and got the Friday fish taco special for the first time and was more than satisfied. They were way bigger than I was expecting and so so delicious. I got two thinking I would need to get more to be full and I was stuffed after eating just the two and some complimentary chips. Absolutely awesome, I’m so stoked to know that they have good deals for me every day here.

Love all the food I have tried. Large meals at a great price. They never mind my curiosity, I know zero Spanish, and I ask for help to pronounce the orders correctly. I knew I liked al pastor but forgot what it was called. I described it as delicious and not carne or carnitas or chicken. Al pastor was the correct answer, and I am amazed they knew what I was explaining. Given my awful description. Just ordered a massive taco Salad and it was massive. And delicious of course. And I just found out they serve michelada. And of course was provided some help pronouncing it correctly. My new favorite spot.

I love Cinco De Mayo’s dollar tacos on Tuesdays and Wednesday’s! They do vegetarian tacos with beans, rice, cheese, and lettuce. So worth $ 1!

Meat is extremely low quality. Al pastor consists mostly of fat chunks. Menudo is good. Micheladas are the best I’ve ever had. Seriously. Go get a pitcher of michelada with a friend or two after a long night of drinking. Cure your hangover with a little salty buzz. But don’t eat the food. Just drink. Go to Taco Bell for a better meal.

It started off innocently enough. Taco Tuesday. Once a week I’d head over to Cinco De Mayo, hang out with Juan Carlos, and have some delicious tacos. But slowly, I started going on Wednesday. And on Fridays. And on all the other days of the week. Cinco De Mayo has officially squeezed its way into my normal diet. I can’t go more than 3 days with out going to this place. Its a great place to go for some tacos($ 1 tacos Monday — Wednesday). Live music sometimes. Sangria on Tuesdays. Delicious burritos, carnitas, fajitas, and churros. Juan Carlos will take care of you, I promise. P. S. Do not try to eat the 12″ burrito in one sitting. You will not finish it and it will destroy you. You will forever walk in shame, and your friends will never look at you the same way. It’s just too big. Too big.

My friends and I went here last week for Taco Tuesday and Holy Guacamole this place is the tits!(pardon my French) We got there early and it was already starting to get crazy busy, college kids and family folk lining up around the building! Fortunately for us our friend had arrived prior and had beer waiting for us so the line seemed less miserable… and very much worth it! We ordered Pastor Tacos as well as some Lengua and Tripas(sorry if I misspelled anything) More beer and a good truck load of tacos later and I was needing to be rolled out to my car! The tacos are made to perfection and the beer is a perfect pairing to wash them down with. Atmosphere is great, what with all the people in and out and the employees rushing around to serve, it keeps the place lively and exciting DINNERAND A SHOW. Speaking of Show, there was also a performer there named Joe who was playing his guitar and singing lovely Spanish songs and to my surprise some rad classic rock… little David Bowie, The Doors and so much more! He even takes requests! This place is incredible and I will definitely be coming back for many Tuesdays to come… maybe even a few Wednesdays as they have a Fish Taco special! Mucho Bueno!

Their taco Tuesday deal is AWESOME! They have about 20 different taco choices for 99¢ each. I recommend getting hard shell tacos, as you get more toppings with those. Their pastor, BBQ chicken, barbacoa, and carne asada are probably the best out of all. Be sure to grab the green salsa for some kick!

Again my quest for the best chili verde burrito continues. Cinco de Mayo was a good candidate. The location was originally a Taco Bell in the 70’s and has transformed several times and is no Cinco de Mayo. The have done a nice job and getting a cross between a fast food restaurant and a how may I help you restaurant. You order at the counter and there are so many choices! I guess you can tell or at least guess what i ordered. I did, chili verde burrito to go! There are booths and tables both inside and out. There is a small salsa bar, and oh do I like the green sauce. I got a couple small containers of the green sauce and headed across the street to Santa Rosa Park for a taste of my latest treasure. It was large, quite large. The beans were extra creamy. The spice was good and enhanced nicely with the green salsa. The meat was simmered well and in big flavorful chunks. It was hot, tasty, and I will be going back for seconds in the near future. I really like a burrito in the park!

Not the worse place to eat and not the best. The place is pretty small and on the way. Clean and not very busy. I’m not sure I would come back again.

Fantastic! If you want home made Mexican food go here! Carlos the owner helped us, and we were not disappointed! I got carne asads tacos, and my husband got the fish and we shared– excellent. We sat outside, everything was clean, and food was fast. It’s hard to find good authentic Mexican food in San Luis Obispo, and we’ve found it! Can’t wait to go back.

Dollar tacos on Tuesdays and Wednesday’s! With that being said, I had a little of everything listed. Taco al Pastor are my usual favorite! Aside from that I had some of their carnitas and grilled fish tacos, they definitely were scrumptious! If your a fish taco type of person then this is the place to go! Grilled or Fried!

Craving tacos today, can’t imagine why! Ended up in the most appropriate place. It’s small, but the employees are very friendly and super helpful. I tried lingua for the first time, it was sooo good I had to have another! The shrimp, barbacoa, asada. Chicken and fish. They were a little small, but worth the price. I will def. be back!

Really really great service. Super friendly counter but with an actual waiter that helps refill your drinks and delivers the food. It looks like an old Taco Bell building with the stone arches and a very inviting patio. The inside of the place is cozy but has 6 comfy booths. I tried the $ 1 dollar tacos. The size of the tortillas were small even compared to the mini ones. I ordered 6 in total. 2 beef carne asada, 2 pork carnitas, 1 shrimp and 1 fish. All were seasoned and garnished great. The portion size left me craving for more but they were tasty. I think next time I will try something else and maybe a burrito. The menu has lots of options. Plus they serve beer and wine. It looks like a good place for the college aged fun people at Cal Poly. Go Mustangs! !

Taco Tuesday at Cinco De Mayo!!! Finding decent Mexican food in San Luis Obispo is one of the hardest tasks for a food lover. Being from the San Diego area, I am most certainly picky when it comes to good Mexican food; however, Cinco De Mayo most certainly has some good picks. My friends and I try to make it out here every week on either Tuesday or Wednesday to celebrate Taco Tuesday and have a mid week de-stress time. I typically get their asada, chili verde, and Barbacoa tacos and they are always great. The owner seems to always be there either taking orders, or cleaning up the front. Very nice, guy, and always smiling when bringing you your order. The dining room is definitely small with only five tables or so; however, they have a sizable outside patio, and most people I know, always go in and pick up their burritos to go before either heading to work or class. Cinco De Mayo is definitely worth the drop in!

It is always nice to have Mexican food after camping, because most Mexiacan restaurants are authentic in CA and food is always filling, no long wait. I had beef fajita. It came with rice, avogado, and cheese. Delicious! Also the guy there was funny and nice!
