Shear Illusions

I hate to give a bad review anywhere but I came in just to get a perm because I miss my curls so much. After shampooing my hair and start the process. they tell me they can’t do it AFTER they started because my hair is colored… which ok I’ve done my research and it should be fine but whatever I understand some places are scared to mess it. My problem isn’t that they couldn’t do it though. Its that after they already started they almost let me leave with wet hair so I had to ask for them to blow dry it since they didn’t give me a service in the first place. They also went on talking about the whole thing in another language and talking about my hair. I could tell because they were pointing at me like okay… thats unprofessional. Anyways. the lady stopped blow drying my hair midway so it was only partially dry… and she grabs a rat tail comb and starts from my ROOTS instead of my ends and combs aggressively throughout my hair… she was pulling out so much of my hair I saw it on the comb… like I tried so hard not to loose it. Anyways I won’t be coming back here. This is why I rarley ever come to these type of places… if your looking for a trim or just a guys haircut I’m guessing you’ll be fine.

I’ve been coming here weekly for my fade cut. I can’t complain since the cuts here are $ 9 for taper/​fade. Yen is awesome! She hooked up my brother with a perm and a fade for $ 29. It’s hard to find a good barber who is consistent with your cuts and knows what you want. Yen is the go-​to barber for clean fades and tapers. Definitely high quality at a low price. Doesn’t get any better. Highly recommended.

I was recommended this place by a friend during my trip to California. After reading some bad reviews I am kind of hesitated but gave it a shot anyway. Finding out later that the place has been sold for a new owner and she is fantastic. I think her name is Yen. I got my hair trim and blow out. It was the best trim I have ever had. Plus, also got my nail done. Love the way they take their time and did it carefully. Wish this place was near my home so I could go here more frequently. Awwww highly recommend.

New owner is very rude to staff and customers and all her staff have left because they don’t like working there anymore. I don’t think she will last here long, which is too bad since shear illusions has been here for a long time.
