Raja is a nice local liquor store for the weekend party needs. There is a good selection of alcohol including beer, wine and liquor. The soda selection is okay but I would prefer a few more diet 12 pack choices. They have a good snack selection as well. The customer service is great when you are a regular. There can be some shaky visitors here so the owners always have to be on guard which I appreciate. They make me feel safe when I visit. If you are in the area and looking for a safer store liquor store to stop by, I recommend Raja.

Raja’s is next to a mexican grocery and behind a valero gas station. i came here cuz i saw«liquor» on the standing pole display. bbq was also listed but they are long gone. friendly indian cashier wearing a turban, probably a sikh, spoke an accent but brit accents are discernible the 2nd time around. store is basically one wall bottled wines, one wall soft drinks/beer, one wall cigarettes and stuff behind the counter and the wall is the front window. rest is groceries. pour: mike’s harder mango punch(2.79+…=3.18) –sweet potent stuff. –one 23.5 oz can gives you a warm buzz,(8%) –4 stars recommended for quick buzz, possible hangover. on draught: –disclaimer on can«mikes makes it hard. so is prison. don’t drink until you’re 21». –mango drink looks like piss. very sweet(the drink not the piss) –various beers have promos and pricing, many others no pricing –beers mostly mex, bud;s, and a few micros. –family members and friends abound.(no doubt for security and other reasons),

i cant believe my local corner store is on Unilocal… Raja liquors is operated by two brothers(and the wife of one of the brothers during the evening). Nobody knows what the brothers are named, everyone calls both guys«Raja». I believe they have taken on a «good cop», «bad cop» role with their customers. The taller slender brother is nice, the shorter stockier brother is the mean one. He’ll argue with any drunken crackhead who happens to come through the door if need be. At night, the slender brother’s family will all come into the store until closing time. So you’ll see 2 or 3 kids walking down the aisles looking bored out of their mind. Sometimes they’ll act like they’re cleaning and spy on you to see if you’re stealing. I used to get annoyed by it, but sometimes you learn to get over things in 2 – 3 years. The price you pay for certain items will vary depending on which brother is at the register when you buy it. Is a jug of apple juice $ 2.00 or $ 2.75… you’ll never know at Raja Liquors!
