This place WAS great. But they closed down sometime last year. Don’t know if they moved or went out of business. Great ribs, peachcobbler. Service was slow though

(Update 12−11−07) WHYTHEYLEAVEME Y’ALL??? ;-( I guess I gotta drive to Concord… DAMMITITALL! **************** Not only good bbq, but GREAT service! I did a «Lawd-Hav-Mercy» tailgater to the Raider game, and Mama HOOKEDMEUP!!!(She fussed my butt out ROYALLY, but hooked me up nonetheless!) Sliced brisket nice and thin, spicy flavorful links, chicken, ribs, potato salad, cornbread, beans AND pie(yes M’am, I shared the cobbler too). Enough to feed 20 and I still brought food home! I am not worthy… just blessed!

Very good Q at a dirt cheap price. The only reason they don’t get 5 stars is that the side dishes are just OK. Good sauce, good meat, service can be a bit spotty(like not being open on time) But if you got a Jones for Q, this is a place for a fix. Yup, they moved to Concord. Bummer!!!

i’ve lived on the same block as this BBQ spot for about 3 or 4 years now. It’s a family owned spot, everyone there is very friendly and helpful. The eating area is always very clean, and they have cable TV to watch. The food is good, not great. I usually go and get hot link sandwiches every now and then. If you want a full meal you’re probably going to spend $ 9 – 13 bucks per person. They also have peach cobbler and sweet potato pie. Overall its a place you should try out at least once, I can’t say it’ll blow you away, but i CAN say you won’t have a bad experience.

My husband spent one summer in Mississippi and learned to eat real BBQ. This place just has it all — wonderful chicken, brisket, hot links, you name it. You get several choices and can have one type of meat, or 2(2-way) or 3(3-way). Cornbread muffins are good, ribs are fantastic, and the desserts — OMG. We sometimes come by just for the chocolate cake, if they haven’t run out of it. It’s in a dicey neighborhood but we mostly get it to go, since we like to knock back a few beers in our backyard when we eat and pretend we’re in the slow-paced south instead of the crazy Bay Area. Try it, you won’t be disappointed at all.

I, like my brother, am also in awe that no one else has been here. Best BBQ in the Bay Area in my opinion. Tender chicken, meat-sliding-off-the-bone ribs, tasty beef, and banana pudding. I’ve been going here for years and have never been disappointed even after the lady that used to do most of the cooking passed away. God rest her soul and bless her for her wonderful cooking. It’s a hole in the wall place(what can I say? I love hole in the walls) and some may find themselves uncomfortable in this part of town but it’s not that bad.

OMG!!! NONE of you been here yet? Well, let me tell you… This is a place I’ve gone to for my BBQ fix for over 10 years and I ALWAY run into folks from Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, St. Louis, etc and they say this is the ONLY place they go in the Bay Area for BBQ. It’s the closest to the real southern bbq, according to many of them. They mentioned that they’ve gone to many different ones all over the Bay and none have compared. I’ve been to many, myself & must say that I’m fortunate to live close to such a great BBQ spot! Only thing that I like better elsewhere is their sliced beef.(I LOVE E&J’s Briskett better) BUt the combination of smokey & sweet is PERFECT at this spot! But don’t expect anything fancy… the neighborhood is not the best and the place is not decorated much at all. Just go for the food! UPDATE — 1÷22÷08 — This place moved to CONCORD!!! WTF??? I guess they have a more loyal following there! I’m super bummed now!
